Tuesday 9/26/2017: Sneak Peek at the Week; Cosmic Breaks; Pluto Power Plays

Alll-righty then!

The work week began with a sigh of relief as the Moon entered optimistic Sagittarius at 12:01 AM ET on MONDAY. Anything to escape the intensity of the weekend’s Moon in moody Scorpio!  A challenge between a Mercury (mindset) in Virgo (refinement) and Saturn (control) in Sagittarius (opinion) suggested gravitas in thought and communication. That pattern was exact Monday at 10:36 AM ET.

Today the Sag Moon continues without interference through most of the business day. Consider a gambol or a gamble; think outside the box; take a walk in the woods; catch a foreign film; tell the entire Free World your righteous opinion. As we get closer to 8:15 PM ET, note the potential for an ambitious patriarchal reach or wet blanker to weigh in, courtesy of the Moon’s meet-up with stern Saturn.

The Moon will be void on WEDNESDAY between 7:08AM ET and 12:24 PM ET. Roll with the twists and flakes that may disrupt your morning. Crises that crop up are often much ado about nothing when the Moon is void. Stick to routine concerns. After lunch it will be all business as the Moon enters enterprising Capricorn, where it will be for the rest of the work week. The Moon’s  weekly clash with Pluto and Uranus hits at 10:36PM ET on THURSDAY and 7:20PM ET on FRIDAY. Power plays, emotional catharses and sudden upsets are more likely when the Moon’s journey through the cosmos is challenged by these heavies.

But wait, there’s more. There are two significant patterns happening on THURSDAY which we are feeling now. I really can’t do better than this headline from today’s WaPo Daily 202:  “ Trump’s plutocracy problem complicates push for tax cuts”  The keyword here is PLUTOCRACY, and the planetary pattern it reflects is PLUTO turning direct in Power That Be CAPRICORN on Thursday at 3:33PM ET. Isn’t that interesting? Pluto also refers to news from underground. A volcano in Bali may be “hours away” from erupting after “unprecedented seismic activity.”

Pluto has been slowing to a virtual dead stop all month, stationing at 16 degrees of Capricorn. If you have a planet around 16 -18 degrees of Capricorn, Aries, Libra or Cancer, you’re probably feeling the pressure for a power play or transformation. Jimmy Kimmel fits that category. So does Megyn Kelly, who launched a goofy new talk show yesterday. I’m not sure what to make of the pinky pussy-bow blouse she opted to wear for her big debut.  That would never have happened on Fox.

Guess what part of the body Capricorn rules? The KNEE. Saturn is the ruler of Capricorn, so it also refers to the knee. Saturn is in Sagittarius, which refers to publishing, opinions and sports. What made headlines all through the weekend, against the added backdrop of Neptune (vision, headline, fatih) opposing Mars (athletes & other warriors)? Professional athletes peacefully protesting police brutality against people of color, as Eric Reid, a player for the San Francisco 49ers, explains.  What are they doing? TAKING A KNEE. How can this be a mere coincidence? (It can’t).

Former 49er quarterback Colin Kaepernick is the player who started it all, and it should surprise absolutely no one that Mr. Kaepernick is a Scorpio with the Sun conjunct Pluto. What drives him? The Moon in Aries, which needs to be first in all things. Of course he went FIRST.  Where is his Mars (how he needs to act)?  16 degrees of Libra, supercharged by transiting Pluto right this very minute! Mars in Libra is the quintessential warrior for peace! Where is his Mercury (the way he needs to think and communicate)? At 28 Libra, amplified by transiting Jupiter in Libra and opposed by Uranus in Aries. Of course he’s being seen as a disruptive thinker, big time.   He is going to be making news on this issue through 2018.

Was that fascinating and helpful? Did you learn something new? If so, please support this work by making a generous donation to my Cosmic Tip Jar.  It’s the big gold DONATE button you’ll see on the left hand side of the Daily Forecast page. Thank you!

Another big pattern exact on Thursday is the third opposition between expansive Jupiter and rebel Uranus, happening at 12:24 AM ET. Jupiter refers to excess; Uranus refers to aviation. This just in:  “Plane crash which killed UN boss Dag Hammarskjold may have been casued by aircraft attack.”   In other news:  why are alleged public servants like Treasury Secretary Steve Munchkin and Health & Human Services Secretary Tom Price using taxpayer-funded charter jets instead of flying commercial? Is it really worth $25,000 per hour to have a “secure phone line” on a short hop from NY to DC? Tom Price billed taxpayers $300,000 so he wouldn’t be “inconvenienced.” I bet a lot of taxpayers could get desperately needed dental care for $300,000…

Can you tell the Moon is in righteously opinionated Sagittarius?

Sudden changes of fortune, genetic mutations and big wake-up calls are also reflected by Jupiter-Uranus. “Nerve implant restores consciousness to man in persistent vegetative state.”  That is certainly a big wake-up call.  Uranus refers to seismic activity. Combine the expansive Jupiter-Uranus energy with Pluto (“news from underground”) and it is no surprise to read that a volcano eruption in Bali may be “hours away after unprecedented seismic activity.”   Watch for big news of power — or lack thereof — in the tech industry this week.

And now, more news.

Anthony Weiner. I can’t believe I’ve been following his horoscope since June 2011, when his horoscope was eclipsed and his secret sexting hobbies were outed for all the world to see.  That June 2011 eclipse happened at 11 Gemini, square his Virgo Sun, Uranus and Pluto. Those three planets were eclipsed again in September of 2016 and February 2017,  with predictions for 2017 noted here.  Yesterday, with transiting Mars at 12 Virgo (i.e., triggering that ancient eclipse and his pile-up of Virgo planets), he was sentenced to 21 months in prison.  Bewildering? A wipe out? Yes, most definitely. Transiting Neptune (which dissolves whatever it touches) is exactly opposite Weiner’s Sun, Uranus and Pluto.

Guess what else has a significant planet at 12 Virgo? The horoscope of Puerto Rico.  That’s where its Moon is. Its Mercury at 26 Leo was hit by the Big Fat Solar Eclipse last month…which fell in its 10th House of public status. Mercury refers to communication and transportation. With gas and electricity in dangerously short supply, there is not much communication and transportation to be had. Eclipsed?  Here are satellite images of Puerto Rico at night — before and after Hurricane Maria.

Meanwhile….“Trump misreads North Korea’s sacred dynasty at his peril”  — this is a fascinating piece that argues that Kim Jong-un sees himself as the descendant of an ancient shaman king. It’s an apt piece for a week dominated by fanatical/spiritual Neptune with Mars. Elsewhere,  it seems to make perfect sense that a Republican senator from Alabama  fighting to keep his seat in a runoff today is named “Strange.”

In Virgo, Mars could refer to fastidious men. Sunday’s “Modern Love” essay in the  NYT is called “Discovering Manhood in Soapy Bubbles.” I am sure Neptune rules bubbles…

If you’d like to know what all these patterns mean for your horoscope, here’s the 411 on consultations. And here are a few raves from recent clients:

“Regarding her birth..it was a bit unusual and stressful…how were you able to see that??”
“Our conversation felt really helpful and already I feel myself standing a little taller and projecting some of my assertive energy out into the world (in a good way).”

“I hope the voice message I left you conveyed my surprise at the intense and  surreal reading you gave me on Monday.  It was astonishing. Let’s get in touch on Friday to set up the other reading. Again, thanks so much!!!”

You’re welcome!

Thank you for reading this forecast.

Friday 9/22/2017 & the Weekend: Happy Sun in Libra; Weird, Wild Neptune & Mars

TGIF!

The Libra Moon is void this morning, wandering without focus until it enters the next sign — Scorpio — at 1:40PM ET. A Scorpio Moon suggests an intense emotional drive carrying us through the weekend, seeking depth and substance in its quest for world domination.

Moon will be void again on SUNDAY at 3:33 AM ET — not to enter Sagittarius until 12:01 AM ET on MONDAY. That’s your cue to do your weekend shopping on Saturday, not Sunday, as impulse purchases made during Moon voids are rarely as useful as you thought they would be. Stick to routine during the void and chill, chill, chill.

The dominant pattern now and through Sunday is the opposition between Mars and Neptune on Sunday at 3:50PM ET. Mars refers to action, courage, combat and anger. Neptune refers to vision, film,  fog and big fat lies. Thus, I’ve been doing a Snoopy dance all week at the timeliness of Jake La Motta’s passing earlier this week. Why? Mr. La Motta was a boxer (Mars) of mythic (Neptune) proportions. He was subject of the award-winning film Raging Bull.  I’ve been seeing a ton of Raging Bull — in the news this week.

Other notable obituaries reflecting the glamorous and scandalous potential of Neptune-Mars: “Liliane Bettencourt, L’Oréal Heiress Vexed by Swindling Case, Is Dead at 94″.  Neptune refers to sleep and drugs; Mars rules surgery:  Dr. Edmond Eger II, 86, Dies; Found Way to Make Anesthesia Safer.  Neptune rules film; Mars rules sports: “Bernie Casey, Who Glided From Football to Hollywood, Dies at 78”. Isn’t that interesting?

Meanwhile, today marks the last day of summer — the Sun is at the end of Virgo and will move into Libra at 4:02PM ET. Happy Autumnal Equinox…a perfect balance between day and night.

Here’s what you need to know about the first day of any season  — i.e., equinoxes and solstices — from an astrological point of view. The first days of Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter correspond with the first day (or first degree) of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn, respectively (there are thirty degrees in each sign of the zodiac). Got that? Good.

These four signs are called cardinal signs. Cardinal signs initiate. They come up with the idea and put it into action, which leads to necessary change. “Cardinal” suggests (from the Latin root of the word), “that on which something turns or depends.”  So the first day/degree of a Cardinal sign is a turning point. In astrology, the technical term for the first degree of any Cardinal sign is the “Aries Point”, just to confuse people who are not professional astrologers. In other words, the first day of Cancer, Libra, Capricorn and Aries is the Aries Point. The first day of Taurus (and the rest of the signs) is NOT at the Aries Point). Clear?

Equinoxes and solstices are also prominent. We make a fuss over them, right? In Japan, the first day of each season is actually a national holiday. How cool is that? Thus, in a horoscope, a planet or angle at the Aries Point needs to be prominent. Off the top of my head, Meryl Streep & Elizabeth Warren both have the Sun at the Aries Point (though they are Cancers, mind you — born on the same day). They’re pretty prominent in everything they do, don’t you think?

Libra is an airy, mental sign, generally concerned with relationships, social graces and with promoting fairness, justice and balance. Its ruling planet is Venus, which can be oh-so-sweet and socially gracious. Libra’s mantra is : I BALANCE. This does not mean Librans are balanced; it means they generally are seeking balance and are quite capable of swinging back and forth wildly as they search for it. As sweet as Libra can be, they are not marshmallows. The term “iron fist in a velvet glove” often applies. Jimmy Carter is a Libra. So was Margaret Thatcher, dubbed the “Iron Lady.” Perhaps that also reflects her Scorpio Ascendant.  Vladimir Putin is  a Libra — rumored to have a Scorpio  Ascendant, too.

No sleeping in on MONDAY. Moon will be in high-flying Sagittarius — but thoughts and communication may be seriously sobering, as Saturn (control) will square Mercury (mindset) at 10:36 AM ET. Wake up and smell the coffee.

And now, more news.

The last time Jimmy Kimmel made headlines with a potent perspicacious spin on the need for actual affordable health care accessible to ALL — was around May 8th. Guess what pattern was hot in the cosmos? A challenge between MARS and NEPTUNE. Back then it was a square. Now it is an opposition — the next stage in the cycle. Think First Quarter Moon moving on to Full Moon. This week Mr. Kimmel is making news again, calling out Congress on its fanatical (Neptune-Mars) effort to repeal the Affordable Care Act for the 348th time. He’s playing the role of Mercury (mindset) in harmony with dirt-digging Pluto (a pattern exact today at 1:59 PM ET), against the other Raging Bull–. Do we see this surge of persuasive action in his horoscope? Yes!

Mr. Kimmel is a Scorpio with a need for a vision, suggested by his Sun-Neptune conjunction. He is driven by the me-me-me need of his pioneering Moon in Aries, which is likely in a challenging pattern with Mars in “make it happen” Capricorn. This Mars is being supercharged by transiting Pluto this year and into next, so we can appreciate why Mr. Kimmel would be especially forceful in action. Here is the latest clip of Mr. Kimmel speaking truth to power on his show. As for The Guardian saying that Mr. Kimmel has emerged as the “unlikely”  leader of the fight to save the Afffordable Care Act, obviously it hasn’t seen his horoscope.

Meanwhile, at the United Nations, P45 praised the health care system of an African nation which does not exist.  Earlier this week he threatened to destroy North Korea. Yesterday, Kim Jong-un declared P45 a  “mentally deranged U.S. dotard,” boosting web traffic at dictionary dot com and perfectly reflecting the delusional potential of this week’s planetary patterns.  Also imaginary:

A Mexican navy official has apologized for confusion over reports that a 12-year-old girl was trapped alive after a Mexico City school collapsed in the wake of a magnitude 7.1 earthquakethat killed more than 280 people nationwide.

Reporters covered “rescue efforts” for over a day…only to find out that all of the students in that school were accounted for. Surreal…and how interesting that an apology for the error would come from the Navy (Neptune!).

Mars rules the head. Neptune is madness. Aaron Hernandez was an NFL player convicted of murder. He commited suicide in April. This week it was revealed that he had C.T.E, a disease of the brain often seen in football players. Symptoms include “problems with controlling aggression and impulses, and some degree of dementia, as well as mood swings, lapses in judgment and a disorganized manner”.

Final story of the day sent in by an Avid Reader. “Back in 1982 I was dealing acid at Jim Morrison’s grave and that’s when I met Vladimir Putin.”  Fact, fiction or just weird, wiggy ride of Neptune opposing Mars?

And what’s Neptune doing in your horoscope? Here’s the 411 on consultations and reports.

Thank you for reading this forecast.

Wednesday 9/20/2017: Late Sneak Peek at a Wiggy Week; New Moon in Virgo

Late post this week, as my writing efforts were focused on finishing another article for The Mountain Astrologer — coming soon to a newsstand near you…huzzah!

Meanwhile, the Moon entered people-pleasing Libra at 6:06AM ET, driving the next few days with a quest for balance, fairness and rational debate. Said quest will be subject to power plays and upsets, as the Moon makes its weekly clash with Pluto (1:01PM ET on THURSDAY) and Uranus (9:04 AM ET on FRIDAY). Today, however, while there are other electric and wiggy patterns humming in the background, the path of the Moon is free of bumps. So off we go, inspired by the New Moon that occurred at 1:30 AM ET in Virgo.

What can we say about Virgo? Well, it is an earth sign (as opposed to fire, water or air), and thus practical, with material concerns. It is also a mutable sign, as opposed to cardinal or fixed. What does that mean? Cardinal signs are Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn; they need to come up with the idea and take action.  Fixed signs are Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius. These signs need to organize and give form to the concepts pitched by cardinal signs. Mutable signs — Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces — get to spread the word about the cool forms the fixed signs made. Mutable signs are much more subject to change, compared to Cardinal and Fixed. Think of a weathervane spinning in whatever direction the wind happens to blow.

Other Virgo tidbits: it is ruled by Mercury. Virgo is all about analysis and making thing right.  In health matters,  Virgo rules the intestinal tract and assimilation. If you have planets in Virgo in your horoscope, and they are under a great deal of developmental tension, you may have some issues with your digestive system, especially with how your system absorbs nutrition from food.

This New Moon has four planets in Virgo: Sun, Moon, Mercury and Mars. That’s a lot of energy focused on breaking things down into tiny bits of perfect data, separating the wheat from the chaff. However, the Virgo need for precision has been challenged this week by the influence of foggy Neptune. In the language of astrology, Neptune refers to drugs, oceans, faith, delusions, deceptions, oil, healing, spirits and other intangibles.

On this New Moon, Neptune opposed Mercury (how we think and communicate) and Mars (action; assertion; machism0). “Disturbing images show Navy hospital staffers mishandling infant, calling babies ‘mini Satans’,” reports the Washington Post. Surreal? A tad fanatical? Hurricane Maria Does ‘Mind-Boggling’ Damage to Dominica, Leader Says, reports the NYT. How often do we see “mind-boggling” in a headline? “Porn-actor-turned-spy who posed as jihadist gets suspended sentence,”  the Guardian tells us. Intrigue and scandal, with no small amount of sex appeal — courtesy of Neptune in a hard aspect with Mars.

The Mercury-Neptune opposition was exact yesterday at 11:50PM ET. The Mars-Neptune opposition will be exact on SUNDAY at 3:50 PM ET.  Let the record show that the world is scheduled to end the day before, on September 23rd. Let the record show that this is not the first time the world has been scheduled to end, and that the last time it was on the calendar (10/6/2015), there was a Mars-Neptune opposition.  I think I see a pattern here…

Meanwhile, Mercury is in a harmonious pattern with depth-seeking Pluto, exact on FRIDAY at 1:59 PM ET. This facilitates investigative powers and persuasive communication. Some may use it to pierce the veil of murky Neptune fog and deceit.

This week, two planets change signs. Yesterday, Venus left drama queen Leo for persnickety Virgo at 9:15 PM ET. Bye-bye drama queens; hello fussbudgets. Planning a cosmetic surgery when Venus is in Virgo? Perfection may be elusive. Venus leaves Virgo on October 14th. On FRIDAY, the Sun leaves Virgo for Libra at 4:02 PM ET. This is the autumnal equinox, the start of a new season and a turning point. Watch for leaders and other movers and shakers to pull greater than average focus in the headlines through the rest of the week.

The Sabian Symbol for this Virgo New Moon is “a bald-headed man who has seized power.” Rumor has it that baldness is more prevalent in men with higher levels of testosterone. This does not appear to be based on fact; but the myth of the macho bald-headed man clues us in to what we are likely to see in the headlines during this lunar cycle. The keyword is DOMINANCE through the use of personal power, according to Sabian Symbol guru Blain Bovee. Well, power broker Pluto will turn direct on September 28th, the same day we will have the third in a series of disruptive, pie-in-the-sky oppositions between expansive Jupiter and techno shockjock Uranus. If you have a planet or angle around 27 degrees of Virgo, Gemini, Sagittarius or Pisces, this New Moon may spark action from your inner dictator.  Consult your local astrologer for details.

And now, more news.

In the wake of last week’s potentially cutting and ambitious square between Sun and Saturn, a last-gasp effort to rip health care away from millions of Americans has surfaced. The Graham-Cassidy bill will repeal the Affordable Care Act and replace it with Something Else, because…well…let these nine U.S. Senators “explain” what the bill will do and why it is good. Just keep in mind that all of this “explaining” is being done under planetary patterns (Mars, Mercury, Neptune) we often see in the horoscopes of  con artists and other persons who are Not As They Seem.

Yesterday, transiting Venus triggered August’s Big Fat Eclipse when it hit 28 degrees of Leo, right on P45’s Ascendant. Venus rules his Midheaven (career/public status) and his 3rd House of mindset and blah blah blah communication. A planet triggering an eclipse can release a surge of energy; for P45, it was a keynote address at the United Nations, in which he “vowed to ‘totally destroy North Korea.’  if North Korea threatened the United States”. Note that North Korea has its Saturn at 28 Leo, its horoscope was triggered, too. One wonders what planets in Mother Nature’s horoscope are at 28 Leo, with Hurricane Maria hammering the Caribbean and an 8.1 quake in Mexico City yesterday.

Here’s a story about a glamorous public figure with Neptune opposing her Mercury, Venus and Mars in her natal horoscope, Her natal Venus is at 28 Taurus, also affected by the eclipse.  Today, she speaks out: “Melania Trump to condemn bullying at U.N. luncheon.” For real?

Meanwhile, I saw a ton of stories reflecting the potential of “diversity, technology, humanitarians, quirky comedians and pioneering women” anticipated for the weekend, including virtually every story in the Sunday NYT’s Week in Review.  Sunday’s Emmy Awards also reflected those keywords — just look at Variety’sFive Key Takeaways from Emmys 2017.”   Elsewhere, Hillary Clinton was one of many offering “stirring” eulogies for Edith Windsor, who passed away last week at 88.  Ms. Windsor also embodied planetary patterns at the time of her death, which we’ve seen over and over again. From her  NYT obituary:

(Ms. Windsor’s)  landmark case led the Supreme Court to grant same-sex married couples federal recognition for the first time and rights to a host of federal benefits that until then only married heterosexuals had enjoyed…

Last but not least, an UPDATE on John Kelly. This retired general is working overtime to bring order and discipline to the White House as its Chief of Staff. He has Mars and Saturn in uber-organized Virgo, so this is helpful. However, as noted in a prior post, transiting Neptune is opposing his natal Saturn. Yes, his ambition has likely become a vision for him this year — perhaps even a quixotic quest. But Neptune in hard aspect to Saturn can turn ordinary reality into a bewildering slog through Wonderland. Transiting Saturn squaring Kelly’s Mars (action) may further ambition or simply be frustrating…and it is possible that his Pisces Moon is feeling the isolating squeeze of Saturn, too. Here is what that might look like,  if those transits ever happen to you:

…and here is the story behind that photo.

Thank you for reading this forecast.

Friday 9/15/2017 & the Weekend: Another Brick in the Wall (Saturn Square Sun in the News)

TGIF!

Happy end of the work week , on a day driven by the Moon in emotional security-seeking Cancer. Note that such security needs may be subject to a power play, emotional catharsis and/or an upset, as the Moon makes its weekly clash with Pluto and Uranus, exact at 10:50 PM ET last night and 5:23 PM ET this evening. I wouldn’t be surprised by a surprise in the headlines that breaks as most of us are toddling off to happy hour. No doubt it will be a story the PTB are hoping No One Will Notice.

Softening the edges of the Moon’s weekly Pluto-Uranus clash is a protective, generous harmony between Venus and Jupiter, the planets associated with good fortune. I promised you a sweet story and here’s one CNN delivered straight to my emailbox: Actress Selena Gomez reveals that her BFF gave her a kidney. Venus rules kidneys, and Jupiter is nothing if not generous. Plus, it’s in Libra, one of the signs Venus rules. Sweet! Also sweet: the improvised IED that injured 22 commuters in London this morning only partially exploded. It could have been much worse…

At 5:23 PM ET, Moon goes void, not to enter the next sign — rip roarin’ Leo — until 9:09 PM ET. Party on, dudes — through the weekend. There is no Moon void to prevent you from scooping up treasures at your local yard sale on SATURDAY or SUNDAY (during yard sale hours). Shop away, noting only the potentially for sharp words and deeds around 3:01 PM ET on Saturday, when Mercury (words) and Mars (deeds) meet up in perfectionist Virgo.

On Sunday, show off your humanitarian spirit and hang with your most unconventional friends, as Venus (women, aesthetics, money) and rebel Uranus harmonize on MONDAY at 12:25 AM ET.  Moon goes void on Sunday at 8:55PM ET — but moves into Virgo at 12:52 AM ET on MONDAY. No sleeping in.  Clean up on Aisle 7.  Note that Venus will be at 28 Leo on Monday, triggering the August 21st Big Fat Solar Eclipse. What will be revealed?

And now, the news.

Harvard, thy name is repressive, judgmental, patriarchal Saturn in Sagittarius square Virgo Sun. This week it rescinded invitations extended to not one, but two,  Women Deemed to have Not Suffered Enough. First, it rescinded a Visiting Fellowship extended to former military intelligence analyst Chelsea Manning, who was invited to teach at the Kennedy School’s Institute of Politics. Ms. Manning is almost through her first Saturn return, a time for gravitas and advance. Not only will Saturn meet up with her Sagittarius Saturn this fall, but it will also hit her Sag Sun and Mercury. That can feel depressing.

Second, Harvard rescinded a doctoral program acceptance offered to Michelle Jones, who served two decades in prison for a terrible, terrible crime. While in prison, she became an award-winning scholar. Saturn-Sun patterns suggests one is forever guilty. If Neptune were pulling focus in the cosmos this week, we’d be seeing more stories about compassion and forgiveness.

When reached for comment, Harvard blamed its change of mind on Mercury turning direct on September.

Surely I  jest. But Saturn-Sun patterns are decidedly not funny. There is nothing amusing about the ambitious initiative literally launched by North Korea this week, in the form of another missile over Japan. Threats to “sink Japan” and reduce the U.S. to “ashes and darkness” were also not funny, and no astrologer who anticipated this escalation takes joy in seeing it in the news.

Seriously tough luck: there is no one left on the island of Barbuda, which was effectively demolished by Hurricane Irma. All residents were evacuated to Antigua. In St. Martin/St. Maarten, residents contemplate rebuilding from the ground up.

Meanwhile, three former Google employees filed a suit against their former employer, alleging it pays women less than men holding similar jobs. Silly Google. Perhaps this story will help it rethink its sexist attitude: “DNA Proves Women Were Viking Warriors, Too”

This Saturn-Sun square directly affects the horoscope of Hillary Clinton. How interesting to see her the focal point of a national discussion about misogyny — for the umpteenth time. Her book is out and she’s been making the rounds with no sugar-coated commentary. Yet 61% of those polled say they wish she would go away. Nevertheless, she’s persisted…even when weirdo Neptune types like convicted “Pharma Bro” fraudster Martin Shkreli put a $5000 bounty on a lock of hair from Ms. Clinton’s head. “We can expect disruptive/risky/innovation action and persuasive communication from Mr. Shkreli throughout the year,” I wrote in June. The judge in his case revoked his bail — Shkreli is now in jail.

Did I mention healing and compassion earlier? The Sun-Saturn square directly affects the U.S. Neptune (healing, compassion). Could this reflect the noise coming from Washington about P45 agreeing to agree with the Democrats and not ruin the lives of the 800,000 “Dreamers?” And what — no border wall? For today, anyway. Or yesterday. Or whatever. Is there a double-talking Gemini with Mercury (mindset) square Neptune (fog, lies) in the White House? Yes.

Meanwhile, perhaps Sum-Saturn on the U.S. Neptune made it an apt time for Bernie Sanders to introduce (again) a bill for universal health care. Too ambitious? Or just getting real? It was backed by 15 Democrats — a record.  Senator Sanders is sure to be a persuasive force for years to come, with transiting Pluto making contact with his pioneering Aries Moon and Mars, as well as his Venus in Libra.

UPDATE: on Bill Clinton’s horoscope, whose Leo Sun was directly affected by the Big Fat Solar Eclipse on August 21st — and also by the one at the exact same degree on August 21, 1998. The History Channel has greenlit a six-episode series about his impeachment.  The timing is perfectly is sync with planetary patterns. Astrology is amazing.

Meanwhile, on the plus side — Saturn-Sun patterns suggest opportunities to plan for an advance, as in “How to Plan for a Major Career Change.” Part of that planning could also include a session with your local astrologer.

Have a great weekend — and enjoy the Emmys on Sunday. Should be a grand night for diversity, technology, humanitarians, quirky comedians and pioneering women. Moon will be void in drama queen Leo after 9PM ET — expect a few twists, flakes and underdog wins.

Thank you for reading this forecast.

Monday 9/11/2017: Sneak Peak at the Week; Saturn Grabs Headlines

Good Morning!

The slow start to your work week from an astrological perspective is suggested by the Taurus Moon being void as of  8:54PM ET Sunday. It wanders without focus until 3:29PM ET today. Roll with whatever twists and flakes disrupt your efforts to move forward in a straight line. Crises that crop up during voids often turn out to be much ado about nothing. Stick to routine…and since the Moon is in Taurus, do something that makes you feel materially secure and comfortable.

Information and chatter drive the rest of the day, once the Moon enters Gemini. Around 10:42 PM ET, be advised that the Moon will be challenged by Mars, spoiling for an outburst about a perceived lack of perfection, perhaps.

Saturn (structure, patriarchy, authority) is in harmony with Venus (what we value; how we express ourselves socially) — exact on TUESDAY at 8:49PM ET. The former is in opinionated, boundary-pushing Sagittarius; the latter is in regal Leo. So we see an opportunity for serious strides to be advanced regarding money, women, aesthetics — expressed with drama and flair. Exhibit A: Read the extremely complex, often political Q&A portion of the Miss America pageant, says today’s WaPo. Beauty queens with righteous political opinions? I’m there — with a special shout-out to Miss North Dakota, the underdog winner who claimed her crown during last night’s underdog-favoring Moon void.

Random Moon-void thought: if the U.S. presidential election had included a swimsuit and evening gown competition, which candidate would have won?

The easy flow of Saturn in harmony with Venus would seem to contrast with the heaviest pattern of the week: a challenging square between Saturn and the  Virgo Sun (leaders, ego recogition; life force), exact on WEDNESDAY.   Here are some news items from a Sun-Saturn square in 2014. This can be seriously sobering — particularly if you are a head of state or some other fearless leader. For some it is an opportunity for advance. For others, it may be an encounter with a brick wall. You’ll feel the push forward or block either way more personally if you have a planet or angle at 21 degrees of Pisces, Sagittarius, Virgo and Gemini.

A sweet cooperation between Venus and Jupiter helps smooth ruffled feathers in the wake of the Saturn-Sun cuts. Remember that sweetness on SATURDAY at 3:01 PM ET, when Mercury and Mars meet up for the third time in recent week. Mercury and Mars together in Virgo may forcefully separate the wheat from the chaff.

Other than today, the Moon will be void on WEDNESDAY  2:35 PM – 6:12 PM ET and FRIDAY 5:23 PM ET – 9:09 PM ET.

And now, the news.

Hurricane Irma traveled as anticipated, in synch with planetary patterns. Initially projected to head up Florida’s East Coast, that projection changed by Saturday AM, on an early morning upset suggested by the Moon’s square with disruptive Uranus. Irma was definitely heading West. The Moon left RAMbunctious Aries at 12:23 PM ET and settled into stability-seeking Taurus. Mercury left rip-roarin’ Leo at 10:52 PM Saturday for cooler, earthy Virgo. Moon went void Sunday at 8:54PM ET, fizzling the Moon’s focus and drive. By then, Irma had been downgraded from at Cat 5 to a Cat 2 — strong enough to do damage, but not nearly as much as feared.   Coincidence or conspiracy?

Meanwhile, the strongest earthquake to hit Mexico in over a century — a devastating 8.2 –– hit in the early morning hours of Friday’s Aries Moon. Elsewhere, I’ve been meaning to include news of the mess in Myanmar, which 300,000 Rohingya Muslims have fled since August 25th, the day Saturn in Sagittarius (foreigners; religion; control; borders) turned direct. Why? “A textbook example of ethnic cleansing,” says the UN human rights chief.

In other news, wildfires made headlines in the Pacific Northwest, Southern California and Greenland, of all places.  It’s also a mess in St. Martin/St. Maarten and other islands hit by Irma as a Cat 5. Food and shelter are in short supply. And the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey is far from over, with many residents left homeless. Bottom line: do you think the total solar eclipse was an accurate harbinger of natural disasters (especially last week, when the eclipse was triggered by Mercury and Mars)?

More headlines reflecting secrets revealed, suggested by the eclipse: Equifax was hacked — bigtime. Equifax is one of the three major credit agencies in the U.S. The personal data of 143 million Americans — half the population — was likely compromised. The hack happened weeks ago — only now is it being revealed (naturally). Forbes offers these tips to protect your credit, because Equifax really isn’t offering much.

Meant to post this one from last week’s opposition between the Sun and Neptune (water, oil, plastic). Plastic fibers have been detected in tap water around the world –– the U.S. has the highest percentage — 94% of all samples tested. Plastic fibres have also been found in sea salt.

Surely there must be some good news in synch with planetary patterns, right? Yes. Here’s one. Sun trine Pluto (Pluto refers to malignancy) plus Sun square Saturn (skin, control):  Australian researchers find two ways to stop melanoma from spreading and killing patients, reports the Sydney Morning Herald.

Elsewhere, all of the famous polydactyl cats at the Ernest Hemingway House in Key West are fine.

RIP — almost. The Cassini spacecraft, which has orbited Saturn for past 13 years, is scheduled to plunge to its fiery death on Friday, September 15th.  Cassini launched on October 15, 1997 — at 4:43AM in Cape Canaveral. How curious to see that Cassini’s launch horoscope has the Sun and Mercury at 22 and 23 Libra, where transiting Jupiter (expansion) is right now. The horoscope also has the Moon in pioneering Aries, moving to a meet-up with….Saturn! Isn’t astrology amazing? Here is the NASA timeline for Cassini’s impending demise.

Meanwhile, Caroline Kennedy’s horoscope has recovered from the streamlining cut it had in January. That’s when transiting Saturn crossed her Sagittarius Ascendant, and she was dismissed from her post as the U.S. ambassador to Japan. Patterns in her horoscope are more expansive now. The lunar eclipse on August 7th was exactly on her Moon at 15 Aquarius, suggesting a change in domestic affairs. Meanwhile, transiting Jupiter returned to its natal position at 23 Libra a few days ago. That definitely suggests expansion. So what happened? The wedding of her daughter, Tatiana — on Saturday. A potential expansion is suggested in John F. Kennedy’s horoscope, too. Transiting Jupiter squares his 23 Cancer Midheaven. The horoscope lives forever!

Thursday 9/7/2017 & the Weekend: The Calm Before the Storm

Allll- righty then!

As of 8:01 AM ET the Moon is in me-me-me Aries, driving the day with a need to inspire, and — if it’s on its best behavior — fiercely champion the underdog. Humming in the background is a power-consolidating harmony between the Sun and Pluto, exact on Sunday. Forge ahead — though do be advised that Mercury, planet of communication and travel, is just getting back up to speed after turning direct on Tuesday. Easy does it in all matters of thinking, speaking and getting from Point A to Point B.

Power plays and potential disruption of the status quo may rear their heads around midday ET on FRIDAY; early morning ET on SATURDAY, as the Aries Moon is rattled by its weekly clash with Pluto and Uranus.

Moon enters Taurus on SATURDAY at 12:23 PM ET — and if we are really lucky, Mother Nature will respect the Taurus need for material comfort, security and stability. Mercury re-enters Virgo at 10:52 PM ET — may cooler analytical heads prevail through September 29th.

Moon goes void on SUNDAY at 8:54 PM ET…not to enter Gemini until 3:29PM ET on MONDAY. A slow start to the next work week — yes, you can sleep in.

And now, the news.

UPDATE:  Michelle Obama, whose horoscope is performing exactly as anticipated on October 17, 2016.

What does her horoscope suggest in the near-term future? We immediately see the potential for a declaration of individualism in the late spring and summer of next year, as transiting Uranus challenges  her no-nonsense Capricorn Sun. This streak carries into the spring of 2018.

Michelle Obama just ripped up the playbook for former First Ladies,”  says WaPo. What’s causing such a stir?

After more than a decade in public life, can she freely shed the sheath dress and pearls for a wide brim black hat and dookie braids?

She just did.

By allowing herself to be photographed alongside 15 other members of Beyoncé’s inner circle, Obama reclaimed her image from the annals of stodgy first lady portraits…

I would not be surprised to see another statement of independence from Mrs. Obama around mid-October.

Meanwhile, I am so glad I wrote about the Sabian Symbols for yesterday’s Full Moon in Pisces, even though I wasn’t quite sure how they might be relevant in the headlines. “A lady in a fox fur” represents 14 Pisces, suggesting “cunning” and “camouflage for family protection,” according to Sabian Symbol guru Blain Bovee.

Guess who WaPo is calling “crazy like a fox” in today’s news? Not Michelle Obama.  Nay, ’tis P45 — because of his jaw-dropping decision to go along with the Democrats — a.k.a. “Chuck and Nancy” in a deal to kick the can down the road another three months and fund the federal government  and hurricane relief at least through December. It is totally worth it to subscribe to WaPo, just read in full a prescient interview with Michael Steele from last fall:

So, let me just say straight up that, in answer to your question, the Republican Party still has this fight to go through, and they still have this reckoning. Because what they’ve done is they’ve elected someone who was not of their caste. … He’s not a Republican in the sense that Paul Ryan is a Republican or Reince Priebus is a Republican. He is a guy who is a populist, and he was able to — as we saw with Bernie Sanders — shake up the system.

“Not of their caste,” i.e., “a lady in fox fur.?” Well. I did say we could expect bipartisan efforts this week in the aftermath of the Aug 27th Jupiter-Saturn sextile, right? But if it’s coming from P45, the Sabian Symbol suggests the motive has more to do with self-preservation than authentic cooperation. P45 Jr was summoned to the Senate today to explain why he took a meeting with that Russian lady lawyer who claimed to have dirt on Hillary Clinton. And son-in-law Jared Kushner may have helped Russian operatives buy targeted  political ads on Facebook, etc., etc., etc.

In other news, House Speaker Paul Ryan, interviewed in today’s NYT, says P45 “wanted a bipartisan moment;” i.e. no “partisan fight over hurricane aid.”  P45 is reportedly thrilled thrilled thrilled with the positive media coverage…and to further confound Republican members of Congress, he tweeted “reassurances” to those 800,000 young DACA immigrants that they do not need to worry about being deported. He did this at the behest of Nancy Pelosi, the leader of the Democrats in the House.

Enough with the politics. This one is fun. There’s another element to the “lady in a fox fur.” Blain Bovee notes that a “fox” is archaically a name for a sword, and also “a name for the sheath of a sword, echoing the covering theme.” Then he goes into a discussion of how King Arthur concealed his true identity as boy, up until the moment he pulled the sword Excalibur out of a stone. And as I was reading that passage a couple of nights ago, this story broke: Girl Pulls Sword from Lake of King Arthur’s Excalibur.  Coincidence or conspiracy?

Under this week’s Sun-Neptune opposition, it makes sense to see a magical story making headlines. Empathy, faith, dreams, betrayal, plastics and water water everywhere would also be apt. Back to politics, because it seems it is the only thing making news apart from hurricanes. Thus in the US, P45 had giddy hatchet elf Jeff Sessions announce the end of DACA — potentially deporting 800,000 U.S. taxpayers — a.k.a. “Dreamers” —   unless Congress passes a law that allows them to stay within six months. Who took credit for the six-month delay? P45’s Evangelical Advisory Board.   There’s your Sun-Neptune theme of faith. Meanwhile,  I’ll just leave this one here: Russians Flock to Trump Properties to Give Birth to U.S. Citizens.

ECLIPSE UPDATE: Keith Schiller, one of P45’s closest associates, has left the White House. P45 is “crushed,” says People magazine.  With the eclipse falling on P45’s Ascendant, we can see the potential for relationships to suddenly end. In other news, Steve Bannon will be interviewed on 60 Minutes this Sunday. His Moon was likely eclipsed on August 21st and activated this week by  transiting Mars (action) and Mercury (communication). Action action blah blah blah, driven by a need to be perfectly right….pushed into the spotlight. Eclipsed.

Not eclipsed — and  in honor of this week’s trine between the exacting Virgo Sun and Pluto, craters, plains and mountains on Pluto have officially been named.

Last but not least, author, artist, educator and radical feminist Kate Millett passed away. “She is best known for her book Sexual Politics (1970), which became the cornerstone of the modern feminist movement, followed by another novel in 1974 and her autobiography in 1977″, says her Wikipedia biography. Why did she need to be so radical?

A quick glance at her horoscope reveals rebel Uranus right on a feisty, pioneering Aries Ascendant — supercharging a willful Mars in Leo and Jupiter in Libra.  “Pioneering” — that’s how she’s remembered  in this obit published in the Guardian.  Oh — and that Mars is in the 5th House of love, love, love — reflected in this quote from her obit, “Let’s always be having an affair. Wherever we meet, however many times a year – let it always be an affair.”

Ms. Millett was a Virgo with Moon in righteously opinionated Sagittarius. Her Sun at 21 Virgo was under a streamlining squeeze all year, thanks to transiting Saturn. The second of three challenging squares was August 4th; the third is September 15th, one day after her 83rd birthday. She passed away in Paris, where she was celebrating her upcoming solar return with her wife. A romantic to the end…

To Avid Readers in Irma’s path (and those digging out from Harvey) — may you find yourselves out of harm’s way. Please stay safe.

Tuesday 9/5/2017: Sneak Peek at a Shortened Week: Mercury Direct; Mars Enters Virgo

Easy does it, as the work week begins.

Lots of action while you are sleeping early TUESDAY morning (with Mercury retrograde, naturally I misteakenly wrote last week that this was all happening on MONDAY. I hate it when that happens; apologies for the error. Really, it’s all happening on September 5th).

First,  a face-off between the Moon and Mars at 1:15 AM ET suggests provocative action. Moon then goes void for several minutes and enters Pisces at 1:28 AM ET. Another face-off between the Sun and Neptune happens at exactly the same time ET; we’ve been feeling this one all week. Neptune refers to the surreal, oil, chemicals, toxins, spirits of all kinds, water, oceans, floods, refugees, faith and charity. Here’s what was going on in the news in the wake of the annual Sun-Neptune opposition in 2015.

But wait, there’s more. Mars leaves regal Leo for perfectionist Virgo at 5:35 AM, channeling its action/assertion drive into making things right. Extreme patience and focus in all travel/communication is advised, as Mercury turns direct at 7:30 AM.

Note that the Pisces Moon will travel through day without interference, waxing to its fullness on WEDNESDAY at 3:03AM ET. Two hours before the Full Moon is exact, it meets up with Neptune, planet of faith, dreams, healing, oil, water, delusion, spirits, refugees, victims, chemicals.  This can be dreamy or deceptive…and perhaps a little bit of both.

In the wake of Wednesday’s Full Moon, we will have a heavy challenge from Saturn (control, patriarchy, ambition) at 4:29PM ET. Then the Moon goes void until THURSDAY at 8:01 AM ET, when it charges off a cliff in pioneering, me-me-me Aries.

On FRIDAY, the Aries Moon makes its weekly clash with Pluto at 1:49 PM ET. This suggests a power play and/or an emotional catharsis. On SATURDAY, Moon is opposed by rebel Uranus at 8:54 AM ET. Humming in the background all week is a trine (harmony) between the Sun (leaders) and Pluto (power, plutonium, news from underground, corruption). Here’s a headline reflecting the Sun-Pluto trine from last year:

Add the power/resources consolidation of the Sun trine Pluto and say hi to what could be the largest energy infrastructure company in America: the merger of Spectra and Enbridge.

Finally, on Saturday at 10:52 PM ET, Mercury stops shouting “Off with their heads!” in Leo and re-enters Virgo, where it may now dedicate itself to thoughts of order, refinement, service and humility. We hope.

The chart for the Full Moon, set in Washington DC, has disruptive Uranus and Pluto in contact with the Midheaven and the Ascendant, a.k.a. the angles of the horoscope.  Heavy planets making tense contact with the angles of a horoscope reflect strong potential for action.

The Sabian Symbols for this Full Moon at 14 Pisces vs. the Sun at 14 Virgo offer these insights.  “A lady in a fox fur stole” is the Symbol for 14 Pisces, suggesting, writes astrologer Blain Bovee, “cunning camouflage for family protection.” Just imagine this lady gliding through society, effortlessly, putting out an image of belonging. What’s her real agenda? 14 Pisces was the Symbol for the New Moon in March of 2011.

For the Sun at  14 degrees of Virgo, and the Sabian Symbol is “a family tree.”  Again with the family ties? How will that play out in the headlines? Even if you do not feel that you belong, act as if…???  This was the Symbol for the New Moon in September 2013.

Meanwhile, if you follow Tarot Diva Beth Owlsdaughter’s weekly card pulls (always in sync with planetary patterns), you may remember her writing  that last week’s card was the Six of Swords — challenging perhaps, but not as challenging as the Five. So guess what card showed up this week.…bwahahahaha…

This week, take your time adjusting to Mercury’s forward direction. Breathe. Go with the Moon in Pisces flow.  And take Beth Owlsdaughter’s wise words to heart:

In your own world this week, be extra careful not to make enemies. Instead, approach any potential conflict with candor and scrupulous honesty. Whenever possible, first stretch out the hand of peace and magnanimity.

Beware of the temptations of malicious gossip, half-truths with an agenda, and gloating over any advantage you may currently enjoy in a competitive situation.

On the other hand, have you been defeated or cheated out of something by a wily and cunning opponent? Do you feel you have suffered because of someone’s cowardliness, ego, or malice?

Perhaps now is the time to walk away while you can. A strategic retreat may be the wisest move.

Take extra care to protect what is valuable to you, and be careful about people who would wield their power in underhanded, dishonest ways, as well as any urge to do so on your part. Infamy and trickery are floating in the air.

Winning at any price will not really vanquish a competitor. People will always remember how they were made to feel. This is why sooner or later, the payback always comes. Fairness and justice, eventually, must be served.

And now, the news.

Thrilled to report cosmic headlines reflecting the far-out potential of Mars in harmony with Uranus; wiggy Sun opposing Neptune:

In other news…

Secrets coming out — past actions REviewed — as anticipated — in the wake of last month’s Big Fat solar eclipse and Mercury retrograde. You’ve seen the story that broke on Friday, yes?  Alex Wubbels — the Utah nurse who was arrested on July 26th because she refused to be bullied by a police detective who wanted to illegally obtain a patient’s blood sample? The arrest — and assault — was caught on tape.  It looks like what you’d expect to see on July 26th: the regal Leo Sun meeting up with regal Leo Mars, trying to get away with murder.

Turns out the unconscious patient whose rights Nurse Wubbels defended (in accordance with the law) — works in law enforcement. Talk about a backfire for the aptly named Officer Payne. The patient’s police department thanked Nurse Wubbels. And effective immediately, police officers visiting that Utah hospital will no longer be permitted to contact nurses, nor will they be allowed in patient care areas.  Where was Mercury on July 26th? 1 Virgo — where it was last week and will return again over the weekend. Stay tuned…

Revealed:  the DOJ confirms that P45’s assertion of having “wires tapped”  by President Obama was “a total fabrication”

Revealed: a WWII bomb discovered in a construction site in Frankfurt forces the evacuation of 60,000

Revealed: UK at center of big fat money laundering scheme in Azerbaijan

Revealed, bigtime — coupled with the explosive potential of Mars meeting up with Mercury on North Korea’s recently eclipsed Saturn  — this heavy, sobering WaPo headline: North Korea defies predictions — again — with early grasp of weapons milestone

Cleraly the Washington Post does not appreciate the value of astrology — otherwise it would not write that this dreadful development “defied predictions.” Astrologers who write about these things have warned of this potential at this time for months.  The explosion resulted in a 6.3 quake on the Richter scale, and it’s all terribly bewildering. Couldn’t North Korea find something better to do?

And how exactly do North Koreans get their news? From the “pink lady” newscaster, of course — with clips provided by The Guardian. On a day with the Sun opposing Neptune, color the apocalypse weird and rose…and send out thoughts of peace and calm.

U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley has her work cut out for her. I hope to find time one day to write about her horoscope.

Congress is back in session. In the aftermath of last week’s Jupiter-Saturn sextile, will bipartisanship save the day? Meanwhile, Hurricane Irma is on its way — so let’s end on this happy note:

UPDATE: Prince William, whose horoscope was discussed on August 10th, including this observation:

In 2018, transiting Uranus will oppose  his 2 degree Scorpio Midheaven, suggesting a disruption in the family and in his professional status. That opposition occurs twice next summer: on July 23rd and August 28th, accompanied by another measurement between the Sun and Venus. Sun-Venus measurements suggest a focus on love, popularity, creativity and/or birth

Today it was announced that Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge — a.k.a. Kate Middleton — is pregnant. Made me smile. Life goes on…

Friday 9/1/2017 & the Holiday Weekend: Eclipse Triggers Ahead

TGIF!

A proactive Moon in Capricorn ends the work week, encouraging you to get it all done before the holiday weekend (Labor Day, here in the U.S.). Note your dreams upon waking, as the Moon will be in touch with visionary Neptune at 6:22 AM ET. Then get ready for the next few days of all sorts of bottlenecked energies busting out. Why? Because Mercury has re-entered Leo and it’s about to meet up with Mars at 28 Leo, triggering the degree of last week’s Big Fat Solar Eclipse. Mercury refers to communication. Mars refers to action and assertion. Leo is fiery, willful, playful, regal, dramatic and stubborn. Make it so!

At 2:28 PM ET the Moon makes its weekly clash with ruthless Pluto, suggesting power plays and emotional catharses, for better or worse. SATURDAY at 12:30 PM ET, the Moon clashes with Uranus, suggesting a disruption of the status quo. Moon then goes void until 4:06 PM ET. Moon then enters humanitarian, who’s-yer-buddy Aquarius for the rest of the holiday weekend – perfect for hanging with your new best friends. A tech savvy alliance between Mars and Uranus favors innovative action — this has been in effect all week and will be exact tomorrow at 8:13 AM ET. See how it blends with the wiggy potential of next week’s Sun-Neptune opposition in this story:  Dr Con Man: the rise and fall of a celebrity scientist who fooled almost everyone.

The eclipse-triggering meet-up between Mercury and Mars happens at 5:39 AM ET on SUNDAY.

Lots of action while you are sleeping early MONDAY morning. A face-off between the Moon and Mars at 1:15 AM ET suggests provocative action in the hours beforehand. Another face-off between the Sun and Neptune happens at 1:25 AM ET; we’ve been feeling this one all week.

Or, as John McCain says in a WaPo op-ed,  “It’s time Congress returns to regular order.” Off the top of my head, the horoscopes of P45, Steve Bannon, Stephen Miller and the city of Houston will be directly affected that day. Extreme patience and focus in all travel/communication is advised, as Mercury turns direct at 7:30 AM. The Moon will be Pisces, waxing to its fullness on TUESDAY at 3:03AM ET. Empathy, compassion and water rising — with something about to be illuminated or released.

And now, the news.

UPDATE: on P45, who is living life as forecast months and months ago. Reflecting restrictive Saturn’s big squeeze on his Sun and Moon, I submit these headlines for your consideration:

And so it goes, with P45 doing his best to make everyone else feel as miserable as he is, e.g., Donald Trump to end ‘Dreamers’ immigration program.

Reflecting a focus on chemicals and toxins suggested by the Sun-Neptune opposition:  New Hazard in Storm Zone: Chemical Blasts and ‘Noxious’ Smoke — this is happening in Houston, with more likely to follow. FYI, the New York Times and the Washington Post have suspended their paywalls in deference to Hurricane Harvey. There’s a ton of great investigative journalism to be found — dive in! Or  you can REview a series published last year by Pro Publica, explaining why Hurricane Harvey was just waiting to happen:

Scientists, other experts and federal officials say Houston’s explosive growth is largely to blame. As millions have flocked to the metropolitan area in recent decades, local officials have largely snubbed stricter building regulations, allowing developers to pave over crucial acres of prairie land that once absorbed huge amounts of rainwater. That has led to an excess of floodwater during storms that chokes the city’s vast bayou network, drainage systems and two huge federally owned reservoirs, endangering many nearby homes…

Now getting off the soap box and noting that floods are pulling focus all over the world today, as the Sydney Morning Herald reports.

Neptune hot in the cosmos suggests fraud making headlines. Mercury retrograde suggests a REview. Today in Kenya:   Supreme Court annuls presidential election result for irregularities, orders new vote .  Just like that.   And this: Radio host and accused Ponzi schemer used ‘hoodoo spell’ to thwart probe, feds say. Surreal.

Who remembers last month’s post about the current semi-square between rebel Uranus and wiggy Neptune? It’s the next step in a cycle that began in the early 1990s, when Uranus and Neptune met up in Establishment Capricorn, dissolving boundaries in Establishment structures and looking something like this:

NYT op-ed writer David Friend has no idea he’s writing about the Uranus-Neptune cycle, but he is when he notes a pattern that appears to be repeating:  The 1990s Gave Us the Trump Teens.  Wait until Saturn enters Capricorn in January 2018, retracing the steps it made in mid 1988-1991.

Meanwhile, other pundits have no idea they’re writing about the Uranus-Pluto cycle when they note a similarity between this decade, the early 30s and the mid-60s. One of the similarities is illustrated by this disturbing story: a Utah nurse was arrested in July because she refused to be bullied by a police detective who wanted to obtain a patient’s blood sample without patient consent or a warrant. In other words, she was upholding the law, supported by her supervisors. The arrest — and assault — was caught on tape. The detective still has a job.

What’s going on in your horoscope? Here’s the 411 on consultations and reports.

Thank you for reading this forecast — and have a great holiday weekend!
