"I was blown away. It was so different from anything I imagined...more direct than psychiatry or psychology...and cheaper! I left the session with a feeling of control and confidence. Worth a dozen therapy sessions.
Thank you!"

Friday 5/12/2017 & the Weekend: It’s a Mad, Mad World

Happy Wiggy Weekend!

Writing this minutes after a foggy challenge between the boundary-pushing Moon and Neptune, exact at 5:09PM ET. Coming up next: a face-off between Mars and Moon at 6:45 PM ET, suggesting a provocative clash of righteous opinion. Choose your battles carefully.

On SATURDAY, the Sagittarius Moon drives the day with a need to get out of Dodge. Expand your mind; take a walk in the woods. Shop if you must. Watch the headlines for a potentially heavy focus around 6:56 PM ET, when the Moon’s fiery enthusiasm is streamlined by sobering Saturn. This too, shall pass. Moon goes void at 10:14 PM ET and enters practical, enterprising Capricorn at 1:37 AM ET on SUNDAY.

There are no exact aspects for much of Mother’s Day — only a square to the Moon from Venus in me-me-me Aries. Take Mom out to brunch instead of dinner and you may avoid a potential clash of aesthetic values and expression. No sleeping in on MONDAY. The Capricorn Moon’s “make it happen” drive starts off big. Watch for power plays and disruptions in the evening and into the wee hours on TUESDAY.

And now, the news.

Oh what a tangled web we weave. Thanks, Mars square Neptune! The NYT’s funny female columnist — Gail Collins — did not write this week, but the Washington Post has a funny female columnist, too. Here is Alexandra Petri’s  latest “comPost” offering about tangled webs and poison, so apt for a Mars square Neptune day. I became aware of Ms. Petri after another column she wrote, “Trump’s budget makes perfect sense and will fix America, and I will tell you why”  was linked on the White House website, presumably intended to demonstrate support for the proposal…with unintended consequences.

Also in the spirit of Mars square Neptune — and in the same vein as above. The Washington Times (one of Antonin Scalia’s two favorite newspapers) ran this headline, “Trump’s lawyers: 10 years of tax returns show no ‘income of any type from Russian sources’“. OK, case closed — let’s move on — right? If you only read the Washington Times — and, like some White House staffers — only read the headlines, that’s exactly what you would conclude and rightly so.

But if you get your news from more than one source, you would have also read  “Trump Lawyers Say He Had No Russian Income or Debt, With Some Exceptions,” because in fact, that is what his lawyers said.  Peruse a few other media outlets and you would have learned that the “Lawyers who said Trump has no ties to Russia (were) named Russian law firm of 2016” . Hey, it’s no big deal — and there’s an easy explanation: Morgan-Lewis, the law firm in question, is now the only law firm in the entire United States. P45 had no choice but to hire them.

Where do you get your news? Consider multiple sources before leaping to conclusions. Both the Guardian and the NYT now feature a culling of articles from so-called left and right publications — recommended reading for greater understanding, peace, love and granola. Seriously.

Ooh look — it turns out NYT columnist Gail Collins did write this week — about the firing of James Comey and how press secretary Sean Spicer hid in the bushes on the White House grounds. Surreal? Mars square Neptune!

More on Mars and Neptune — pushed to great effort by a trine (harmony) with expansive Jupiter in Libra.  Mars is action. Neptune is drugs. Jupiter in Libra is the judicial system. What perfect timing for Attorney General Jeff Sessions (last discussed in this forecast here) to announce a huge directive ordering prosecutors to charge people with crimes carrying the harshest penalties instead of lesser ones. Reports the Guardian:

The move has long been expected from Sessions, a former federal prosecutor who cut his teeth at the height of the crack cocaine epidemic and who has promised to make combating violence and drugs the justice department’s top priority.

…The move amounts to an unmistakable undoing of Obama administration criminal justice policies that aimed to ease overcrowding in federal prisons and contributed to a national rethinking of how drug criminals were prosecuted and sentenced.

Elsewhere in the Guardian: Cary Grant: how 100 acid trips in Tinseltown ‘changed my life’  Now — Mars-Neptune patterns aside, why is this startling news about Cary Grant being reported NOW? Well, that’s easy. In Mr. Grant’s horoscope we see transiting Uranus at 25 Aries barreling down on his 25 Capricorn Mercury, his 26 Capricorn Sun and his  27 Libra Ascendant. Of course we’d read some startling news. It doesn’t matter that Mr. Grant has long since departed; the horoscope lives forever. And if you think that’s a cool concept, you can read an article I wrote on this topic for Mountain Astrologer .  Mr. Grant had Neptune running wild in his 9th House (of journeys and the higher mind). Trippy.

This is also trippy: Nicholas Sand, Chemist Who Sought to Bring LSD to the World, Dies at 75.

Meanwhile, Popularity of sushi has brought rise in parasitic infections, warn doctors. Neptune refers to seafood and infections; Mars refers to inflammation or attack. Next! “Locals dismayed as Trump’s EPA gives new life to controversial Alaska mine”. What does that have to do with Neptune? To find out, I actually read more than the  headline. Turns out that the mine — if brought to life — will threaten (Mars) one of the state’s main salmon fisheries (Neptune).

OOh….this is BIG and VIRAL (which Neptune also rules) “Malware, described in leaked NSA documents, cripples computers worldwide.” Whereas in the Democratic Republic of Congo, a new Ebola virus has broken out.

And to think, this long wiggy day Mars-Neptune-Jupiter day with Moon in boundary-pushing Sagittarius all began with a song from The Guess Who running through my head: “Undun” — about an acid trip gone horribly wrong. And then I logged onto my computer to find everyone talking about P45’s latest Tweetstorm at 8:26AM ET. The chart for that Tweet had 0 Cancer — the Aries Point — on the Ascendant. That’s suggests a need for prominence. Of course everyone was talking about it — and they still are.

Cue The Guess Who, now please: “She’s Come Undun…”

No sleeping in on Monday.
