Astro-logical Forecast for Monday 7/25/2016: Sneak Peek at the Week; Disruptive Communication in Focus

Good Morning!

Moon continues its charge through me-me-me Aries today. Arise, go forth and conquer. Note the potential for a power play, expose or emotional catharsis in the morning, as Moon makes its weekly clash with ruthless Pluto at 11:29AM ET.  The rest of the business day offers an easy flow of fiery regal communication, designed to lead and inspire, as the Moon harmonizes with Mercury and Venus at 12:48PM  ET and 10:55PM ET. Caveat: a disruption of the status quo or  revelation — possibly from some firebrand — may grace the late evening hours, as rebel Uranus meets up with the Aries Moon at 2:18AM ET on TUESDAY and then goes void. Hey — doesn’t Bernie Sanders have Moon in Aries? He does, and he’s speaking at the DNC on Monday.

Tuesday’s void may excuse or explain the slow start or twist in your morning routine. Once the Moon enters Taurus at 11:37 AM ET, the need is to settle down and focus on what brings you comfort and material security. Said need may be jarred by the Third Quarter Moon at 7PM ET, in which the comfort-seeking Moon has to deal with the Leo Sun’s need to shine. Hey — doesn’t Bill Clinton have Sun in Leo/Moon in Taurus? He does, and he’s speaking at the DNC on Tuesday.

Mercury, Mars and Uranus are the planets pulling focus this week. On Wednesday at 3:45AM ET, Mercury (ideas and communication) harmonizes with Uranus (genius, tech savviness). Look for brilliance, innovation and a we are the world spirit in the headlines.  Oh look, Verizon is buying Yahoo. See the themes of communication and technology?

Mercury squares off against Mars on Friday at 4:49PM ET in regal Leo and ruthless Scorpio, respectively. Watch, as communications become more combative and stubborn, with someone’s sterling reputation at stake.

Mercury leaves Leo for one of its home signs — Virgo — at 2:19PM ET on Saturday, where it will remain until October 7th. We are about to begin a very long exercise in analyzing and sorting, as Mercury turns retrograde on August 30th. We can be highly efficient or we can be hypercritical and neurotic. Which manifestation of Virgo would you prefer?

Meanwhile, rebel Uranus is at a virtual standstill, about to turn retrograde at 5:06PM ET on FRIDAY, minutes after that volatile Mercury-Mars square. Planets at their station (that’s the technical term for a planet about to change direction) carry greater intensity. We are sure to see a manifestation of this volatility in the headlines along any of these themes: accidents, seismic activity, aviation, rebellion, revolution or some other suddenly disruptive outburst of energy — including lightning bolts of truth. Please drive defensively.

When a planet is retrograde, the energy it represents is best expressed by turning inward, instead of outward. When direct, Uranus tends to rebel against the status quo set by others. When retrograde, Uranus needs to set itself free from limits that are self-imposed. That is your subtle mission over the next few months — and if you have a planet or angle around 24 Aries, Cancer, Capricorn or Libra, you may feel the internal buzz more than most.

Your Moon voids for the week — Tuesday 2:18AM – 11:37AM ET; Thursday 11:13AM – 2:17PM ET; Saturday 7:46AM – 5:06PMET. No shopping sprees and no finalizing critical decisions during voids, if you please. Focus on routine concerns and roll with the twists that may thwart your efforts to move forward in a straight line. Chill!

And now, the news.

More on the Mercury-Uranus themes of communication and technology causing a disruption could be seen yesterday, as Wikileaks released emails apparently hacked from the DNC, revealing an apparent bias on the part of DNC officials in favor of Hillary Clinton. Debbie Wasserman Schultz resigned as head of the Committee was promptly hired by the Clinton campaign. I don’t have time to write up a detailed perspective today — will hopefully get to it tomorrow.

UPDATE: On Michael Bloomberg, whose horoscope we last looked at  in February and March. Back then, I wrote:

Michael Bloomberg — Sun at 25 Aquarius; rebel Uranus at 26 Taurus. There’s talk of him launching his own run for president, and Mars now at 23 Scorpio is about to hit his fiercely daring Sun-Uranus square next week…and again in mid-June. What will happen? Haven’t seen much action in the news about Mr. Bloomberg, other than this item about him moving his personal website to an independent server. Let’s see where he’s at with initiatives in mid-June and the end of July, when Mars will hit his Sun-Uranus square for a second and third time.

…and where he’s at right now is Philadelphia, where he is scheduled to — in a burst of Mars (action!) triggering a Sun-Uranus surprise, surprise — speak at the Democratic National Convention in support of Hillary Clinton. The NYT calls it “an unexpected move.” Actually, NYT, we’d expect an unexpected move right about now. Mr. Bloomberg was a Democrat, then switched to Republican in 2000, then became an independent.

That’s is. Gotta fly. What’s going on in YOUR horoscope? Here’s the 411 on personal consultations.

Astro-logical Forecast for Monday & Tuesday 12/30-31/2013: Persuasive Action

Ready for a break? The high-flying Sagittarius Moon goes void-of course with a long sigh at 6:36AM ET, not to enter the next sign — Capricorn — until 1:01PM ET on Tuesday. Trying to move forward in a straight line during Moon voids can feel like you’re herding an infinite number of cats. Go with the flow of whatever twists and delays crops up, and remember that crises — including panic attacks — that manifest are often much ado about nothing. Example: in my other life in TV news, I can’t tell you how many times a “urgent” deadline has suddenly pulled focus in a Moon void and then turned into a big “NEVER MIND” once the Moon got back into gear. So if you feel under the gun over the next two days, please maintain perspective and  chill, chill chill!

Given that we are the end of the lunar cycle, the wandering potential of the Moon void may be especially augmented by the listlessness or restlessness often felt in the dark side of the Moon. We sense the new cycle is coming, but we don’t know what it is. Clear your desk of projects started at the New Moon, and also consider letting go of these 20 things in preparation for the powerful New Moon in Capricorn that’s happening Wednesday at 6:14AM ET. We are starting the New Year off with a bang!

Today’s  Moon void should take some of the potentially forceful edge off the the potent challenge between aggressive Mars and ruthless Pluto (exact at 8:16PM ET), though I still expect to see some notable acts of violence (downside) and/or extraordinarily energetic efforts (upside) making headlines. Same goes for the intensely perspicacious hook-up between mental Mercury and Pluto happening Tuesday at 6:24AM ET, as well as the clash of will and mindset suggested by a challenge between Mercury and Mars a few hours later. Communications may be exceptionally persuasive and/or forceful — especially with Venus (social decorum) in full-blown retrograde mode through the end of January (interesting to see this op-ed piece on political bullies in Sunday NYT).

If you were born around the 1st of January, April, July and October…or if you have a planet or angle around 8-11 degrees of Aries, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn, you are more likely to feel the pressure to “make it or break it” continuing on for the next few days….for better or for worse; the choice is up to you.

At 1:01PM ET on Tuesday, Moon enters “make it happen” Capricorn, infusing the day with an earthy practicality. A soft connection between the Moon and rose-colored Neptune offers a dreamy spin to the “Auld Lang Syne” you’ll be singing at midnight.  Do be careful around the fireworks, as the Capricorn Moon makes contact with the never-ending Uranus-Pluto square in the wee hours of the first day of 2014. Did I mention that the New Year might start off with a bang?

Last, but not least, some tech innovations on deck for 2014, as well as this piece about “brain-like” computers, brought to you by rocket scientist Uranus making contact with Mars, Mercury and the Sun all last week…enjoy!

Donations are always welcome, with gratitude for your expression of appreciation. I’ll also mail you a nifty Mercury Retrograde Survival Guide bookmark, so you’ll always know when that trickster planet is doing its backwards shuffle — and how to handle it.

Astro-logical Forecast for May 30 2012: Chance of Afternoon Thunderstorms

Moon enters relationship-oriented Libra at 6:46AM ET, shifting the need of the day to justice, fairness, balance and — oh, wouldn’t it be nice if those people-pleasing efforts  were appreciated, fuhgawdsake? That’s a broad and patently irreverent summation of the potential flow of this day: everything going all nice and smooth in perfect harmony…and then — surprise — around 7:56PM ET or sooner, the equilibrium is disrupted, perhaps because Venus is retrograde and someone forgot to say, “please” and “thank you”. Will it evolve into the surreal, like those clever “get rid of cable” commercials currently airing on TV?  With aggressive Mars in perfectionist Virgo challenging mental Mercury in glib Gemini at 8:20PM ET, impassioned speech and ideas — possibly leading to a verbal outburst — may be on the horizon as the evening unfolds. But there’s no need for your house to explode. Keep up with planetary patterns and you can be a centered observer in the middle of any storm.

Astro-logical Forecast for Monday 1/2/2012: Still Fired Up?

Still running on the spark of the New Year celebrations, when everything feels fresh and new? Good on you! You can keep that pioneering feeling going with gusto…with the added focus of ambition suggested by Moon in Aries being challenged by stern Saturn at 2:01PM ET.

Note that when someone else is focusing their ambition, it can be experienced by others as a control, restriction or other “wet blanket”. You could shrug that off with an optimistic sigh, however,  at 3:07PM ET, when Moon goes Void until 5:16PM ET. Take a break and enjoy the jolly mood and possible sensual delights suggested by expansive Jupiter’s hook up with Moon in material security-loving Taurus.  Had enough good food and wine for the holiday weekend? Perhaps not…

In the headlines, as anticipated…news from outer space (a cool NASA mission to the Moon) http://www.nytimes.com/2012/01/01/science/space/two-nasa-spacecraft-set-to-orbit-the-moon.html?_r=1&ref=science  and reckless headlines out of Los Angeles: with rebel Uranus running wild AND demanding attention in fiery Aries, combined with a sharp challenge between aggressive Mars and Mercury (transportation), the City of Angels found itself plagued by devils randomly torching cars parked underneath apartment buildings http://www.nytimes.com/2012/01/02/us/los-angeles-car-firebombings-set-city-on-edge.html?hp More fiery recklessness made headlines in the Philippines http://www.nytimes.com/2012/01/02/world/asia/despite-crackdown-philippines-new-year-is-marred-by-fireworks-injuries.html?hp  Meanwhile, a federal prison in Lousiana is locked down after fighting broke out on New Year’s Eve….http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/2012/01/01/us/AP-US-Louisiana-Prison-Lockdown.html?hp
The Mars-Mercury clash will soften as the week progresses…and Moon in Taurus (which is generally NOT a fan of disrupting the status quo) should provide a calming influence…but that rebel Uranus likely be making waves for a while, so please do be careful out there…

In other news, I will be launching a revamped website next Saturday. You will be able to sign up on the site and have these forecasts delivered directly to your email — no more searching for the forecasts — or so my web guru tells me. I don’t think he’s making stuff up…
