Astro-logical Forecast for Wednesday 3/26/2014: Mercury Trine Jupiter;Gwyneth Paltrow

Late post today, as I’m packing for a birthday trip to Hawaii, which is one of the positive potentials of having rose-colored Neptune making a significant connection to the Moon. Woo-hoo! Who’s buying the champagne?

Since you all read Monday’s forecast, you know that today is a day for getting things done. There’s no Moon void to derail your efforts to move forward in a straight line, and the Moon is in detached-yet-ever-so-friendly Aquarius. Network, network, network…and hang out with your weird, wacky friends in the evening. Ship it today, rather than tomorrow, as the Moon WILL be void as of 9:13AM ET Thursday until 8:10PM ET that night. If research is on your list of things today for the rest of the week, take advantage of a healthy dirt-digging connection between mental Mercury and investigative Pluto which is exact on Friday.

Also noted in Monday’s forecast: a connection between Mercury and expansive Jupiter, suggesting we’d see news involving publishing, justice and/or religion. How interesting to see on the New York Times homepage this item about local bookstores closing because rents keep expanding. And just now, this item about the Pope accepting the resignation of a high-spending bishop. The court case making headlines this week adds the essence of Saturn in Scorpio (controlling consequences of sexual energy), as arguments are heard by the Supreme Court about whether a corporation can refuse to provide its female employees insurance coverage for contraceptives on the grounds that it restricts religious freedom. None of the corporations are concerned about providing coverage for Viagra…or vasectomies.

So Gwyneth Paltrow’s slightly bewildering divorce announcement is attracting a lot of attention. I glanced at her horoscope for about a minute and immediately noted transiting Neptune (bewilderment) almost conjunct her Pisces Ascendant, which rules her first house of personal projection/ego identity. Her Mercury, which rules her 4th house of family/home and her  7th house of partnerships has (and still is) been supercharged by the never-ending Uranus-Pluto square, suggesting a need for empowering and/or emancipating mindset and communication in those 4th and 7th house areas. And from 2009-2012, she had the Uranus-Pluto square challenging her Libra Sun, suggesting still greater needs for empowerment and individuation. No surprise at all that her marriage would have to find a way to accommodate those needs…and sometimes accommodation is escape or dissolution.

April is going to be a power-packed month! A powerful New Moon sets the tone on March 30th. Then, two eclipses, bracketing the fifth of the seven Uranus-Pluto squares — in a rare Cardinal Grand Cross.   How will your horoscope be affected? Astro-logical Forecast for Tuesday 3/25/2014: Mind the Void; MH370 Update

East Coasters, you may leap out of bed this morning ready to tackle the world, courtesy of a constructive connection between the practical Capricorn Moon and disciplined Saturn (exact at 6:47AM ET) and an energetic boost from action hero Mars, exact at 8:35AM ET. Be advised that your efforts to move forward in a straight line may be subject to odd twists, flakes and detours, as the Moon goes void-of-course right on that feisty Mars connection. D’oh! Roll with the twists; keep calm and carry on…preferably with tasks that are merely routine.

This natural cosmic rest period continues until 6:39PM ET, when the Moon finally gets into gear in the sign of Aquarius.  West Coasters, that’s when your work day may finally feel focused…and when you might consider pitching the big ideas you’ve dreamed up, suggested by an exact connection between mental Mercury and expansive Jupiter at 9:11AM ET on Wednesday. Mercury-Jupiter aspects suggest headlines about “big picture” belief and communication systems: publishing, broadcasting, law, religion, travel. Oh look — here’s a ginormous seven-figure advance being paid to the lucky writer who will pen Rolling Stone publisher Jann Wenner‘s biography. The book will be published in 2017, right when empowering Pluto conjoins Wenner’s Sun at 16 Capricorn. Comme c’est bizarre et quelle coincidence….except it’s astro-logical, where there is no such thing as coincidence. We are still in the rosy glow of the weekend’s Mercury-Neptune hook-up in Pisces, which ofter refers to music…

On Monday the Malaysian prime minister confirmed what many have been suspecting: that MH370 is presumed to lost — with no survivors — and its last known position suggests the flight ended in the South Indian Ocean. Two weeks ago I wrote that we might expect some significant developments around the 21st, noting a number of transits to the angles of the event chart for the flight’s departure. The transits involved Mercury (news) and the Moon (an event marker); Mercury, Moon and the Ascendant (an angle of the chart) were also active yesterday (24th), when the official announcement was made. RIP.

Two eclipses. The fifth of the seven Uranus-Pluto squares — in a Cardinal Grand Cross. April is going to be a power-packed month!  How will your horoscope be affected? Book a personal astro-logical consultation and maximize opportunities for growth and change.  Here’s the 411.

Astro-logical Forecast for Wednesday – Friday 11/27-29/2013: Thank Goodness for Thanksgiving, Hannukah & The Pope’s Perfect Timing

Alllll– riighty, then.

A fierce wind howling woke me up in the middle of the night — and kept me up long enough to make sleeping in this morning a must-do. Oh, happy void-of-course Moon in Virgo, as of 6:44AM ET, during which indulgences such as sleeping in may often be excused. How about you? The Moon won’t enter the next sign, Libra, until 5PM, when the needs of the day shift from detailed correctness to appreciation in relationship.

Today’s Moon went void on an energetic alignment with Mars, also in perfectionist Virgo, so many may experience intense expressions of will and demands for perfection carried through the day. We can also expect the usual twists and detours in efforts to move forward in straight line, much to the dismay of many traveling on this  traditionally insane traveling day. Go with the flow & try on your best Pollyanna attitude, which is supported quite well by other planetary patterns. Such as? How about an idealistic alignment between mental Mercury and Venus (money, women, social expression, aesthetics) that facilitates a need to see things in the best possible light? That pattern is exact tonight at 9:45PM ET.

But wait, there’s more: an expansive and nurturing mindset — and writing all about it — is suggested by a lovely alignment between Mercury and jolly Jupiter (exact tomorrow at 2:24AM ET). An indulgent and exuberant face-off between Jupiter and Venus gets Thanksgiving off to a likely festive start. Upsets and intense emotions may be felt for some before noon ET on Thanksgiving, however,  as the balance-seeking Libra Moon is challenged by the disruptive, illuminating Uranus-Pluto square. This challenge is likely to be felt more personally by those with 8-12 degrees of Aries, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn prominent in their horoscope. Consult your local astrologer for details.

Friday is a bust: another long day of Moon voidness, starting at 6:14AM ET…until 11:03PM ET. This suggests that whatever Black Friday bargains you think you’ve scored are likely to prove far less useful than you imagined, but given that the Moon void starts on two indulgent aspects to the Moon and Venus, chances are that people will spend-spend-spend anyway (pity the fools) — likely on things that are techie and reflective of the latest eclectic innovation. Why techie and innovative? This whole week has been under the influence of a harmonious alignment between the high-flying Sagittarius Sun and rebel rocket scientist Uranus in pioneering Aries (exact on Saturday at 1:25.PM ET — this just in as I type: big, fat airline merger clears last obstacle) The Moon void should make for some interesting upsets in the world of football and — as with today (Wednesday) — for those who may be traveling. Otherwise, chill!

And now, the news.

Let’s talk about rebel Uranus and ruthless Pluto. You know these two heavyweights are in an historic, challenging relationship from 2011-2016, because you’ve read about it here a zillion times. My mentor, Noel Tyl, uses this imagery to describe the potential of Uranus-Pluto connections: Jesus overturning the tables of the moneychangers in the temple.  How fascinating, in light of this week’s planetary patterns (described above and in Monday’s forecast) AND at the halfway point of the Uranus-Pluto square, to see Pope Francis taking such a strong and disruptive stance against capitalism. Here are eleven worthy excerpts from the 84-page apostolic exhortation published this week (84 is the number of years it takes rebel Uranus to revolve around the Sun — how cool is that); here is how the New York Times covered the story (the prior link is from Gawker — don’t miss it); and here is what you can find about the Pope and the Vatican right now at the Washington Times. Note that the WT conveniently omits the other half of the Pope’s remarks on the particular subject discussed in the link immediately preceding; you will find that other half in paragraph 11 of the NYT article. Also in the WT: the Pope shaking hands with Vladimir Putin; and Obama delivering  “a slap in the face of Roman Catholics” by “closing down the American Embassy in the Holy See” (you have to read the article before learning that the Holy See office is being moved to the US Embassy in Rome (i.e., right next door), and will probably save U.S. taxpayers a boatload of dough — which you’d think would make readers of the WT very happy (if there were other articles covering Pope Francis in the WT and WSJ that I did not link, it is because I did not see them).

Now why am I going off on a Moon void wandering adventure about what the Washington Times is spewing forth vs. other esteemed media outlets? Because six of the Supreme Court Justices are Catholic. And they write intriguing influential opinions about corporate/capitalist interests, and so forth. And I wondered how closely they would mind the opinions of the leader of their Church? Will their decisions change? Just for fun, I did some research on one of the Catholic Justices — Antonin Scalia — and found a recent interview in which he stated that he only reads the Wall Street Journal and the Washington Times.  Here’s what he’ll read about this story, as reported by the WSJ online.

Well, alll-riiighty then. We’ll save the recent headlines reflecting Saturn reaching the halfway point of its sojourn through nitty-gritty, matters of life and death Scorpio for next time.

When you need astro-logical on your own unique horoscope, here’s how to reach me. I look forward to a most excellent discussion with you soon!

Happy Hannukah! Happy Thanksgiving!

And thank you for reading this forecast :)

Astro-logical Forecast for Tuesday 1/22/2013: Reach For The Stars

Big ideas and innovation — especially in technology and aero/outerspace. That’s what I’m thinking we’ll be seeing this week, thanks to a remarkably supportive alignment among the Sun (life force) and Mercury (communication, mindset) in humanitarian/technogeek Aquarius, expansive Jupiter in info-junkie Gemini and rebel Uranus in pioneering Aries. Jupiter-Uranus patterns are often experienced as lucky breaks or investment opportunities that turn out to be windfalls. They also suggest news from the cosmos, including astrology.

You are personally affected by this “breakthrough” pattern if you were born around the 26th of any month, of if you have a planet or an angle around 6 degrees of any sign, with a slight bonus to Aries, Leo, Sagittarius, Gemini, Libra and Aquarius.  The potential down side — and there is always that potential — might be grandiose or bombastic behavior, or wretched excess. Alternately, you could be feeling so good that you can’t be bothered to create new opportunities even though the wind may be at your back. Don’t let this happen to you!

Today’s Moon is in chatty Gemini, where it has been buzzing around since 9:04AM ET on Monday, just before President Obama was sworn in (again) at his second public presidential inauguration. He had to be feeling pretty good, as his Moon is also in Gemini, and transiting Jupiter (the cosmic sugar daddy), is closely aligned with that Moon…for now. Another sign of popularity and personal happiness is Obama’s progressed Sun currently conjunct his natal Venus, where it has been hovering for several months.  This was one of the patterns that led to my post in September opining that Obama would be elected to a second term, along with other astro-logical observations about Obama’s horoscope, which you can read here.

Make the most of this week — especially today.  We’ve got a Moon waxing in light — good for initiating projects. We have planetary patterns remarkably receptive to your big ideas for reinventing the wheel. Are there caveats? Sure. Get it off your desk today if you can — or wait until Thursday. Moon will be void-of-course from 6:42AM ET to 10PM ET on Wednesday — and again on Friday from 3:35PM ET until 9:20AM ET on Saturday. Also note that Thursday may have a little turbulence, notably from hard aspects to the Moon and from aggressive energy running a bit wild on behalf of some rebel cause.
