I have been sitting with the incredible experience of your gift and knowledge and letting it sift down into my understanding and psyche. It was a powerful time for me. I told a friend, "she is the real deal." I don't say that very often!

Astro-logical Forecast for Tuesday 2/28/012: All the Dirt That’s Fit to Print

All day yesterday I was thinking that we’d see plenty of “news from underground” hitting the wires, suggested by yesterday’s lunar connections to aggressive Mars in puritanical Virgo and ruthless Pluto (underground, corruption exposed, resources) in patriarchal Capricorn…as well as Pluto in a communicative connection with the Sun (life force). And we did!

Headlines have been all about pushing hidden things to the surface, including news that Japan considered evacuating Tokyo after last year’s nuclear reactor crisis http://www.nytimes.com/2012/02/28/world/asia/japan-considered-tokyo-evacuation-during-the-nuclear-crisis-report-says.html?hp ; a super-steamy series of sex scandals allegedly involving spiritual gurus http://www.nytimes.com/2012/02/28/health/nutrition/yoga-fans-sexual-flames-and-predictably-plenty-of-scandal.html?hp even deeper doo-doo across the Pond, as it is revealed that thousands of pounds were paid to highly placed officials by alleged journalists in exchange for information http://www.nytimes.com/2012/02/28/world/europe/murdoch-hacking-inquiry-expands-to-uk-officials.html?hp ; the consequence of an early spring — courtesy of global warming http://www.nytimes.com/2012/02/27/nyregion/amid-winter-blooms-wondering-what-that-means-for-spring.html?src=rechp and this disturbing behind-the-scenes expose of that has made me seriously reconsider my love affair with Amazon and online shopping. I urge you to read this one thoroughly — in honor of Mars retrograde in Virgo — (workers), even though I know and you know that the one you really want to click on is the steamy guru scandal…right? http://motherjones.com/politics/2012/02/mac-mcclelland-free-online-shipping-warehouses-labor

Other than all the dirt that’s being dug up, the day is a bust, especially for folks out West who will see the bulk of their work day taken up with a Moon void of course — from 2:46PM – 10:27PM ET. The earlier you can ship it, the less time you’ll spend floating around or dealing with crises that are all for naught.

A general advisory for the next week or so as Mars, still very much retrograde, will soon make a highly-charged opposition to the Sun — very close to the Earth. In your own personal world this can spice up your existing romances and inspire you to get to the gym. Others who are not as psychically clear may resort to all sorts of outbursts — with particularly violent consequences. I’m seeing this in the headlines right now: fiery race car accidents; 18 people killed in Pakistan; a school shooting in Ohio — these sorts of things. Just be aware of this edgy energy as you ease on down the road.

Finally,  I’ve been expecting Governor Rick Perry of Texas to be making headlines right about now — and yesterday, he did. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/02/26/us/politics/perrys-on-the-job-retirement-lifts-pension-perk-from-shadows.html?pagewanted=1&sq=rick%20perry&st=cse&scp=2 Seems as part of his run for president, he had to disclose (last year) that while he’s earning a hefty salary as Governor of Texas, he’s also drawing down a substantial pension. And the area of his horoscope that is lit up like a Christmas tree right now refers to the public, a secret coming to light, his professional status, the love he has to give and the appreciation he needs to receive and — oh —  other peoples’ money. Perry has his natal Mars at 8 Libra opposing the Node at 8 Aries — both were challenged by Pluto at 8 Capricorn in January. Keep an eye on this developing story and see where Perry’s at in mid-June, when rebel Uranus joins the party and the patterns intensify…

Astro-logical Forecast for Wednesday 8/17/2011: When Mars Attacks!

Moon in Aries shifted from neutral into 4th gear last night at 8:10PM ET, ending two full work days in wandering, amorphous void mode.

Moon in Aries can be feisty, pioneering, inspiring, courageous, speedy, and a wee bit (!) selfish and impatient. It needs to be recognized, damn it — not now, but RIGHT NOW. Given the qualities of this Moon driving the pace of the day, I anticipate you’ll find more than the usual suspects demanding your attention. The probability of shocks and awe is great in the morning hours, as rebel Uranus and ruthless Pluto challenge the need to be Number One.

Around 3:11PM ET, aggressive Mars in security-oriented Cancer may see red when it engages that aforementioned need to be Number One. You are more likely to feel this if you have a point or planet at 8-10 degrees of Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn; if you do, I’ll wager you’ve noticed an uptick in the ego issues getting in your face all this week. I know I have (Sun at 8 Aries, thank you very much)! How about you, Governor Rick Perry? Have you been on a warpath this week? Why — look — you have:  “Rick Perry Attacks Ben Bernanke’s…”  http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/aug/16/rick-perry-ben-bernanke-treasonous Rick Perry has Mars at 8 degrees of Libra; it was challenged Sunday and Monday by Mars at 8 Cancer.

I share this because  a number of readers have asked me how they can apply current planetary positions to their own horoscopes. In Gov. Perry’s case, it appears  he’s using the charge suggested by Mars on Mars action to go on the offensive (not the best strategy yesterday, given the Moon void); in fact we anticipated he would be doing that when we looked at his horoscope a couple of weeks ago. In my case, with Mars challenging my Aries Sun, there is a suggested potential for issues involving “temperament, accidents, increased drive and feeling attacked”. “Increased drive?” Yes — and the workload has increased. This is a happy problem to have. “Accidents?” I tripped walking up a flight of stairs yesterday, with a cup of coffee in my hand. It was spectacular. “Feeling attacked”? Let’s just say I have a certain way of doing certain things that makes perfect sense to me, but not to certain other people. Said “other people” — note the plural — have expressed challenging viewpoints over the past two days. Isn’t that amazing?  What perfect timing! And for those who argue that anticipating an event or behavior might just be a self-fulfilling prophecy, in this case, I’m noting the planetary pattern after the events occurred. Any questions?

This is how astrology can be helpful on a very personal basis. When you see the pattern coming up in a horoscope, it helps put things in perspective. It helps one choose how to act– or react — when the pattern manifests itself, or better yet, before the pattern shows up.  Mars transits can be intense, but they don’t last long. That helps me put things in perspective, too. Do you have a planet or point at 8-10 degrees of Aries, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn? How have you been feeling over the past two days?

Astro-logical Forecast for Tuesday 8/9/2011: Rick Perry

Moon in Sagittarius continues to push boundaries* today, as the challenge to Mars (action) from disruptive Uranus becomes exact at 12:34PM. From yesterday. More of the same from yesterday: “watch the headlines for breakthroughs, jolts and  upheavals”. Would a 600 point drop in the Dow be considered an upheaval? http://www.nytimes.com/2011/08/09/business/global/daily-stock-market-activity.html?hp  We are likely to see more volatility and shocks to the system today, along with news from underground (mines, radiation, corruption, seismic activity) and power plays, some of which could be classified as brutal. The latter is suggested by ruthless Pluto’s challenge to aggressive Mars, exact at 1:12AM ET on Thursday.

In your own personal world, inspiration and communication are likely to flow freely. Perhaps too freely. Remember the Mercury retrograde of avoiding gossip.

In other news, Governor Rick Perry of Texas is allegedly mulling a run for higher office. Born March 4, 1950 in Paint Creek TX (birth time unknown), Perry is a soulful, sensitive Pisces with Moon in perfectionist Virgo. A strong need for independence, to defy convention, to disrupt the status quo is suggested by Uranus running wild in the horoscope.  Interesting to note that Barack Obama and John Boehner also have this pattern. Apparently American voters like renegades. Currently, an interesting pattern between nebulous Neptune and transformational Pluto suggests a strong potential for “intensification of the sensory; possible loss of frame of reality; subterfuge and/or possible drug or alcohol dysfunctionality,” (as defined by astrologer Noel Tyl). This pattern was exact in Perry’s horoscope in mid-July. In June, as you may have heard, he declared August 6, 2011 a day of prayer and fasting http://governor.state.tx.us/news/proclamation/16247/  Unconventional? Perhaps, but the event does dovetail with the patterns suggested by Neptune’s recent ingress into Pisces: spiritualism on the rise. More anon.
