Astro-logical Forecast for Wednesday 21/2/2015: Mark Zuckerberg’s Really Big News

Moon enters Virgo at 5:09AM ET, driving the day with a need for perfection, organization and details. It cruises unimpeded until 7:13PM ET, when it faces off against Neptune. At 8:41PM ET, the Moon is challenged by Saturn. Unreal. Real. Dreamy. Focused. Intangible. Tangible. Perhaps the Virgo Moon will inspire us to separate the wheat from the chaff in what we collectively believe and how we are getting the word out.  Perhaps you can use it to fine-tune the structure of your latest vision.

And now, the news.

Gosh, there have been a ton of items about maritime issues — some heavy; some fantastic. Thank you, Saturn square Neptune in Pisces. The Japanese are going to start hunting whales again — 333 of them — boo hiss. It’s being presented as a “research” study, but few are buying it. Real. Unreal.  And how strange to see a story about 337 whales discovered beached in Chile last June — but only being reported now.

Also in Japan, a somber story of “ghostly ships” washing ashore with ghoulish cargo from unknown origins…

Thanks to Avid Reader Barbara, who emailed to make sure I did not miss this item about people who make a living hunting for sunken treasure (fantastic!), fighting for their rights in the face of heavy criticism by others in more academic pursuits:

Treasure hunters are to maritime archaeologists what astrologers are to astronomers,” said Filipe Castro, a nautical archaeologist at Texas A & M University.

My money says Mr. Castro has never consulted with an astrologer.

Meanwhile, I’m pleased to report one big news item that beautifully reflects the potential suggested in yesterday’s planetary patterns:

Moon is fully engaged in Leo, sign of drama kings and queens, as well as creative self-expression. How can you shine — and encourage others to shine — today? There are no serious bumps in the planetary highway…as the Leo Moon’s regal drive is supported by a number of planets (Saturn, Sun, Mars, Mercury and Uranus). Good for rocket scientists, humanitarian rebels and crusading warrior types.

Yesterday Mark Zuckerberg (and his wife, Priscilla Chan), made big news with two announcements: 1) the birth of their daughter, Max; and 2) the “birth of one of the world’s biggest charities”; i.e., a pledge to donate 99% of their Facebook shares in a “mission of advancing human potential and promoting equality”. I am intrigued that Mr. Zuckerberg and Ms. Chan did not tell the Free World when their daughter was born — not even what day. The NYT said it was sometime last week.

The last time I wrote about Mr. Zuckerberg was on August 6th:

I do not believe we have a confirmed birth time for Mark Zuckerberg, but several times have been proposed. One proposal suggests a 20 Virgo Ascendant, and it has a boatload of solar arcs exact soon and into next year — among planets involved with the 4th, 5th, 6th and 8th houses. Solar arcs involving the Moon and Mars (action) at the IC (the angle referring to home & family), as well as between Jupiter, ruler of the 4th (family, foundation, home)  and Saturn, the ruler of the 5th house (children, creative self expression) reflect the potential for changes in his personal life.  Other arcs and transits involve Uranus, which refers to the spark required to start something new.

These arcs will be exact on various dates between now and April. Last week Mr. Zuckerberg and his wife announced they were expecting their first child after trying without success for several years. On September 13th, the 20 Virgo Ascendant will be eclipsed, suggesting a major change in life. This eclipse will be triggered by transiting Jupiter (expansion) on  November 29th  and again on February 16th. The Zuckerbergs did not say when their baby girl was due. Let’s test this horoscope with its 20 Virgo ASC and see what happens.

Well? What do you think? Fascinating, isn’t it? When astrologers do not have a birth time, they use their knowledge of planetary cycles to create what is called a rectified horoscope. They test the proposed birth time by working backwards through the life of the individual, checking the timing of significant events with planetary transits. It’s like cracking a safe. When all of the tumblers are lined up correctly, the horoscope can be used as a tool to anticipate events in the future. But as my teacher wisely says, “We can never know for sure if our rectified horoscope is correct…” unless documentation turns up later to confirm our effort. The objective, then, is stay humble and do our best to craft a horoscope that seems to work as a predictive tool.

We know Mr. Zuckerberg is taking a couple of months off to spend time with his wife and daughter. He’ll have just returned to the office on February 16th. Jupiter will hit 20 degrees of Virgo for a third time in July. Stay tuned.

What’s going on in your horoscope? I can’t imagine why you would not want to find out in a personal consultation. Or perhaps you’re in search of a truly unique holiday gift idea that’s clearly all about your cherished friend or relative. Here’s the 411 on consultations and astrological reports.

Thank you for reading this forecast.

Astro-logical Forecast for Thursday 8/6/2015: It’s Debatable; Donald Trump; Mark Zuckerberg

Moon in Taurus continues its steady quest for material security and comfort today — and all through tomorrow, too. Hope you are enjoying a few pleasures in the realm of the senses. A sunny idealism permeates the day, but behind the shining stars (regal egos?) is a need for gravitas in mindset and communication. Thank you, Mercury conjunct Venus in Leo, square Saturn. That need to be taken seriously (exact at 4:19PM ET) will surely resonate with the seven Republican contenders exiled to the (Uncool) Kids’ Table, a.k.a. the Not Ready for Primetime Players  of tonight’s debate.

Around 8:44PM, an easy flow between the Moon and Pluto intensifies the potency of the need for things to be the Way They Ought to Be, setting the tone for the Primetime Portion Starring Donald Trump. Also setting the tone: a square between that stability-seeking Moon and the regal Leo Sun at 10:03PM ET. This might be the measurement for one of the contenders to go off the rails tonight; but really, with a change-averse Taurus Moon driving the bus, I do not expect shocks and upsets. Plus, Saturn is at the top of the chart of this event, suggesting a need to project executive authority, control and top form. But to confirm that speculation, I would need birth times for all of the candidates, which I do not have. If someone were having an exact Neptune (bewilderment) transit to the Ascendant, for example, we might see something like this.

Tonight is as good as it gets for Venus retrograde heartthrob Donald Trump, who reportedly released his birth certificate four years ago…and then refused to release it several weeks ago when another newspaper asked. Weird — and I’m at a loss to explain why the lamestream media — seems to have forgotten that they already published the birth certificate in question.  Did they make it up? What did I miss? If someone has a clue, let me know. Here is the horoscope based on that birth certificate, which appears to be functioning as designed.

Current transits include Venus, Mercury and Jupiter (expansion) clustered around The Donald’s regal 29 Leo Ascendant, in easy alignment to his blah blah blah entertaining Gemini Sun and righteously opinionated Sagittarius Moon. He needs to tell you what he thinks and know that what he says is respected. This need is his driving force! Rebel Uranus, which delights in its eccentricity, is conjunct Trump’s Sun and North Node and also opposes his Moon. Of course he needs to shake things up when it comes to partnerships and the general public. He thrives on excitement.

Oh, and there’s a pugnacious Mars in Leo on his Ascendant too, which astrologer Grant Lewi notes can easily “get away with murder” — also boosted by that cluster now in Leo.  Mr. Trump needs to act with drama and showmanship. And now, this is Mr. Trump’s  time to expand his projection of regal authority to the masses.

Yes, if the election were held today (and only Republicans could vote), he would likely win in a landslide…and voters would live to regret it after Venus turned direct.  Thank Goddess the election is not being held this November. But why is Trump’s regal authority suddenly being taken so seriously, in a real-life political arena as opposed to a fake TV reality show? Look to 1) transiting Saturn squaring his Ascendant, spurring ambition and 2) solar arc direct Saturn at the Aries Point, suggesting a need for executive authority becoming prominent.

Then look to other solar arc directions in the chart including a personally radiant arc between the Sun and the Ascendant; another between the nodal axis and Mars (which adds to the explanation of why people are now resonating with the anger Trump projects)’ and a third between Pluto (power) and Jupiter (expansion). These solar arcs will become exact between now and next year, which is a compelling argument for why he’s likely to have staying power. A transit between Uranus and Trump’s natal Jupiter sparks his innate need for risk and excitement. Given that Jupiter rules his 5th House, which refers to performance and creative ego expression, we can expect quite a dazzling show. And when astrologers are respected and valued by mainstream audiences and paid for their analyses in the same way that Trip Daniel is getting paid by the New York Times, it will then make sense to spend time writing in ever greater detail about Mr. Trump. With a planet in my 2nd house hit by this week’s Jupiter-Saturn square, matters of worth and value are much on my mind. Isn’t astrology amazing?

UPDATE: more on The Donald — from a later forecast posted Dec 8th 2015:

Mars in touch with Pluto — the major pattern of last weekend — suggests more than just guns. It suggests the potential for regeneration and also that which we consider masculine. The timing of this headline is epic, if you ask me: “Penis Transplants Being Planned to Help Wounded Troops”.  Astrology is amazing.

The Mars-Pluto pattern affected Donald Trump’s intrinsically macho horoscope. With his natal Mars in Leo and on his Leo Ascendant, we could expect a regal personal projection, driven by a seething sense of entitlement. The fixed star Capulus conjoins his 24 Taurus Midheaven, the point of career and public status. Capulus refers to “male sexual energy,” and this webpage offers a ton of observations from various sources on how it may be reflected in a horoscope. Transiting Mars, Pluto and Uranus are making contact with Mr. Trump’s natal Jupiter, suggesting a potential for expansive opportunity and resources.

Until yesterday, coverage of Mr. Trump’s campaign was relegated to the entertainment section of The Huffington Post. After his comments over the weekend that the US should ban all Muslims from entering the country, HuffPo decided to take him seriously — check out its editorial explaining why it is moving him to the politics section. Three other observations about Mr. Trump. First, he has Mercury square Neptune, suggesting no small amount of idealism and/or delusion and/or fantasy.

Second, he has Venus in Cancer conjunct Saturn. This suggests a need for social expression focused on creating home/family/emotional security (that the Venus in Cancer part). This need is tied to ambition and control by its contact with Saturn (which in the language of astrology, refers to discipline, limits and control). The Venus-Saturn combo can express itself in ways that seem stingy or mean-spirited. Others with this tough combo include: Ted Cruz, Senator James Inhofe, Rep. Peter King, Charles Koch, Governor Paul LePage, Megyn Kelly, House Speaker Paul Ryan and Governor Scott Walker. hi

Third, Mr. Trump’s horoscope continues to be quite strong from now into 2016 and beyond.

Here’s a post from June 2015, after he announced his run; here’s one from April 2011.

Solar arcs involving the Moon and Mars (action) at the IC (the angle referring to home & family), as well as between Jupiter, ruler of the IC  and Saturn, the ruler of the 5th house (children) reflect the potential for changes in his personal life.

UPDATE: the birth of Baby Zuckerberg was announced on December 1st. The Zuckerbergs now have a daughter, Max, who was born “earlier that week”.

Finally, a shout-out of appreciation to Avid Reader Lucy, who took the time to share this delightful news:

Hi Elisabeth, just wanted you to know I did the search for lost $$$.  It was wild to see my name listed.  Its only $20.00, but how fun to find it. I can’t even remember what it’s from.  Thank you again, Lucy

Followed by:

I checked my daughter’s name  and she had 2 refunds, one of them over 100.00… wow!

Isn’t that fabulous? Lucy is referring to unclaimed.org, which I’ve been linking here all week — and where you can search the treasuries of every state in which you’ve ever lived (under every name you’d ever had) to see if one is holding a check or two for you. It’s a perfect thing to investigate when Venus is retrograde. Lucy’s news is still making me smile. Thank you, Lucy, for sharing your joy with the rest of us!

Thank you for reading this forecast. And if you’d like to discuss what’s going on in your unique horoscope, here’s how to schedule a personal consultation.

Astro-logical Forecast for Monday 5/11/2015: Mars in Gemini; Frida Kahlo & the Rest of the Week

Good Morning!

Mixed messages from the cosmos at 6:36AM ET, as the humanitarian Aquarius Moon squares the Taurus Sun. Squares are energetic aspects — pushing an agenda forward. What are you all fired up to do?

Perhaps it has something to do with the third stage of the New Moon agenda you set three weeks ago. Whatever it is, be advised that right after the Sun-Moon square, the Moon will be void until 10:53PM ET. This suggests twists or delays in your efforts to move forward in a straight line. Knowing about voids is an awesome way to prevent panic attacks and other imagined crises if things aren’t going as planned. There’s a higher flake factor during Moon voids, e.g., appointments cancelling or meetings wandering off into another dimension. Chill and roll with it — and you’ll be just fine.

Mars is the Planet of Week. Mars refers to action! It leaves slow and stubborn Taurus for Gemini at 10:40PM ET. Mars in Gemini is great for multitasking and getting the word out. Game plans may become more flexible. And they darn well better be clever and entertaining.

If you have a planet at around 2 degrees of Virgo, Pisces and especially Gemini or Sagittarius, you will be more personally affected by Mars this week. That planet (or your Ascendant or your Midheaven) is likely to be energized — for better or for worse. You may find yourself compelled to take action. Or, if you’re suppressing your inner action hero, you may attract someone or something who takes action on you.

By Friday, Mars will have moved into a challenging face-off with Saturn, currently at 2 Sagittarius. Mars-Saturn patterns suggest disciplined, militant action and ambition — for better or for worse. So look for those themes in the headlines. And if your own horoscope is personally affected, may you use that disciplined push for a cause with higher consciousness.

If you don’t know what degrees your planets are at, consider ordering the Astro-Basics Report. In addition to the computer-generated report of where everything is and what it means, I will include a personal note identifying the planet in your horoscope that is the key to fulfilling your potential in this lifetime.

This is the week to BACK UP YOUR COMPUTERS and other gizmos, as Mercury turns retrograde at 9:50PM ET next Monday, May 18th. No whinging will be permitted! Mercury retrograde periods provide absolutely fantastic opportunities for certain things. There is no reason to sweat the snafus and miscommunications that may arise. Here’s the survival guide I posted for the last Mercury retrograde — in January. I will re-post and update it on Monday.

Moon voids for the week, other than today’s long wandering drift: Wednesday 12:55PM – 1:13AM ET on THURSDAY; Friday 8:03AM ET until 3:02AM ET on SATURDAY.

And now, the news.

Speaking of Mars and Saturn, you know who has a planet around 2 degrees of Gemini or Sagittarius — and is thus personally affected by the “disciplined, militant action and ambition potential” of Friday Mars-Saturn opposition? Barack Obama. And there he is in the headlines, “aggressively courting skeptical legislators” so they will pass a bill this week giving him accelerated powers on the Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement. He even dissed Senator Elizabeth Warren and made a speech at Nike, a company notorious for outsourcing jobs. He is serious about this TPP. I wonder why.

I would now like to take this opportunity to rave about my New Balance cross-trainers, which I bought at the company store in Skowhegan, Maine. New Balance is apparently the only athletic shoe company that makes a portion of its inventory in the United States. New Balance has five manufacturing operations in the U.S. Two are in Massachusetts and three are in Maine, where my family is from. I’ve seen first-hand what happens when textile mills and shoe companies outsource production overseas. So as long as I have a choice, I’ll buy sneakers with labels that say “Made in the USA”.

This concludes the soapbox portion of this forecast.

Meanwhile, with Venus (women) at the Aries Point on Friday, some of our fearless leaders in Congress re-introduced the Equal Rights Amendment. If you are younger than a certain age, you may not know what that is. So I’ll tell you. It’s this:

“Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex.”

This amendment was passed by Congress in 1972, in the wake of the Uranus-Pluto conjunction of 1965-66. Thirty-eight states needed to ratify the amendment by 1982 for it to become the law of the land. That didn’t happen. Now, in the wake of the Uranus-Pluto square, we find ourselves revisiting agendas that were hot in the mid-60s. Will we finish what was started? This is our chance.

In other news, Frida Kahlo is “having a moment”. That’s what the NYT headline says, as a clueless reporter reports:

In a welcome though unexpected convergence, an array of new books and exhibitions about Kahlo have suddenly appeared this spring, adding insight and depth to our understanding of a woman who would seem among the most overexposed artistic figures of all time.

Dear Clueless Reporter, there is nothing “unexpected” about it.  If only you had looked at Ms. Kahlo’s horoscope (or asked an astrologer for an analysis). Such “unexpected” and “sudden” prominence strongly suggest planetary patterns at work,  no doubt involving Uranus and Pluto. And in fact, in a two-second glance at the chart we’re immediately drawn to this: Neptune, Sun, and Jupiter at 12, 13 and 20 Cancer respectively…all opposing Mars and Uranus at 12 and 10 Capricorn. That intense configuration has been supercharged by Uranus and Pluto for two years. Uranus (now at 18 Aries) is just about to square her Jupiter (suggesting, usually, expanded fortune — and in Kahlo’s case, corresponds to another exhibition opening). Her 23 Leo Ascendant and 23 Taurus Midheaven have just been hit by transiting Sun and Mars; Jupiter will hit her angles in July (more expansion); transiting Scorpio opposed her Midheaven last fall…..all adding up to prominence, expansion, revelation, empowerment, with a focus on personal/domestic concerns, even for a woman as “overexposed” as Ms. Kahlo (and even though she is no longer among the living). Horoscopes live forever!

To find out when your horoscope is scheduled for a period of expansion and empowerment, here’s the 411 on personal consultations. I look forward to an excellent discussion with you soon.

Thank you for reading this forecast.

Update: Before Mars hits President Obama’s 3 degree Gemini Moon, it opposed his 28 degree Scorpio Midheaven over the weekend. Mars suggests action — and also provocation, attack and/or an outburst. How interesting to stumble across a provocative story by Seymour Hersh, alleging that a lot of what you may have seen in Zero Dark Thirty is fiction, and that President Obama lied about what really happened in Abottabad the night Osama bin Laden was killed. On the other hand, the story was published on a square between Neptune and Mercury, which can be pretty surreal (or untrue).  We will see this Merucry-Neptune pattern again on May 29 and June 23. It will be interesting to see if there are further developments on this story then.
