Astro-logical Forecast for Friday 11/6/2015 & the Weekend

TGIF!

Today continues to be driven by a service-oriented, detail-focused Moon in Virgo. This is perfect energy for sorting, organizing and making things right. You may feel especially inspired by a optimistic dream of perfection, courtesy of 1) an expansive meet up between the Moon and Jupiter at 9:04AM ET, preceded by an easy flow between Mercury and Neptune. Let it carry you through the day.

There’s a brief Moon void on Saturday between 7:47AM ET and 10:14AM ET. No big deal — maybe sleep in on the East Coast and avoid the early morning yard sales. Generally speaking, what you impulsively purchase during a Moon void will more than likely prove to be of little use. But don’t take it from me; please feel free to learn from your own experience.

After the void, the Moon enters people-pleasing Libra and cruises without interference into the evening. If there’s going to be a howl of resentment over something that just isn’t fair (a typical Libra peeve), watch the action around 1:39PM ET and 9:42PM ET, when the Moon makes its weekly clash to Pluto and Uranus. Emotional intensity and a disruption of the status quo are suggested. Watch the headlines.

Also on Sunday — at 10:31AM ET — Venus enters Libra, one of the signs it rules. From now  until December 4th, matters related to aesthetics are generally well supported. We can expect a greater need for manners and other social graces in relationship. Between now and the 10th, Venus will be at the Aries Point – suggesting prominent news involving women, art, money and other keywords related to Libra.

At 9:42PM ET on Sunday, the Libra Moon goes void until 11:02PM ET on MONDAY. This suggests a higher probability of twists and flakes in your efforts to move forward in a straight line. If you sleep through your alarm, chill. Take care of routine matters and roll with whatever crises may crop up. Yea verily, during Moon voids these crises are often much ado about nothing.

The news is in progress. Stay tuned, and while you are waiting, consider treating yourself to a most excellent discussion about how these planetary patterns are operating in your own horoscope, and how awareness of said patterns can aid you in your quest for world domination. Here’s the 411 on consultations; FYI, rates will rise on November 29th — but not for those Really Useful Mercury Retrograde Survival Guide Bookmarks.

Thank you for reading this forecast.

And now, the news.

Remember how it was noted that in the chart for the CNBC debate, the Moon was conjunct Algol? Remember that Algol is a fixed star whose presence in a horoscope suggests the potential for “losing one’s head”? Would it be fair to argue that the candidates  lost their heads in their howls of protest about the questions they were asked, etc., etc, etc….going so far as to severe ties with NBC News (which has no control over the news directors at CNBC) in retaliation?  In other news, let the record show that Chris Christie and Mike Huckabee just lost their heads today, as the host for the next debate — Fox Business Network — banished them to the kids’ table. And former kids’ table candidates Lyndsey Graham and someone else — off the top of my head, I can’t remember his name — were voted off the entire debate island. The tribe has spoken.

So much else…where to start? How about with Uranus? If you had transiting Uranus making contact with key planets in your horoscope, you might need a little excitement or flash of insight that ends up disrupting the status quo. That’s what’s going on in the horoscope of George H.W. Bush, whose latest memoir “rattled the extended Bush political world” with its “sharp indictment” of Messrs. Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld.

Next up, Ben Carson — mentioned briefly here in September — continues to say amazing things as his poll numbers rise. Adding to what was noted about Mr. Carson previously, let the record show that we see Mercury (mindset and communication) currently under heavy fire from both Neptune (vision, delusion) and Saturn (ambition, gravitas). Yesterday he shared his views on why the pyramids in Egypt were built. He has a bewildering theory on why the U.S. was able to put a man on the Moon  (because the words “in God we trust” are printed on our money. Or something). Today we see reports that Mr. Carson’s self-proclaimed violent past (e.g., trying to stab someone with a knife), conflicts with the memories of those who knew him when.  His Mars-Pluto conjunction in Leo does suggest the potential for “getting away with murder” — or at least a need for regal drama when it comes to taking action (Hillary Clinton has this pattern, too). His Venus retrograde in Virgo has its own relationship challenges, which I can’t go into in detail or else I’ll never get this forecast out the door.

It is fascinating to see how patterns involving Saturn and Neptune in Mr. Carson’s chart. They mirror the fast-approaching square between Saturn and Neptune (exact on November 26th). We can appreciate the potential for what is faith-based, visionary or delusional to be given serious airtime or to be hit with a serious reality check.

Add in the aftermath of the never-ending Uranus-Pluto square — symbolized by the Tower card that was pulled at the start of the week. Consider yesterday’s communicative alignment between the Sun and Pluto, suggesting themes of power, resources and news from underground. Then thank Avid Reader Catherine for making sure I did not neglect to share this disruptive bit: “New York is Investigating Exxon Mobil for Allegedly Misleading the Public About Climate Change”.  Also disruptive: the most powerful person in the world isn’t the President of the United States, according to Forbes. It’s Vladimir Putin, right on schedule as Pluto (empowerment) makes contact with his Sun for the third time.

More on power and resources: the full text of the Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement has finally been released. Bernie Sanders says it is worse than he thought, and here’s why. This just in: the Obama Administration has decided to reject the Keystone XL pipeline, citing climate change.

Meanwhile, on Mars…(for those who like to keep current on what we are learning about the Red Planet)…because sometimes news on Planet Earth is too much to bear.

Let’s end on two optimistic notes: 1) a photo of  Justin Trudeau’s new Canadian cabinet, which is  “the most diverse in the country’s history” ; and 2) a mention of a cherished book I hadn’t read in years — The Phantom TollboothIt’s a wonderful escapist fantasy, laced with biting wit and practical strategies for manifesting your dreams in this material world. There are some things you can control and some things you can’t. Tollbooth offers real wisdom on how to master the former. It’s a fitting reflection for the best a blend of Saturn and Neptune energies can be. May it inspire you to new heights, with your feet firmly planted on the ground. And if that’s not enough motivation and guidance, there’s always a personal consultation with your friendly neighborhood astrologer — here’s how to contact me.

Astro-logical Forecast for Wednesday 6/24/2015: Mars in Cancer; Hot Horoscopes

If you feel like you’re being kicked out of bed, you’re picking up on the energetic boost suggested by the First Quarter Moon, exact at 7:02AM ET. Said Moon is in people-pleasing Libra, seeking popularity, balance and fairness in relationship. What challenges may come to light re: the agenda you set last week on the New Moon? You’ve got the whole day free and clear to work it out.

Two and a half hours later, action hero Mars pulls focus by leaving Gemini for Cancer. Look for prominent action related to home and homeland security — or general Mars matters such as iron and steel. Here’s a story that popped up an hour or so ago — about an axe thrown by a Fox & Friends host that missed its target and hit a West Point drummer instead. Will this be tomorrow morning’s hot topic?

Mars will be in Cancer until August 6th. You are more personally affected by transiting Mars entering Cancer if you are someone like — say — Barack Obama, who has his Venus at 1 degree of Cancer. Immediately we expect his social expression to be more active and prominent. And — oh lookie — here is an article from the NYT about how he’s been wearing his heart on his sleeve more than his usual cool, airy (Moon in Gemini; Aquarius rising) mode of expression allows. Blame it on transiting Mars activating his naturally caring, sensitive social expression (yes, really), brought to a sensitive, deeply spiritual blossoming suggested by a prominent transit of Neptune. Really, no surprises here…but I suppose journalists do need something to write about.

Meryl Streep is another person affected by Mars at the Aries Point. She has Sun and Uranus conjunct at the Aries Point in Cancer (happy belated birthday, Ms. Streep). Yesterday she made headlines by urging Congress to pass the Equal Rights Amendment.  You may recall the last time her horoscope was discussed in this forecast it was expected that she would experience a change of direction in her career that would also be prominent. And now she is getting quite serious about this women’s equality thing — RAH.

In other news, the Trans-Pacific Partnership was fast-tracked by the Senate yesterday. Score another victory for Barack Obama’s horoscope, which clearly suggests he’s at the top of his game. No lack of ambition and gravitas for him through early fall, as Saturn completes its series of transits to his Midheaven and his Moon.

Maybe someone else can think of a good reason why this deal should go through, but I am skeptical for reasons cited here, and in this video here. If you can think of a good reason, feel free to share.

Elsewhere…

That flag. That Confederate flag. Suddenly most everyone is in agreement — as if it just hit them for the first time in a quantum leap of consciousness.  Soon it will be off the state license plates in Virginia; Walmart and Sears won’t be selling flag-emblazoned items anymore; heck, maybe Mississippi may change its state flag.

In South Carolina,  Governor Nikki Haley urged state legislators to consider taking it down from state grounds. Calling it an “emotional” decision, she said:

“It came down to one simple thing,” Ms. Haley said in a phone interview Tuesday. “I couldn’t look my son or daughter in the face and justify that flag flying anymore.”

Just like that. A quantum leap facilitated in the aftermath of the Uranus-Pluto square and the brutal force of transiting Pluto square Saturn in the US horoscope.  Wake up and smell the coffee. Change or die. Stuff like that.

Fun fact: Sabian Symbols work in pairs. I did not tell you about the opposing Symbol of last week’s New Moon at 25 Gemini but here it is: “a flag bearer”. Interesting, eh? Wish I had time to write more…

What’s going on in your horoscope? Here’s the 411 on personal consultations. Thank you for reading this forecast.

Astro-logical Forecast for Friday 5/8/2015 & the Weekend: Practical Poetry

Keep making it happen. Moon continues through enterprising Capricorn, finding value in what is earthy and practical.  You might have gotten a hit of inspiration this AM, as the Moon made contact with Neptune. Added vision can be yours, courtesy of a challenge between mental Mercury and Neptune, exact tomorrow at 12:09p. That’s good for healers, artists and people selling snake oil.

Tonight around 6PM and 11PM ET, Moon makes its weekly clash with Pluto and Uranus, respectively. Typical are power plays, upsets and revelations.

Saturday the Moon continues its forward march vibe until 4:35PM ET. Get all those chores and shopping done then. Between 4:35p and 7:22P, ET, chill during the Moon void….then hang out with your funky friends, including ones you haven’t met yet. Thank you, Moon in networking Aquarius.

Sunday is Mothers’ Day. Communication channels are smooth around 1:10PM ET, when the Moon and Mercury align. An over-the-top indulgence may be yours around 7:51PM ET, when the Moon is opposed by regal Leo. Or the good of the many may be challenged by the will of one.

Moon is void all day Monday between 6:36am and 10:53PM ET. Slow start to the work week — or twist in your routine.

And now, the news.

Venus was at the Aries Point yesterday, bringing prominence to issues around women, aesthetics, money, social expression. Front page article on the NYT was a scathing expose of the wretched working conditions at nail salons (aesthetics) in New York. Here’s part 2 — about toxins in the workplace — I haven’t read it yet.  If it’s never occurred to you — while you’re paying $9 dollars for manicure — that the reason it’s so cheap is because your manicurist is barely being paid, I don’t know what to say, other than this is one of those issues that’s had a SEP field around it for years. I learned that from reading Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. 42.

Also making headlines in NY: enclosed lactation stations  for breastfeeding moms have just opened at local airports. Huzzah! Making headlines everywhere is a parody of a typical  contraceptive ad with comedian Amy Schumer. No thanks at all  to the mainstream media for failing to post it on any outlet without either 1) giving away the jokes or 2) presenting it with  an editorial slant.  Skip the headline; enjoy the video; think “Venus at the Aries Point, putting women’s issues in focus” — what more slant do you need?

In other news — any planet at 29 Gemini — where Venus was yesterday before it entered Cancer — is going to trigger Edward Snowden’s 29 Gemini Sun. Venus-Sun transits are usually good ones. Yesterday a federal appeals court ruled that the NSA spy program —  the one which collects massive amounts of data on the phone calls of everyone and their dog — is unconstitutional.  This is one of the programs made public by Mr. Snowden. Somewhere in Moscow, perhaps he’s raising a glass of vodka — with bitters.

Speaking of dogs and homeland security —  did you hear about Lilly, the shih-tzu? She has been reunited with her Denver family after being missing for four years. She was found in Illinois. How she got there is a mystery.

Update on the UK election: it was a stunning upset — in that there was no upset!  David Cameron gets to keep his job. Pollsters are confounded. I haven’t looked at Mr. Cameron’s horoscope, so can’t comment.

Finally — to close on this British theme: a tip of the hat to the poetic potential of the weekend’s Mercury-Neptune square.  This quiz wants to know: “How Well Do You Know Your Romantic Poets?”

Perhaps there’s a Romantic poet in your future. You may have a latent talent…or might be primed to attract a new love who’ll serenade you. Did you know that these potentials can be seen in your horoscope? Here’s how to schedule a personal consultation.

Thank you for reading this forecast — and for sharing it with the rest of the Free World.

See you Monday!
