"I was blown away. It was so different from anything I imagined...more direct than psychiatry or psychology...and cheaper! I left the session with a feeling of control and confidence. Worth a dozen therapy sessions.
Thank you!"

Wednesday 3/6/2019: Uranus in Taurus; New Moon in Pisces

Happy Tuesday evening and Mardi Gras to you!

Moon entered Pisces at 3:11 AM ET. It’s been cruising without input from other planets, facilitating your efforts to go with the flow — but slowly. I say slowly because as you know, Mercury (how we need to think and get from Point A to Point B) turned retrograde at 1:19 PM ET. See my last post for all the details.

Tomorrow (WEDNESDAY) at 3:05 AM ET, rebel Uranus leaves Aries, never to be experienced again for most of us on Spaceship Earth. Uranus spends roughly seven years in each zodiac sign, which means it takes 84 years to journey around the Sun.  Do you plan to be here in 84 years?

Uranus refers to disruption, shocking revelations, technology, genius, mutations and innovation and more. Aries refers to the self, warriors, courage, pioneers, the self and also the self. Over the past seven years, we’ve seen Uranus in Aries reflected in the self-driving car, robot warfare, drones, the gig economy, the selfie and any other revolutionary me-me-me idea about being first. And it’s been a bit unsettling to our sense of self, right?

Uranus refers to change. Change is the only constant, as my Headspace meditation app loves to remind me. Aries is a Fire Sign, a fluid form. Change is not so challenging to Fire.  Uranus is now entering Taurus, which is an Earth Sign. Earth is not fluid. It does not change form easily, except under extreme pressure. Have you ever been in a earthquake?

Taurus refers to material comfort and security. It needs to establish form and function. Uranus is the disruptor. Taurus refers to money, banks, Earth, food (and how we grow it). The mantra for Taurus is I HAVE — and with Uranus in Taurus for the next seven years, we will be challenged to change our perspective on ownership. We will also see a ton of technological advances in these areas, most of which will promise to set us free from whatever rut Uranus thinks we’re in. Taurus also refers to beauty, values and sensual pleasures. Technology is likely to radically change these areas as well.

Uranus was last in Taurus from 1934 – 1942. In the U.S., it began with the Great Depression, followed by World  War II and FDR’s New Deal. A revolutionary change in perspective on ownership, right? Of course it makes sense to be talking about another New Deal now — and color it Green.  There was a rise in fascism during this time period, as you should well know. Uranus will be in Taurus until 2026. As if on cue, here’s the top story at The Guardian: “EU faces ‘nationalist nightmare’ in the next five years,”says prominent European politician few in America would recognize.

If you were born in the early days of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio or Aquarius, you have a wake-up, shake-up, break-up or break-out penciled in your cosmic calendar. Many clients calling now are feeling the buzz, planning strategies and managing expectations. Here’s the 411 on consultations.

So that’s Uranus in Taurus.

The rest of WEDNESDAY is brought to you by the New Moon in Pisces, with a heavy dose of Neptune. Translation: planting seeds for vision, from the sublime to the ridiculous. A Pisces Moon intuitively understands that boundaries are an illusion; we are all one; we are all in this together. Pisces can flow as sweetly as a gentle stream or pull as powerfully as the ocean’s undertow. Will ye float or will ye wallow? A Pisces Moon needs to identify and work with impressions and ideals.

This Pisces New Moon is made more boundless by its proximity to Neptune. Pay attention to your dreams and write them down. Take some time to meditate or dance. The New Moon happens at 11:04 AM ET. Moon meets up with Neptune at 11:48 AM ET. Four hours later, Moon makes a harmonious aspect with Saturn, planet of structure. This is another reason to write those impressions down! Give them form. At 8:01 PM ET, the Sun makes its annual meet-up with Neptune, suggesting some enchanted evening.

The Sabian Symbol for the New Moon is “a flow of inspiration.” That’s apt. Sabian Sage Blain Bovee says this is “an image of seamless inner connection with the source of life power…the arousal of creative energy that can lead to action.” Bovee advises us to apply this Symbol with a mind to “deep inner sources of inspiration, almost compelling urges to act without thinking; the clash between wild instinct and tamed outer expression.” Why “wild instincts?” Because the opposite Sabian Symbol to “a flow of inspiration” is “an orangutan,” and here is what Bovee has to say about that.

You are more personally affected by this New Moon if you have a planet or point around 15 degrees of Pisces, Virgo, Gemini or Sagittarius.

The rest of the week goes like this:

  • THURSDAY: Moon in Pisces, traveling mostly free and clear until 2:08 PM ET, when it meets up with mental Mercury and an intuited idea, for better or for worse. Moon then goes void (chill!) and then charges into Aries at 3:27 PM ET. See if you notice the shift in focus and energy. Aries needs to get there first, not now, but RIGHT NOW. With Mercury retrograde, we are advised to look both ways thrice before rushing across the street.
  • FRIDAY: Moon continues its me-me-me crusade in Aries, free and clear. It’s helped by a harmony between the Sun and Saturn (helpful for structure, communication and cooperation) that will be exact on…
  • SATURDAY: …at 2:10 AM ET. The morning may interesting, as Moon is challenged by wet blanket Saturn at 3:44 AM ET, then clashes with Pluto at 11:56 AM ET. The latter suggests a power play or emotional catharsis. A harmony with Jupiter endeavors to smooth everything out, before the Moon goes void for the rest of the day. Chill, chill, chill — focus on routine. Do not make a mountain out of a molehill. Indulge in a little fantasy or intangible creative escape, suggested by a harmony between Mars and Neptune, exact at 12:21 PM ET on…
  • SUNDAY. Moon enters Taurus with a bit of a jolt at 3:31 AM ET, as it meets up with Uranus.  You can then use the Taurus Moon’s consolidating drive to restore the status quo.

If you’re working on Monday, it’ll be busy.

And now, the news.

Mercury Retrograde Important Safety Tip: triple check facts and figures during this time.

Speaking of Uranus ruling shocks and Aries ruling the head, actor Luke Perry suffered a massive stroke last Wednesday. If you were watching TV in the 90s, you will remember Mr. Perry as Dylan McKay, the bad boy heartthrob from Beverly Hills 90210. I noted a brief blurb about the stroke on Wednesday, but wondered later if it was an error — or maybe a dream — as the mainstream media did not keep up with this story, even though Mr. Perry was only 52 years old.  These are the times in which we live. When Mr. Perry passed away yesterday, the New York Times did not have an obituary ready to go. It has one now, along with a tribute from an adoring  fan…and a cautionary tale penned by a woman who had a stroke at 49.

Here is Mr. Perry’horoscope — no birth time available. He was a people-pleasing Libra driven by a perfection-seeking Moon in Virgo. He was also driven by a keen sense of suffering, likely related to a challenging relationship with the father. He was born with the opportunity to transform that suffering into an art form, and that’s pretty much what he says he did in the NYT obituary. RIP.

Thank you for reading this forecast — and sharing it with your friends. Stay tuned for continuing updates on the astonishing synchronicity of planetary patterns and the news. With Mercury retrograde, I expect we’ll see plenty of secrets from the past come to light. And that’s no bull.

So….how many degrees does Uranus move as it travels through each house? My sun is 14 degrees Taurus. Don’t know that someone like me would be feeling any direct hits at this point…

  • Meg

What I’m asking is how quickly does Uranus move as it travels over those 7 years through a sign? I am imagining the Uranian effects as moving in waves.

    • graceastrology

Great question! In 2019, Uranus will travel to 6 degrees 37 minutes of Taurus, before turning retrograde. By the end of 2019 it will be at 2 degrees 42 minutes of Taurus. Waves is a good image.
