Astro-logical Forecast for Friday 10/23/2015 & The Weekend

TGIF!!

The Moon is in Pisces today, driving the day with a need to identify what is ideal, which it’s willing to follow on faith, intuition or some other intangible belief. Friday morning dawns with an advance, a heavy responsibility or a wet blanket, as taskmaster Saturn squares the sensitive Pisces Moon at 6:34AM ET. A need for vision quickly follows suit, as the Moon then meets up with Neptune at 1:17PM ET.

Big news on Friday happens at 1:47PM ET, when the Sun leaves Libra for Scorpio. As I’ve said before,  Scorpio demands substance; none of that airy-theory-rational stuff that Libra does so well. Scorpio is a deeply emotional sign, noted for its need for privacy, power and control.  Scorpios “build all the way up to Heaven…and all the way down to Hell,” wrote astrologer Linda Goodman. Hopefully you can hang with one who builds a stairway to Heaven. A Scorpio heading for Hell will happily annihilate everyone and everything in its way. Really, they are so very interesting.

On Saturday the Pisces Moon goes void at 7:18AM ET…not to enter the next sign, Aries, until 2:22AM on Sunday. This is a day to chill and go with the flow. It is not a day for shopping, as the Moon void suggests a higher probability that whatever you impulsively buy will prove to be of little use. If you don’t believe me, test the theory out for yourself. Take care of routine concerns and avoid making mountains out of molehills, especially in the early hours of the day when the Moon is opposed by aggressive Mars in hypercritical Virgo. Maybe use that perfecting drive to declutter your space.

Although…decluttering is not what comes to mind when I think of Sunday’s expansive meet-up between Venus and Jupiter at 4:03PM ET. That day will be driven by the Moon in me-me-me Aries, a sign that will happily fall down stairs because it’s faster than walking. And here is Justin Trudeau to prove it to you. Canada’s new PM has Moon in Aries opposed by wacky Uranus, so we immediately expect an eccentric sense of humor and a need to shock. And this is exactly what he says in this videoen francais mais si charmant en disant comment il aime choquer les gens. And then he falls down a flight of stairs.

The Venus-Jupiter meet-up suggests good fortune in traditional astrology. If you have a planet or angle around 15 degrees of Virgo, you could consider buying a couple of lottery tickets. Hey, ya never know. At 6:59PM ET, mental Mercury is rattled by an opposition from rebel Uranus, perhaps building on whatever power play and revelation we saw around earlier in the week. We can expect tech breakthroughs, cosmic revelations and other upsets to the status quo. You’re personally affected by the bolt from blue if you have a planet or angle around 18 degrees of Aries, Capricorn, Cancer or Libra. If you don’t know where your planets are, order the Astro-Basics Report, described on this page.

So I’m thinking we’ll have some verve and excitement on Sunday. On Monday, the Aries Moon meets up with Uranus at 6:57AM, suggesting an upset to the start of the workweek. Moon goes void for the whole business day at 8:25AM ET. If you sleep through your alarm, don’t fret about it.

And now, the news.

Plenty of headlines reflecting the intense, no-holds-barred social expression, mindset and communication we might expect on a day colored by Pluto in contact with Mercury and Venus. “Major Vatican Summit Erupts into Theological Slugfest Over Pope’s Vision for the Church”, just hit as I listen to the another intense slugfest happening in Congress, as Hillary Clinton testifies about Benghazi. Trey Gowdy, the Chair of the Benghazi committee, currently has transiting Pluto opposing his natal Venus-Mars conjunction in Cancer, suggesting relentless force applied in social expression and action. Yep, that is what I’m hearing right this minute. It’s the perfect background noise for a story I’m reading now about Thug Kitchen, a vegan blog whose latest profanity-laced cookbook is also making news today. Today’s potential for blunt, raw social expression is also reflected in this popular headline: “Everyone Is Downloading iOS9.1 for the Middle Finger Emoji”

In the category of cosmic revelations, add these stories:  “NASA Images of Cosmic Catastrophe Give Glimpse of Earth’s Ultimate Fate” and “Rare Merging Stars Spotted; Set to Explode,”  which is what Rep Elijah Cummings’ head just did as the Benghazi hearings moved into recess. Mr. Cummings has Venus opposing Pluto, suggesting no small amount of emotion invested in his social expression. He also has an intense pattern known as a T-Square involving Saturn, squaring a Mercury-Uranus opposition. This suggests a hard-nosed mindset, with the potential for disruptive communication.

Meanwhile, here’s cheerfully irreverent  NYT columnist Gail Collins with her unique take on today’s intensely dynamic inaction in Congress. It’s just about the lightest headline I can find right now. Most all of the rest concern military actions, arson and other violence around the world…what we might expect when a planet makes contact with Uranus and Pluto, as Mercury is doing now.  Thank goodness for goodnewsnetwork.org for a ray of sunshine…and hey! How about those Mets (unless you are a Cubs fan)?

Astro-logical Forecast for Tuesday 6/12/2012: Jupiter in Gemini

OK, break’s over. Moon entered me-me-me Aries at 12:21AM ET — with considerable enthusiasm, mind you, courtesy of a supportive connection to jolly Jupiter. What bold charge will you be leading today? A sudden disruption to the momentum, coupled with a power play or emotional catharsis may be in store around 4-6PM ET, when that headstrong Moon collides with rebel Uranus and transformational Pluto. There may be plenty more to talk about, especially if some insensitive type steps on more than one set of toes around 9:05PM ET.

Countering the intensity and likely volatility of the day is a stabilizing connection to the Sun by  Saturn (structure, judgement) in rational Libra, exact at 8:14AM ET on Wednesday. Which influence will prevail in your own personal world?

More on Jupiter’s ingress into Gemini. Traditional astrology holds that Jupiter is in its detriment when in Gemini. Why? Because Jupiter symbolizes depth and expansion, as in deep thoughts that become belief systems embraced the world over. Gemini is more comfortable with the immediate news of the day, a story that generates buzz with titillating detail, often soon forgotten. Why? Because another “breaking news” story is sure to come along any minute, distracting us from efforts to explore an issue in-depth.  If you have ever worked in a newsroom, you know what I’m talking about.  Jupiter in Gemini can be great at coming up with tons of ideas, snippets of information and sides to a story — but it needs serious help when it comes to turning those ideas into workable solutions to serious problems.

Jupiter was last in Gemini on June 30, 2000 through July 13, 2001. If you have a key planet in Gemini, you would have likely experienced a period of expansion and reward in whatever area of life that planet represents in your horoscope. For example, if your Midheaven is Gemini, the reward would likely have been in your profession. Jupiter will be in Gemini until June 26, 2013. It turns retrograde on October 16, 2012 and direct on January 30, 2013. It will spend two months at 15 and 16 degrees of Gemini and another two months at 6 and 7 degrees of Gemini, so if you have a key point in your horoscope at those degrees, take note.

In 2012, you may also reap the rewards of transiting Jupiter more directly if you have major points or planets in the first half of Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces. For everyone else, look to where Gemini falls in your horoscope for the area of life that’s up for a burst of optimism and expansion — or where you may find yourself overextended. If you don’t know your horoscope, consider giving me a call and booking a consultation — especially if you are an Aries, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn born in the first half of those signs. You’ve either been going through major life changes or you will any minute now. This applies to anyone with Moon, Ascendant or Midheaven in those signs.

From the headlines:  on a day with transformational Pluto and technogeek Uranus squaring mental Mercury, Apple announced upgrades in it product line. In other news, a novel program to get drivers to avoid traffic jams (Mercury rules transportation) and an alleged breakthrough in battery technology, which could be good for electric cars.

Astro-logical Forecast for Monday 6/11/2012: Brainstorm Alert

Happy Monday! And how was your “perfectly lovely weekend”? Mine went as forecast, so much that I couldn’t even bring myself to focus on the first day of the work week until now — and wouldn’t you know it, the Moon is void of course all day in intuitive Pisces, not to enter fiery Aries until 12:21AM ET on Tuesday.

As regular readers of this forecast know, when the Moon is void, we may experience unexpected twists in our efforts to move in a straight line. Crises that crop up later turn out to be much ado about nothing. Your waitress may greet you with a cheerful “Good Morning!”, even though it’s 2PM in the afternoon. Or you may be in the middle of writing an astro-logical forecast, and someone who was supposed to show up on your doorstep at 11AM wants to know if he can be there in ten minutes (apologies for the delayed forecast — and presumably you’re all just going with the flow!).

Today’s dreamy Pisces Moon got off to a super-charged start this morning. While you were sleeping, Moon was opposed by aggressive Mars (3:16Am ET) and squared by the Sun (6:41AM ET), suggesting possible clashes of will that may have manifested in your dreams (mine sure did!) and another hit of whatever revolutionary/visionary communication and mindset you projected as part of your New Moon agenda three weeks ago.

Innovation and revelation in thought, communication and transportation are especially strong today, as mental Mercury is squared and energized by brilliant, status quo disrupting Uranus (1:42PM ET) and opposed by ruthless, corruption-exposing Pluto (9:04PM ET). This should make for truly offbeat headlines — like this one about the US Secretary of Commerce allegedly involved in a weird traffic accident, which the latest press release says may have been as a result of a “seizure” (which sounds very Mercury square Uranus to me).

But wait — there’s more! Geminis around the world are dancing for joy because Jupiter, the cosmic sugar daddy moves into Gemini at 1:22PM ET. I will write more on this in tomorrow’s forecast, because if I don’t ship this now, it won’t show up in your mailbox for another hour. I’ll only say this: Jupiter at 1 degree of Gemini will likely trigger the New Moon/solar eclipse we had at 1 Gemini on May 20th. I anticipate a release of a bottleneck of information that allows us to see more clearly into the murky depths.

Stay tuned…

Astro-logical Forecast for Tuesday 10/5/2010

Clean up your desk and take care of those pesky details. If your tasks require cooperation from others you can likely get it without too much fuss, especially if you add a little sugar. Some are still smarting from the thoughtless darts flung by those who just had to show how right they were yesterday (Moon, now in Virgo, is driven to be correct, to be RIGHT) — so say “please” and “thank you” today as if you really mean it.

We are in the dark side of the Moon — the old cycle is ending — the new one begins on Thursday. Until Thursday, we have a sense of anticipation — but are not sure what the new cycle will bring. Listlessness is one possible manifestation. That being said, you will likely get more done today than tomorrow or yesterday — so get to it.

Astro-logical Forecast for Monday 10/4/2010

Contact between nebulous Neptune and Moon in playful Leo can produce fanciful, ungrounded results, especially when the Moon is void-of-course. How else to explain pouring cold water over coffee grounds on a rainy Monday morning  : )  Moon-Neptune contact also suggests noting your dreams upon waking and letting your imagination run wild; you’ve got six hours (9:53AM – 4PM NY) before the Moon enters Virgo and demands an accounting, with t’s crossed and i’s dotted, if you please.

At 2AM Tuesday NY/11PM tonight in LA, investigative Pluto challenges Mercury (mind, communication, travel), revealing more news from the underground…likely in these veins: 1) thousands of foreclosures are halted because it is revealed that the paperwork is faulty; 2) hope arises that the trapped miners in Chile may soon be rescued — this came across the wires as I was typing; 3) and this one http://www.nytimes.com/2010/10/02/health/research/02infect.html?scp=1&sq=guatemala%20wellesley&st=cse — a Wellesley College professor uncovers an unsavory medical experiment that happened over 60 years ago, loaded with the symbolism of the weekend’s sexual Mars-Venus hook-up in Scorpio.

Back to Pluto challenging Mercury today and what it means for you: temper your words; pause before you unleash, lest you do damage with sharp insights expressed in cutting remarks. Positive manifestation: a sharp focus that enables you to get to heart of what’s on your plate, especially when the Moon moves into analytical Virgo later today.

Astro-logical Forecast for Friday 10/1/2010 and the Weekend

Get it done today — don’t leave it until Monday, especially if you’re on the East Coast. Monday the Moon will be void-of-course between 9:53AM and 4PM NY time; Angelenos can expect the work week won’t get into gear until after 1PM. And after this week’s heavy influence from Saturn the taskmaster, odds are good you’ve got a hefty to-do list on your desk this morning. So have at it, with a big dose of optimism likely provided by a face-off between Mercury (mind, communication) and expansive Jupiter. Some of the ideas and opinions expressed today may be downright outrageous.

Speaking of Mercury, it makes contact with the Big T-Square Party among the heavies beginning today with the aforementioned face-off against Jupiter at 6:36PM NY tonight, brilliant but Uranus tomorrow at 10:24AM, ruthless investigator Pluto on Tuesday and controlling Saturn next Friday. During this time span communications and travel may be erratic or otherwise jarring — in possibly productive ways such as technological breakthroughs and corruption exposed. On the down side, I’m anticipating a lot of spin in the headlines — likely over highly charged words that can’t be taken back. On a personal level, though your insights may be absolutely right, think it through before you open your mouth or hit “send” — your audience might not be ready to hear it.

Fortunately this is a weekend where you may not need to say much at all. The Moon will be in dramatic, playful Leo as of 2:21 PM NY (shoppers note the void from 11:21PM – 2:21PM NY – resist the urge to splurge at that time). Your urge to indulge in pleasures that are not material can be richly rewarding, thanks to a sexy, steamy hook-up between loving Venus and assertive Mars in Scorpio at 5:59PM NY. Find a partner and play — and if you don’t have a partner, get in touch with your inner child and create something of depth and substance.
