Astro-logical Forecast for Friday 1/14/2011 and the Weekend; More on the Myth of the 13th Sign

No exact aspects during business hours on both coasts, though toward the end of the day we can tune in to a stabilizing connection between earthy Moon in Taurus and Sun in Capricorn. See how much you can consolidate today and enjoy the evening, which offers the potential for epicurean delights. We shift into a much more talkative, less tactile space on Saturday, as Moon enters Gemini, the sign that NEEDS to inform. Note your dreams.

The highlight of the weekend is Mars entering airy Aquarius, suggesting that actions will be taken over the next few weeks that demonstrate individual freedom, social significance and humanitarian concerns. If that sound like a contradiction, well…that’s the nature of Aquarius.

Meanwhile, it is intriguing to see how many people are posting that “article” I wrote about on January 4th — the one in which an astronomer announced that your Sun Sign wasn’t really your Sun Sign, and, oh by the way, there are 13 signs in the zodiac. HuffPo, The Chicago Tribune and an NBC affiliate are just a few media outlets that carried — and not a single one appears to have interviewed an astrologer for a response and clarification! So…to clarify (in case you missed it on the 4th): the writer of the “article” in question appears to not understand the difference between the sidereal and tropical zodiacs, and he doesn’t seem to understand that there is a difference between the constellations and the signs of the zodiac as applied in various systems of astrology.

Check out these nifty articles and you’ll learn about the precession of the equinoxes and other cool things about your home planet: http://www.astrologycom.com/precession2.html — and please check out the forecast I posted on Jan 4th for more details — and email me if you still have questions. Bottom line: your Sun Sign in Western astrology has not changed!

(with gratitude to astrologer Jill Amery for the link to the articles — I like them much better than the ones I found last week)
