Astro-logical Forecast for Friday 3/18/2011 and the Weekend: Happy Vernal Equinox 2011!

TGIF, you say? Finding peace and quiet over the weekend — certainly in the headlines — could be a bit of a challenge. Moon is in precise, perfecting Virgo on Friday, working to bring order out of chaos and overcome whatever possible obstacle is dropped on our desks in the AM. Take the time to think it through, as opposed to reacting defensively.

Saturday through Monday might be exciting and/or disruptive. The Full Moon on Saturday is quite potent — at 29 degrees of Virgo opposing the Sun at 29 degrees of Pisces, the same degree status quo-disrupting Uranus was at on March 10th. I’ll be watching headlines in Japan and the Middle East. After a two hour void, Moon enters people-pleasing Libra at 4:03PM EDT, raising our awareness of our need to relate, perhaps creating a conflict with other needs to be free. Compromise, anyone? Perhaps not.

Sun enters Aries on Sunday at 7:21PM EDT, officially marking the first day of Spring, the beginning of a new cycle and the possibility for a big cosmic, seismic or consciousness shift. But wait — there’s more: Sun meets up with rebel Uranus at the Aries Point (remember the forecasts I posted earlier this month about the Aries Point and why it is so sensitive and significant?) Monday at 8:25AM EDT. In your own personal world, what state of independence and innovation are you about to declare? Take the leap, have courage, be a pioneer. Excitement can be a positive thing! In world affairs, I will be surprised if someone or someplace isn’t shaken up over the weekend by rebellions, accidents or wicked weather.

In Los Angeles, the actual weather forecast for Sunday and Monday calls for rain, which appears to be supported by nebulous Neptune and Mars in watery Pisces. But rain in LA can be wicked.  Be careful on the roads, wherever you may be driving this weekend. One more thing: Mercury turns retrograde March 30th. Back up your computer today.

Astro-logical Forecast for Wednesday 3/16/2011: How to Handle Moon in Leo

After the Moon void ended at 3:33 PM EDT yesterday, you may have noted a decidedly fiery shift in mood, as Moon entered Leo, a sign that needs to loved and adored (if you’re involved with someone with Moon in Leo, do tell them how fabulous they are several times a day — that’s your key to making that relationship a success).

We also had an enthusiastic, inspirational connection between Mercury (mind) and Jupiter (expansion) in pioneering Aries, perhaps leading us to think big, optimistic thoughts — never mind those pesky details.Today we have more potential for exuberance in your own personal world — hopefully of the constructive kind, not the irrational. Other than the potential for encounters with certain Leonine drama queens, the aspects today are pretty darn positive.

Meanwhile, in Japan… As is often the case with the charts of nations, there are several horoscopes in use; the one for modern Japan preferred by my mentor is November 3, 1946 at 8:30 AM in Tokyo –this is the horoscope for the official birth of the Constitution. It’s interesting to see status-quo disrupting Uranus making an exact connection to the this chart’s Sun/Moon midpoint (for civilians: this is an especially sensitive point in a horoscope, as advanced students of astrology will appreciate) at 29 Pisces; note that 29 Pisces is in a challenging square to that potent lunar eclipse at 29 Gemini-29 Sagittarius on the 2010 Winter Solstice (12/21/2010 — if you want to review that forecast). Note that 29 Pisces will be triggered again by the Full Moon on the 19th; now is a good time to send calm, healing thoughts across the Pacific — if you happen to believe that such thoughts can be beneficial.

It would also be a reeaalllllly good time for the whole planet to get serious about safe, sustainable energy resources and our (rusting, rotting) infrastructure, as suggested by current challenges to Pluto (radiation, resources underground) in Capricorn (government institutions). 2012-2015 is just around the corner… …and hey! so is Spring! : )

P.S. I’ll be back on the air this Thursday at 9PM PDT — guesting on “Get Real” with Shaman Durek — we’ll be talking astrology, taking calls and all kinds of fun stuff: http://www.indie1031.com/include.php?pageid=%2Fshows%2Fget-real.asp

Astro-logical Forecast for Monday and Tuesday 3/14-15/2011: Uranus at the Aries Point

Scanning Sunday’s headlines for items manifesting as anticipated (revelations of corruption in the system, words spoken that can’t be taken back and more news from underground) and we find the following: a State Dept official resigns under pressure over his brutally candid opinion regarding the treatment of Bradley Manning http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/03/13/state-department-spokesman-out-after-comments-on-prisoner/?scp=1&sq=crowley+resigns&st=cse; the hacker group Anonymous is set to release documents alleging fraud on the part of Bank of America http://www.zerohedge.com/article/hacker-collective-anonymous-release-documents-proving-bank-america-committed-fraud-monday; the lost city of Atlantis may have been found http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/03/13/atlantis-found-lost-city-discovered_n_835088.html

Of course, there is the continuing story of the 9.0 (!!!) quake and tsunami in Japan. Astrologers have been anticipating big changes reflected by the planet Uranus moving into Aries, and big changes we are seeing: as a result of the quake, the Earth’s axis and the coastline of Japan were dramatically altered — just like that:  http://www.nytimes.com/2011/03/14/world/asia/14seismic.html?hp

Earthquakes are often connected to the planet Uranus; radiation is connected to Pluto. You may recall the Jupiter-Pluto square I wrote about on February 25th, suggesting this would be a time when energy resources would be up for evaluation. What do you think? Should we build more nuclear plants or should we explore other sources of energy? “Are US Nuclear Reactors Safe” http://www.nytimes.com/roomfordebate/2011/03/13/japans-nuclear-crisis-lessons-for-the-us?hp

Today Moon  continues its sojourn through Cancer, a placement that needs to establish emotional and home security. With this in mind, I am thinking it would be nice if certain journalists could kindly delete the words “FEARED” and “FEAR” from their collective vocabulary. Surely there must be a way to communicate news without contributing to collective anxiety. Emotions may well continue to run high this morning; hopefully giving way to a more stable, sober connection between Venus (love, money, art) and Saturn (necessary controls) later this afternoon. This should prove helpful to the people of Japan, as they must adapt to rolling blackouts; a friend who lives outside Tokyo reports the power outages are “paralyzing traffic” as citizens strive to do business as usual with reduced energy consumption; he also writes quite matter-of-factly that this shared sacrifice is necessary, as the burden of the quake’s damage must be carried by all Japanese citizens.

Tuesday we’ve got a break — the first in many days — in the form of a void-of-course Moon from 6:05AM – 3:33PM EDT. If it has to ship, get it off your desk today or tomorrow after the void. East Coasters, you’ve got almost a whole day to chill, float, brainstorm, avoid impulsive shopping sprees, watch as meetings are canceled or people — perhaps even you, flake out. Wait to act on your big, inspired, pioneering ideas when Moon enters regal Leo at 3:33 PM EDT.

In other news, I’m still in Los Angeles — here until the 23rd — with more in-person appointments available, now that I’ve extended my stay. Looking forward to being of service : )

Astro-logical Forecast for Friday 3/11/2011 and the Weekend: More on Uranus in Aries

The big news in the astrological world is the planet Uranus moving into Aries at 7:52PM EST today. Uranus is the shock to the system, the disruption to the status quo, genetic mutations, genius, innovation, technology…and yes, earthquakes are also connected to Uranus. And the last degree of Pisces/first degree of Aries is a highly sensitive, proactive placement (“the Aries Point) that tends to bring prominence to whatever planet is sitting on it. And with all the build-up and buzz in the astrological community about this erratic planet completing an 84 year cycle and being “born again”, I’m not surprised to see a “megaquake” and a tsunami dominating the headlines today (“Huge Quake Trigger Tsunami Off Japan’s Coast”, for those living under a rock http://www.nytimes.com/2011/03/12/world/asia/12japan.html?ref=global-home   Stunned and humbled by its magnitude, yes. But surprised — no.

It’s been a while since I’ve mentioned this, but now would be an excellent time to check the supplies in the emergency kits I know you keep in your home, office and in your car. You do have these kits handy, don’t you? First aid, fresh water and batteries, duct tape — those sorts of things. And don’t say “it can’t happen here” – in the past several months we’ve had tornadoes in Queens and blizzards in Atlanta. We live in exciting times –please plan accordingly.

Expect an absolute buzz of information today. Moon is in chatty Gemini, determined to keep us informed. If it’s too much for your system, eat some potatoes. That’s actually an old wives’ remedy for staying grounded during an eclipse, but it can’t hurt here. Saturday the Gemini vibe continues, introducing the first challenge to your New Moon agenda, which involves devising a strategy for a sense of belonging — and determining exactly to whom and to where.

Sunday may be emotionally challenging. Moon will be in home security-loving Cancer as of 10:29AM EST, after a measly 75 minute void/time out. It gets a jolt from Uranus in the AM and a potentially moody bastard power play from Pluto in the late evening hours…and in between that we’ll see a challenge to Mercury (mind, communication, travel) in impulsive, feisty Aries from ruthless, cut-to-the-quick Pluto.  I urge you to count to ten before you let loose with words that can’t be taken back. Watch for scenarios of words gone wild in the headlines, as well as more revelations on corruption in the system, “my way or the highway” stances and/or cuts straight to the core. Can we all see clearly now?

Thanks to all who listened to “Get Real” with Shaman Durek on Indie 103.1 last night. I’m thrilled to be invited back on the show next Thursday — it’s so much fun taking calls and talking about astrology!  That means I’ll be extending my stay in Los Angeles for a few more days. If you’d like to book an in-person consultation in LA, operators are standing by. I’ll post a link to last night’s broadcast shortly : )

Astro-logical Forecast for Thursday 3/10/2011: Cosmic Wake-Up Call

In your own personal world, the potential is for more of the same from yesterday — review that forecast and plan accordingly. Take heart, take action and begin giving form to your ideas.

In Wisconsin, we see Governor Scott Walker and his colleagues in the State Senate relentlessly moving ahead with the Party of Styrofoam agenda http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/03/02/house-styrofoam-cups-wurtz_n_830536.htmlhttp://www.nytimes.com/2011/03/10/us/10wisconsin.html?hp  Is this the beginning of the wake-up call suggested by the approaching challenges to ruthless Pluto (government institutions) by shock-to-the-system Uranus  (revolution), which astrologers have been writing about as early as 2005? (Note that the first of seven exact challenges will be exact in 2012, continuing through 2015). Having read the brief on Governor Walker’s horoscope posted here a couple of weeks ago, last night’s clever maneuver to vote on a proposal to restrict collective bargaining rights for union workers in the public sector should come as no surprise.

In other news, I’ll be talking more about astrology tonight at 9PM PST on the internet radio show “Get Real” with Shaman Durek — tune in here: http://www.indie1031.com/include.php?pageid=%2Fshows%2Fget-real.asp We’ll be taking calls, too — don’t miss  your chance to ask a question or two about your own unique horoscope – I’ll have my computer with me in the studio!

Astro-logical Forecast for Wednesday 3/9/2011: You Are the Hero

Inspired thoughts, plucked from the realm of dreams. Take some time today to visualize your life at its highest possible manifestation. Your thoughts can be positively electric over the next few days. Dream big. Be specific. Write it down. Let it go — and be aware of how quickly events can conspire to make your intentions a reality. A new cycle is about to begin, favoring courage, pioneers and the power of one individual to make a difference. Imagine yourself living up to all that potential.

Astro-logical Forecast for Monday 3/8/2011: When Mars Runs Wild

Welcome to the first full business day of the New Moon cycle!

Moon is in the pioneering, courageous me-first sign of Aries, suggesting a need to take action — and action we will likely see, because Mars, the planet which rules Aries AND action, is running wild. By “running wild” I mean that this planet is not making any key contacts among the other planets, and planets, left unattended, tend to respond by attracting a lot of attention. (The technical astrological term for a planet not making major aspects with other planets is “peregrine” — that’s your astro-logical Word of the Day).

Also running wild/peregrine today are Sun and Saturn. Hmmm. Willful action attempting to control/structure running wild? Yeah — that’s what we’re likely to see in the headlines…with a potential wet blanket greeting us before noon — watch the morning news programs. How does this apply to your own personal world? Note any restrictions that may manifest this morning (“may” is the operative word); adjust your strategy and proceed ahead. Note whatever flashes of brilliance illuminate your thought processes; these are likely to become even more intense as the week progresses — watch the headlines for communication/technological breakthroughs. Now that’s inspiring!

Note to readers in LA; my cell phone is now working again and I do have a few appointments left if you would like to book a consultation before I return to NY on the 14th.

Astro-logical Forecast for Tuesday 3/8/2011: What’s the Bzzzzzzz?

Slow start to the morning on the West Coast — really weird dreams — or maybe a strange twist in your daily commute? Moon is void from 8:04 – 9:52AM PST, a time when you might do something flaky like pour water through your coffee maker — without adding actual coffee. That’s one potential during a Moon void, and I have the data to prove it. The “weird dream” part is suggested by a contact to Moon from nebulous Neptune. East Coast residents, convert the time to EST and schedule your lunch break accordingly.

No aspects exact today, except the aforementioned contact between Moon and Neptune in the AM. After the void, Moon enters Taurus at 9:52AM PST/12:52PM EST, making it a great day to begin building a stable structure for your fabulous New Moon ideas. And I’m not joking about the “fabulous” part — flashes of brilliance are favored all week along.

Meanwhile, that bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzing sound you’re hearing — the one suggesting circuits overloading, breaking free of chains, keeping you up at night and demanding your attention — is eccentric, electric, innovative Uranus moving through the very last degree of the sign Pisces — the very end of the zodiac — about to be born again in Aries on March 11th. How might that intensity manifest in the headlines? Ask your friends born around March 19-20, June 20-21st, September 20-21st and January 19-20 if they’re having any intense, liberating upsets in their lives and take notes. I’ll be talking more about this significant cosmic shift Thursday, March 10th at 9PM PST on the internet radio program “Get Real” with Shaman Durek — you can tune in here: http://www.indie1031.com/include.php?pageid=%2Fshows%2Fget-real.asp It’s great to be back in Los Angeles!

Astro-logical Forecast for Friday 3/4/2011 and the Weekend: New Moon in Pisces

On this last day of the lunar cycle, go with the flow and wrap things up that you started a month ago.  If feelings of listlessness or restlessness come, as they often do on the dark side of the Moon,  this is your intuition telling you that the new cycle is just around the corner. Patience!

The New Moon in Pisces is exact at 3:46PM EST. There’s no let up on the frantic, quantum-leaping pace we’ve been on since the powerful eclipse of the Winter Solstice…until Mercury turns retrograde on March 30th. So…let’s go! But…where?

The chart for the New Moon features a lingering challenge to expansive Jupiter from ruthless Pluto (exact last Friday–please review the forecast for that day), suggesting resources — new and old — will be high on the agenda this month. There’s also a challenge to the North Node (group consciousness) from rebel Uranus, so eager to shake up the status quo in sudden, prominent ways…adhering to themes of freedom, universal suffering, compassion and brother/sisterhood.

The Sabian Symbol for the New Moon of 14 Pisces suggests unseen forces at work…later to be revealed, behind all the obvious turmoil. And perhaps this may prove to be useful in your own personal agenda. “A lady in a fox fur stole” is the Sabian Symbol for 14 Pisces, suggesting, writes astrologer Blain Bovee, “cunning camouflage for family protection.” Whereas last month’s New Moon suggested an audacious, yet boring (i.e., relentless and penetrating) approach, this month’s strategy suggests presenting an image that fits in — with style, with elegance, with thought. Just imagine this lady gliding through society, effortlessly, with a natural sense  of belonging. Where do you belong? How can you gain acceptance? Go with the flow!  Hmmm.

On the flip side, I wonder if we will see manifestations of some groups or individuals, having gained acceptance by seeming to fit in,  pushing quite a different agenda at later time. Let’s watch and see if it plays out in the headlines. Saturday: a day for  — going with the flow. What else, with five planets in Pisces? Yes, you can shop — or better yet, feed your soul — there’s no Moon void until 11:34 EST — and that’s only for 100 minutes.

After a possible jolt or a surprise twist, Moon enters pioneering, me-first Aries, bringing a more assertive energy to the table. Most of it should be delightful, save for a bit of a moody power battle in the early afternoon on Sunday. Put it into a creative project; do something physical (climb a mountain); work it out.

I am thrilled to be in Los Angeles for the weekend…there until the 14th.  I still have appointments available for personal consultations, as I will be gently reminding you all week. That’s one of the secrets to effective marketing, you know. Say it once, say it again, say it again and again. Thanks for reading and have a great weekend!

Astro-logical Forecast for Thursday 3/3/2011: The Dark Side of the Moon

Note your dreams upon waking — they may be especially vivid thanks to a hook-up between Moon and nebulous Neptune. And if you’re on the West Coast, you may even sleep in, thanks to a brief void-of-course Moon between 6:37AM  and 8:47AM PST. On the East Coast, you may notice a spacey, slow start to the day, augmented by that dreamy Moon-Neptune connection and Moon’s shift into Pisces after the void.

We’re still on the dark side of the Moon, good for wrapping up projects in preparation for the beginning of the new cycle, which begins Friday afternoon. And yet there’s a potency about this day, courtesy of a supportive connection between ruthless Pluto and Mars, planet of action. What will Governor Scott Walker do next (this connection does, for better or worse, tie in nicely with his horoscope)? Revelations and an efficient, effective course of action are suggested.

Looking ahead to the rest of the month – it’s still pretty much full speed ahead. Planning an escape? Jot down March 30th – April 22nd, the next Mercury retrograde, as a good time to head for the hills. Meanwhile, the excitement continues…

And in case you haven’t heard: only one more day before I head for Los Angeles, where I will be until March 14th. I can’t wait to be back in the City of Angels!! If you or anyone else you know would like to schedule an appointment for a personal consultation, please let me know. I would be delighted to be of service!
