Astro-logical Forecast for Monday 3/30/2015: Sneak Peek at the Week

Good Morning!

What wandering drama will Monday bring? The Leo Moon goes void at 9:57AM ET and doesn’t enter Virgo until 2:12PM on Tuesday. Focus on routine and roll with the twists and flakes that may come your way. You’ll also want to roll with a couple of wobbles between now and midday Tuesday,  as two planets change signs.

First is Mercury, which leaves Pisces for Aries at 9:44AM ET. That should pick up the pace of mindset and communication. Wait and see if there is any fallout from the New Moon/eclipse on March 20th, as Mercury will trigger that degree — 29 Pisces — before it enters Aries. Prominent endings making headlines, perhaps.

Second is Mars, which leaves Aries for Taurus at 12:27PM ET on Tuesday. So — mindset and communication speed up; action (Mars) slows down, becomes more deliberate and stubborn in its need to build a monument (Taurus), as opposed to leading a crusade (Aries).

Wednesday is apt for moving forward on the details of your organizational project, buoyed by an impassioned mindset and overall optimism that will carry through Thursday. Be advised that the Moon will be void from 5:01AM ET Thursday until 3:07AM ET on Friday. Better to ship or initiate on Wednesday.

By Thursday we’ll be feeling the buzz of a few notable events happening over the weekend. On Saturday we’ll have a Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse at 14 Libra/Aries. As the Moon waxes full, emotions are often heightened — doubly so, given the eclipse. Plus this Full Moon will engage Uranus and Pluto on Saturday, suggesting upsets, revelations and power plays. This potential volatility continues through next Wednesday, as Sun and Mercury also make contact with these two heavies.

And now, the news.

Italy’s highest court stunned many on Friday when it finally — once and for all — overturned the murder conviction of Amanda Knox, whose horoscope has been written about previously in this forecast. The last time I looked at her horoscope, my sense was that she was due for an upset — potentially liberating — when transiting Uranus made its first challenge to her Sun on April 10th. And indeed, she has been set free!

So now the question is how will the dreamy/bewildering transit of Neptune to her Gemini Ascendant play out? It won’t be through the “ego wipeout” she might have experienced if the conviction had been upheld. Both Uranus and Neptune will be active in her horoscope through February 2016. Creativity, charitable causes and rose-colored glasses are possibilities.

Meanwhile, here’s a stunning Uranus-Pluto disruption of the status quo of energy resources. The city of Georgetown, Texas has opted to switch to “100% renewable energy” — not to save the planet, mind you — but because it’s simply the most cost-effective thing to do. Here’s another green trend: the “passive house,” a concept that developed in Germany. Lower energy bills and even more benefits a can be yours, says this in-depth piece from the NYT.

But let’s focus on today. A Leo Moon favors creative self-expression and a sense of play — especially when it is void. Thus, I hope you will appreciate this NYT story about an artist who is enjoying success as a creator of coloring books — for grown-ups.

Leo also refers to cats of all colors, and this NYT op-ed sings their praises. Purrrrfect — like the day you’re about to experience — right?

To find out why you are the way you are — when and why things happen when they do — and how you can use awareness of planetary cycles to live your life better, consider scheduling a personal astro-logical consultation. Even if you don’t believe in astrology, rest assured that astrology believes in you.

Thank you for reading this forecast.

Astro-logical Forecast for Friday 1/31/2014 & the Weekend: Soul Food; Amanda Knox Update

Lots of planetary shifts today, as noted in Monday’s forecast. In addition to Venus turning direct and the “power and resources” opposition between expansive Jupiter and ruthless Pluto, mental Mercury sloooowly slips into dreamy Pisces until February 12th. Thoughts, travel and communication could be sublime or surreal over the next week, as nebulous Neptune is close enough to Mercury to cast its usual rose-colored, pixie-dust spell. Plus this New Moon was a Supermoon — a term coined by astrologer Richard Nolle decades ago. Nolle often notes the increased potential for weird, wild weather before and after a Supermoon. Certainly the folks down South — which was apparently paralyzed by a rare snowstorm this week — could appreciate that notation.

Get it off your desk by 11:45AM ET if you want to ship something of consequence. The Aquarius Moon makes two connections this morning: first to stern Saturn at 10:56AM ET, suggesting a reach for ambition or a cold shoulder. At 11:45AM ET the Moon goes void-of-course on an easy connection to action hero Mars, not to enter Pisces until 10:45PM ET. Gosh, wouldn’t it be nice if you could spend some time during this long natural rest period by honoring the New Moon suggestion to chill, go with the flow and turn in? If you must move forward, remember to be patient with any twists or delays that may hinder your efforts. How interesting that I just pulled a Tarot card — from the Osho Zen deck — and it was this: TURNING IN.

At 10:45PM ET, Moon enters dreamy Pisces. Less cerebral; more soulful is what Saturday suggests. Optimism, depth and social graces flow easily into the evening. Music, film, spirit, healing and other intangibles, anyone? More of the same on Sunday, except that the Moon goes void for another long spell starting at 11:34AM ET, so do your major shopping on Saturday. Moon enters Aries just before midnight — presumably well after the end of the Super Bowl, which will kick off some time Sunday after 6:30PM ET in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Sports matches during Moon voids often favor the underdog and other surprise upsets…

Meanwhile, our do-nothing Congress actually did something earlier this week when it finally passed a farm bill. How wonderfully in synch with the resources-themed opposition between Jupiter in (food, nourishment) Cancer and Pluto in (government) Capricorn. Much was noted in the headlines about one provision that will cut $8 billion in food stamps, though some also noted that it could have been worse. For example, it could have been a member of Congress, not a “child nutrition manager” who personally took away the lunches of 40 schoolchildren in Utah because they did not have money in their lunch accounts…and then threw the lunches in the trash. And before everyone screams, “well of course, because Utah,” let me share another Jupiter in home/emotional security-seeking Cancer story. Did you know that Utah is reportedly on track to end homelessness in the state by 2015? And they are doing it by giving the homeless homes…because it’s simply more cost-effective? Author Malcolm Gladwell wrote about this novel approach in Outliers here’s the excerpt.

In other news, Amanda Knox received the upsetting and presumably bewildering news that a court in Italy once again found her guilty of murder, even though another court had overturned the original conviction a few years earlier. So there must be planetary patterns in her horoscope that suggest potential bewilderment and/or upset, right? And that if it’s “bewilderment,” it’s probably Neptune…and if it’s an “upset,” it’s likely Uranus. And in fact there are current arcs and transits involving Neptune and Uranus to planets in her natal chart. This case is far from over, however, as there will be another appeal. Things could be “lucky” for Ms. Knox when Jupiter conjoins her Cancer Sun later this year. We’ll have to wait and see how her next appeal meshes with another potentially bewildering Neptune transit in 2015.

Have a good weekend!

Astro-logical Forecast for Wednesday 3/27/2013: Full Moon in Aries

Writing this shortly after the exact square between Mars and Pluto (11:44PM ET on Tuesday),  suggesting “news from underground”. Not surprisingly, an earthquake in Taiwan just made headlines. Not a monster one, mind you, but still…and here’s an article about earthquakes in The Netherlands, caused by the natural gas industry.

This volatile day kicks off with the Full Moon in Libra opposing the Aries Sun at 5:27AM ET, putting relationship issues in the spotlight. Fairness, equality, the letter of the law — all that jazz. A surprise jolt, revelation or other disruption of the status quo (especially demands for independence) is due around 8:05AM ET, as rebel Uranus opposes the balance-seeking Moon. But wait, there’s more: a jolly trine to Moon from Jupiter expands the fullness of emotions already heightened, and minutes later, that Moon is sorely challenged by combative contact from ruthless Pluto and aggressive Mars at 1:27PM ET and 2:17PM ET, respectively. Curb your temper and duck if someone wants to pick a fight; passions are running high, especially for those with planets between 8 and 11 degrees of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn.  Otherwise, you can make your case with great conviction, especially if you do so before the Moon goes void at 2:14PM ET.

In the void, debate over what’s fair and just may well continue. As reported earlier, Moon will be void until 8:54PM ET on THURSDAY. Chill and roll with whatever twists crop up. Learn to be patient. There’s still a lot going on that is building to a release tomorow — and we’re already seeing events in the headlines today. For example, on Thursday, Venus (art, women, finance) in pioneering Aries, meets up with the Aries Sun and ground-breaking Uranus, suggesting self-absorbed idealism and also unconventional attractions, relationships and shake-ups in the financial and aesthetic sectors. Tuesday’s headlines included a woman being nominated to head the Secret Service (a first); an outrageous fine art purchase by a hedge fund manager whose company was recently fined over $600 million, apparently without impacting said manager’s standard of living; and Panera announcing a “pay what you want” pricing system in some of its stores.  Innovative! Another startling headline: “BRICS Nations Plan New Bank to Bypass IMF, World Bank” is sure to shake up the status quo (with thanks to the avid reader who sent that in).

But wait, there’s more! In addition to the gripping arguments presented to the SCOTUS yesterday and today (highlights and audio are here — and they really are gripping), a court in Italy overturned the acquittal of Amanda Knox, and ordered a new trial. Shocking! When Knox’s horoscope was discussed in this forecast a couple of years ago, I did note that right about now, rebel Uranus, ruler of her 10th house (career/public status) would square her Mercury (communication, mindset), which rules her Gemini Ascendant and her 5th house of creative self-expression. Seemed like a perfect time for Ms. Knox to publish a book (due out on April 30th). But as we saw in Matt Lauer’s horoscope last week, Uranus transits can be unpredictable and stunning. They disrupt the status quo! Looking at her horoscope again, it is also clear that stern Saturn (ruling Knox’s 9th house — the law) is also challenging the area of her horoscope related to public status, as well as ruthless Pluto. Saturn-Pluto transits are usually difficult, and this one is in effect for Ms. Knox until fall.

Regarding the Defense of Marriage Act, which is the headline event at the Supreme Court today. President Bill Clinton signed this bill into law (read about that here) at 12:50AM on September 21, 1996 in Washington, DC. The chart for DOMA is amazing because it is so clear that it would be prominently in the public eye at this time, and so ready for change! No time to get into the details, at 648 words and counting — but if you’re a student of astrology, take a look at it.
