Astro-logical Forecast for Friday 2/5/2016 & the Weekend: Venus and Mars in the Hot Seat

What a weekend we have in store, especially if your horoscope is personally impacted by the potent  patterns as of Friday through Sunday.  The Moon is still in Capricorn, where it has been on an enterprising mission as of 7:44PM ET Thursday night. As noted in an earlier forecast:

See if you notice an intensification of emotion as Venus (women, money, aesthetics, social expression) meets up with Pluto on Friday at 8:12PM ET. Markets may be volatile. Women may take no prisoners. Venus-Pluto aspects can cut to the quick and/or the chase in relationships, and the scenario this weekend suggests the latter.

Cuts in the news include Twitter cutting 125, 000 accounts belonging to “extremists”…and France cutting the “i” out of “oignon,” along with streamlining the spelling of 200 other words. Sacre bleu!

Night owls may be feeling supercharged during the wee hours on Saturday, as the Moon makes its weekly clash with Pluto and Uranus at 1:01AM ET and 2:52AM ET.  It also makes contact with the personal planets: Mercury, Venus and Mars — all before 10:39AM ET, before going void at 10:54AM ET until 12:59AM ET on SUNDAY.  On Saturday, be advised that:

Venus is super-charged by unconventional Uranus on Saturday at 5:03PM ET, blasting through social norms and challenging you to consider an attraction outside your usual box — or set yourself free from an attraction that binds you.  Or at least clear the air. The Sun will be in harmony with Uranus, and mental Mercury is likely to reflect plenty of big communication drives as it aligns with Jupiter.

With the Moon void on Saturday, we have an argument for experimentation (without consequences for actions taken), or an argument that blows up into more of a crisis than it really is.

On Sunday, the Moon will be in humanitarian Aquarius, looking to hang with all its friends at the nearest Super Bowl fiesta.  The game kicks off around 3:35PM in San Francisco in the aftermath of a dynamic challenge between Sun and Mars at 7:08AM ET, followed by a communicative alignment between the genders (Mars and Venus), no matter what gender you and your significant other may be. What will you have learned about the State of Your Union by Monday, is what I’m wondering. These patterns are suitable for a physical workout, for better or for worse. This includes any large release of energy — watch the headlines for items such as significant quakes, structural collapses.…and with Mars in the mix — war, guns, etc.,  such as “North Korea may be ready to launch a rocket by Super Bowl Sunday”. Really — not Sunday, Super Bowl Sunday.

Meanwhile, I’m putting my fifty cents on the Panthers.

You are more personally impacted by the weekend’s potent patterns if you have a planet or angle around 16-18 degrees of Aries, Libra, Cancer and especially Capricorn…and if you have planets or angles around 16-19 degrees of Leo, Taurus, Aquarius and especially Scorpio.

We’ll have a New Moon on Monday at 9:39AM ET in Aquarius, after a provocative challenge between the Moon and Mars at 8:37AM ET. Make-up sex after a volatile weekend…or someone may be waking up in foul mood.  The Moon will be void right after the New Moon until 3:31AM ET on TUESDAY…sounds like a day to chill, focus on routine, meditate on your list of New Moon intentions.

I leave you now with a Moon void twist that happened on Thursday —  to a custodian at a restaurant in San Diego. He arrived at work to discover an 8-month old sea lion curled up in a booth. Of course it made headlines…

Astro-logical Forecast for Tuesday 6/9/2015: Cosmic

Get it off your desk by 2:08PM ET if you can. That’s when the Pisces “go with the flow” Moon goes void, encouraging even more going with said flow, twists and wandering detours included.

The middle of the day is energized by the tension of the 3rd Quarter Moon, as the intuitive Pisces Moon is squared by the information-driven Gemini Sun at  11:42AM ET. It’s soon followed by another square to the Moon from Mars, the action planet. Depending upon how the energy is used, you may experience a push forward or a confrontational outburst, during which someone’s feelings may be bruised.

There’s also an idealistic component to thoughts and communications on this day and into tomorrow, courtesy of an idealistic connection between mental Mercury (still retrograde) and Venus (social expression, money, values, women) in drama queen Leo. That pattern is exact tomorrow at 8:52AM ET, as is a tech-friendly connection between the Sun and pioneering Uranus at 5:30PM ET. Innovation and magical thinking…

Chill and focus on routine concerns during the Moon void, which ends at 7:14AM ET on Wednesday.

And now, the news.

The horoscope of the United States is currently experiencing a hardcore transit from Pluto to its natal Saturn (authority) in Libra (the law). Pluto-Saturn transits are nearly always brutal. On the plus side, they can be life-transforming, provided one faces the hard facts and does the work required.

Factor in the illuminating/shocking influence of Uranus into this pattern, and we can appreciate why so many upsetting stories of police brutality are making headlines…and changes are being made. Earlier this month The Guardian began telling the stories of all of the people killed by police in the U.S. this year — 59 in the first 24 days of 2015 compared to 55 in the past 24 years in England and Wales. Here’s a profile of Tanisha Anderson, who was killed by police in Cleveland last November.   The Washington Post has been tallying, too — also with certain legislative results. Today the headlines are focused on yet another video of physical force displayed by an officer at a pool party in Texas.

One of the predictions astrologers made regarding the never-ending Uranus-Pluto square was that we’d see dramatic restructuring in the the banking industry. Today HSBC announced it would be eliminating 50,000 jobs. Companies in other industries better-known for low wages and no benefits are also restructuring, but they are increasing wages and adding benefits, arguably in response to the “sudden” awareness of income inequality, also reflected in the wake-up call potential of the Uranus-Pluto square.

Current planetary patterns suggest tech-friendly stories of expansion and innovation, including the cosmos. How cool to see this story of a ginormous telescope designed to capture images of a black hole at the center of our galaxy.

If he and his colleagues succeed, the images they capture will be in textbooks forever, as definitive evidence of Einstein’s weirdest prediction: that space-time could curl up like a magician’s cloak around massive objects and vanish them from the universe. In short, that black holes — objects so dense that not even light can escape their maws — are real. That space and time as we know them can come to an end right under our noses.

Well, time is an illusion, after all. It’s just a construct we use in order to play the virtual reality game called Life on Planet Earth. Or so I’ve believed ever since I read books whose titles I can’t remember in which it was argued that everything is happening all at once, and the only real moment we have is now.

In astrology, time is symbolized by Saturn, the most distant planet we can see with the naked eye. Time is the ultimate limiting factor in our lifespan. Apparently.

Oh, how a Pisces Moon does encourage the philosophical! Perhaps that will inspire your Moon void wandering later this afternoon…..

Astro-logical Forecast for Friday 6/6/2014 and the Weekend: Mercury Turns Retrograde

Genius at work. The perfection-seeking Moon goes void at 5:13AM ET until 10:13PM ET. So be aware of the POTENTIAL for twists and or odd delays in your efforts to move forward. This will help you chill out, should your day feel like you’re herding cats. Otherwise keep calm and carry on, and pay attention to particularly inventive thoughts — your own or from others, as technogeek breakthrough could be yours — or in the news. Like this item about a medical first: a DNA test is used to diagnose an illness. At 10:01PM ET on Friday, Moon engages in people-pleasing Libra, where it will be for the rest of the weekend. Go forth, be social, fair and balanced. Would it surprise you to know that Fox News was launched when the Sun was it Libra (its slogan is “fair and balanced”). CNBC’s slogan is “FIRST in business worldwide” — and CNBC was launched in pioneering Aries. Isn’t that interesting?

Anyhoo…

Saturday’s big news is Mercury turning retrograde — and this was covered in Monday’s forecast. Between 7:31PM and 4:13AM ET on Sunday, the peace-seeking Libra Moon may be rattled by its weekly contact with Mars, Pluto and Uranus, suggesting the potential for power plays, emotional catharses and sudden disruptions of the status quo. These contacts are fleeting, mind you — but if you work in an ER, it could make for a busy evening.

Sunday’s aspects are more harmonious — and they build to a buoyant connection between jolly Jupiter and the Moon at 3:47PM ET…at which point the Moon goes void again until Monday at 6:38AM ET. So get your Sunday shopping done early…so you can focus on a harmonious connection between Venus (love, money, women, beauty, social expression) and depth-seeking, regenerative Pluto. Meaningful emotional connections that heal and strengthen bonds can be yours if you’re tuned in…

Mercury retrogrades are excellent for RE-viewing your life with an astrologer.  Contact me to schedule a personal consultation by phone or in-person. It’s a wonderful way to understand why you are the way you are…

Astro-logical Forecast for Tuesday 1/22/2013: Reach For The Stars

Big ideas and innovation — especially in technology and aero/outerspace. That’s what I’m thinking we’ll be seeing this week, thanks to a remarkably supportive alignment among the Sun (life force) and Mercury (communication, mindset) in humanitarian/technogeek Aquarius, expansive Jupiter in info-junkie Gemini and rebel Uranus in pioneering Aries. Jupiter-Uranus patterns are often experienced as lucky breaks or investment opportunities that turn out to be windfalls. They also suggest news from the cosmos, including astrology.

You are personally affected by this “breakthrough” pattern if you were born around the 26th of any month, of if you have a planet or an angle around 6 degrees of any sign, with a slight bonus to Aries, Leo, Sagittarius, Gemini, Libra and Aquarius.  The potential down side — and there is always that potential — might be grandiose or bombastic behavior, or wretched excess. Alternately, you could be feeling so good that you can’t be bothered to create new opportunities even though the wind may be at your back. Don’t let this happen to you!

Today’s Moon is in chatty Gemini, where it has been buzzing around since 9:04AM ET on Monday, just before President Obama was sworn in (again) at his second public presidential inauguration. He had to be feeling pretty good, as his Moon is also in Gemini, and transiting Jupiter (the cosmic sugar daddy), is closely aligned with that Moon…for now. Another sign of popularity and personal happiness is Obama’s progressed Sun currently conjunct his natal Venus, where it has been hovering for several months.  This was one of the patterns that led to my post in September opining that Obama would be elected to a second term, along with other astro-logical observations about Obama’s horoscope, which you can read here.

Make the most of this week — especially today.  We’ve got a Moon waxing in light — good for initiating projects. We have planetary patterns remarkably receptive to your big ideas for reinventing the wheel. Are there caveats? Sure. Get it off your desk today if you can — or wait until Thursday. Moon will be void-of-course from 6:42AM ET to 10PM ET on Wednesday — and again on Friday from 3:35PM ET until 9:20AM ET on Saturday. Also note that Thursday may have a little turbulence, notably from hard aspects to the Moon and from aggressive energy running a bit wild on behalf of some rebel cause.
