Tuesday 2/21/2017: Sneak Peak at the Week; Mars and Mercury on the March

Onward!

It’s a short week, but there is much to be said and done, with strong potential for surprises in store. Mars — planet of  action, anger and courage — continues to be in the hot heat, making supercharged connections to Pluto (on Wednesday at 3:59 AM ET) and Uranus (on Sunday at 7:17 PM ET). Mars challenged by Pluto suggests explosive power plays and extraordinary effort. Mars in tandem with Uranus suggests innovative action and upsets to the status quo in matters of technology, space, aviation, brain surgery, steel, war, revolution.

Yes, we’ve experienced this pattern before. The last time Mars engaged with these two heavyweights was in October, and here’s what was written on October 4th:

If a surprise were going to show up in October (as opposed to the power play Friday’s Sun-Pluto challenge may bring), I’d look to the days leading up to the Full Moon on the 16th, when rebel Uranus will oppose the Sun and conjoin the me-me-me Aries Moon. Mars (action) and Mercury (communication) are in a combative connection on the 13th. On the 19th, Mars (assertion and action) meets up with Pluto in Capricorn, sign of the Powers That Be. Hours later, Mercury (ideas, communication) is disrupted by a hard connection to Uranus, suggesting innovation, shock or some other lightning bolt from the blue. In the U.S., the third and final debate between Hillary Clinton and her opponent happens on the 19th. Yowza. The days leading up to the 29th may also be provocative, as Mars is challenged by Uranus.

Remember what happened on October 29th?

So we are likely to see a “next level” of action on events that happened in October.  And here are a few headlines from the last time Mars was engaged with Uranus and Pluto while also being in Aries — March of 2015.

An additional level of expansion is also in effect, courtesy of a face-off between Mars and jolly Jupiter, exact on the 27th. All told, these patterns suggest market volatility, likely to the upside.

The other planet in the hot seat this week is Mercury — how we need to think, travel, communicate and go about our business. Fun stuff: mercantile, mercenary, merchandise…Mercury…see the connection? Now you understand why, when Mercury is retrograde, astrologers advise caution when negotiating deals and signing contracts. In any case, our minds and all the things Mercury refers to are likely to be abuzz, continuing from last Thursday’s harmony with Mars (walking and talking — remember?).

Last night at 11:01 PM ET, Mercury was in harmony with rebel/techgeek Uranus; today at 1:27 PM ET it is in an expansive harmony with Jupiter. Big ideas, lawsuits, issues of fairness and justice — and of course, media, education and other collective belief systems.  On Thursday, Mercury is in harmony with Saturn , suggesting an easy gravitas in matters of opinion, foreigners and other Sagittarius-ruled concerns.

Wednesday is the most charged day this week. Mars will square Pluto on a day driven by the Moon in proactive, corporate, patriarchal Capricorn — supercharged by Pluto, Mars, Uranus and Jupiter between 2:34 PM ET and 10:24 PM ET. If you are not harnessing this power drive for your own quest for world domination, be mindful of those around you who are. Choose your battles wisely. Rash and reckless behavior is likely to be evident (like we haven’t had enough, with Mars in Aries since the end of January). Take it out at the gym, not at some guy named Jim, mmkay?

If you have a planet or angle around 18-20 degrees of Aries, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn, you know where to find me. Let’s talk about how to manage this rare and life-changing push for an empowered perspective and release of what no longer serves. This will be going on for you personally until early 2018.

Mercury leaves wonky Aquarius for dreamy Pisces on Saturday at 6:08 PM ET — for a stay until March 12th.  There’s a New Moon and eclipse on Sunday — also in Pisces — at 9:58 AM ET. More on that later this week.

Your Moon voids this week — natural breaks where it may be helpful to focus on routine concerns and roll with the twists and flakes that may derail your efforts to move forward in a straight line — are as follows: Wednesday 10:24 PM ET – Thursday 12:17 PM ET; Saturday 1:11 PM  ET — 7:24 PM ET. Onward, onward, onward!

And now, the news.

The UAE gets a special shout-out for two spectacular items reflecting the pioneering thrust of Mars in Aries, supported by Mercury in tech-savvy Aquarius. Dubai plans to launch of driverless flying cars this summer.  And adding to its announced mission to Mars back in 2015, the UAE now plans to have a city on the Red Planet — built by 2117 with international cooperation, according to a tweet from Sheikh Mohammed, the prime minister of the UAE and emir of Dubai. This futuristic goal is totally in line with planetary patterns at the time of the Sheikh’s birth; his 22 Cancer Sun has just experienced the third hit from space cadet Uranus. Astrology is amazing.

In the U.S., our best idea to take flight last week was the return of free meals to Delta’s economy class. But hey — still in tune with planetary patterns!

Bill Gates made news when he suggested that robots who take jobs once done by humans should be taxed. Robots and their impact on the economy was the subject of yesterday’s NYT editorial.

Also reflecting current patterns: a domestic terror plot was foiled when a Florida man who planned to plant bombs in Target stores  — in order to make a killing in the stock market —  was arrested. In South Carolina, a white supremacist was also foiled in his efforts to plan an attack  —  “in the spirit of Dylann Roof.”  Just letting you know in case you’ve only been hearing about the horrible thing that happened in Sweden according to something P45 saw on the TeeVee.  No mention of the fine intelligence work done by law enforcement in foiling those two very real planned domestic attacks on P45’s twitfeed, so here’s a bit of gratitude: thank you, law enforcement! Meanwhile, absolutely nothing happened in Sweden on Friday, except maybe stuff like this. Clear?

This just in…”Long-winded Speech Could Be an Early Sign of Alzheimer’s”  Combine the Mars and Mercury action with Neptune (befuddlement, fantasy, lies), which is still running wild. Neptune refers to toxins, too… in a month dominated by Air and Fire signs (with the except of Neptune in Pisces, a Water Sign — and Pluto in earthy Capricorn), it’s intriguing to see a series of articles in the Guardian on…air pollution.

Oh, and speaking of hot air — we’re on track to having another record-setting February. Not that the recently-confirmed head of the EPA — Scott Pruitt — is likely to do anything to slow that runaway train. It should be an interesting week for Mr. Pruitt, whose confirmation was rushed through the Senate last week by elected representatives with Other Priorities, despite a judge ordering the release of thousands of emails between Mr. Pruitt and people working in the oil and gas industries. Those emails were supposed to be released today — after his confirmation — which is exactly what those elected representatives with Other Priorities intended to happen (I take some comfort in the fact that patterns present at Mr. Pruitt’s birth suggest he is about to enter a two-year phase of intense and potentially anguished effort).

Meanwhile, I hope the mainstream media keeps a strong spotlight on those elected representatives, because for all the coverage the Tweeter-in-Chief is getting for doing what he does naturally, he is only able to do this because those elected representatives are allowing it. When we compare the chart for the start of the 115th Congress vs. the inauguration of P45, the former is stronger, if you ask me. What’s in it for them?

Ooh! Here’s a fun item that just posted — reflecting planetary patterns focusing on the brain, speech and bewilderment: “When Mismatched Voices and Lips Make Your Brain Play Tricks.”  This item is not fun at all: David Cassidy announced that he has dementia, which apparently runs in his family. This sad news is in sync with transiting Uranus, ruler of his 9th House (mass communication) meeting up with his 22 Aries Sun, ruler of his 3rd House (how he needs to think and speak). Uranus making a challenging aspect to a planet suggests potential upsets. His current concert tour may be his last. Here is his horoscope.

When the TV show “The Partridge Family” premiered in September of 1970, we could see how Mr. Cassidy could become such a heartthrob, given once-in-a-lifetime transits and solar arcs from expansive/lucky Jupiter, Moon and Venus in 1970 and 1971. Are you old enough to remember having a massive crush on him after hearing this song? And if you happened to take time to watch that clip from the show, did you cringe at the laugh track added in response to the “joke” about women playing professional hockey? That was then…before 1972’s Title IX…enacted in the aftermath of the revolutionary Uranus-Pluto conjunction of 1965-66. How far have we come since then?

Thank you for reading this forecast. To find out if you’re likely to become a national heartthrob in your lifetime, book a personal consultation. We will have an excellent discussion together.
