Astro-logical Forecast for Monday 10/15/2012: New Moon in Libra

Happy Monday…happy New Moon…happy start of the work week…sort of. The New Moon happens in Libra at 8:03AM ET and immediately goes void-of-course until 8:06PM ET, suggesting your New Moon intentions may wander aimlessly until more light is literally shed on the matter in a day or two. Libra is the sign of relationship, and wherever it falls in your horoscope is area of your life where relationships and partnerships may be of significance in this lunar cycle. It suggests an opportunity for new relationships and partnerships in that area of your life, too. Get out and mingle over the next few weeks!

Whatever you’ve got on your plate this month, I’ll wager it is served with an idealistic spin and perhaps an inclination to indulgent excess. Why? Because of two aspects exact on Tuesday, both of which involve Venus (social expression, money, women, art). One is a communicative connection with mental Mercury, suggesting an easy flow of ideas, presented in the best possible light. The other is challenge from expansive Jupiter, which could be experienced as information overload, acid indigestion (as in, “I can’t believe I ate the whole thing”) or reports of wretched excess enjoyed with abandon — and perhaps now regretted. Interesting to read what appears to be regret in Dominique Strauss-Kahn’s latest libertine confession, which sounds very much like the last libertine confession, except now Jupiter (expansion, excess) is retrograde, which suggests a review of past excess/expansion/idealism might be in order. Amazing. (Regular readers of the forecast know we’ve been tracking DSK for over a year, as an excellent example of how the potent Uranus-Pluto square can be reflected in an individual horoscope).

The Sabian Symbol for the New Moon at 22 Libra is “a chanticleer” and it is one we saw earlier this year — when Saturn turned direct at 22 Libra on June 25th. Here’s what was written about this Sabian Symbol then:

“…Chanticleer”, which I have just learned is the proper name of a rooster from medieval time who appeared in the tales of Reynard the Fox. “Chanticleer” loosely translates as “sing clearly” or “sing loudly”, presumably while strutting with pride, as a rooster is wont to do. Chanticleer announces the dawn of a new day, in a fashion that is impossible to ignore. Of course another word for rooster is “cock”. Which makes me think of many cocks crowing with pride…or announcements and initiatives that may strike us as cocksure or just plain cocky.

Dawn of a new day, eh? And the symbol for the New Moon is referring back to Saturn, hmm? Let’s look at that further. This is the first New Moon in 30 years with Saturn in Scorpio. This is a very heavy placement for the planet that refers to ambition, controls and time. Gone are the rational theories of fairness and balance of Saturn in Libra. Saturn in Scorpio demands actual substance, as in “put your money where your mouth is” and “that balance (Libra) is due now (Scorpio).” I am fascinated to note that the chart for the New Moon in Washington DC shows Saturn exactly on the Ascendant. Heavy! And yet that is exactly what is up for Washington during this lunar cycle, as the Day of Reckoning a.k.a. Election Day finally happens on November 6th.

There is tremendous potential for creativity and dream manifestation in this lunar cycle. And there is tremendous potential for the real to become unreal, suggested by Saturn still in contact with nebulous Neptune (discussed last week). Yes, Saturn can give substance to a dream. And yet, Neptune tends to dissolve substance. How to move forward in times ripe with potential for idealism and excess (noted at the top of the forecast)? The chart for this New Moon suggests a need for discrimination and discernment. Be careful and precise about what you wish for, especially in social interactions and relationships. Push for details in a grand plan. Be advised that Mercury turns retrograde on November 6th, adding its usual potential for confusion and snafus in thinking and communication processes. So if you can hash out details and come to consensus before the Full Moon in a couple of weeks, then do it.

Moon voids for the week: Monday 8:03AM-8:06PM ET; Tuesday 10:23PM ET- Wednesday 8:26PM ET; Friday 10/19 4:27PM ET- 9:41PM ET. Plan accordingly.

And now, the news. On Friday I suggested watching the headlines for “nifty technological breakthroughs” (courtesy of Mars in adventurous Sagittarius trine technogeek Uranus in pioneering Aries). Boy, oh boy did we have a nifty one on Sunday. Who watched Austrian “professional daredevil” Felix Baumgartner fly 24 miles or so to the edge of space and then jump out of plane, thus becoming the first sky diver to break the sound barrier (but not a single bone!)? The chart for the scheduled — scheduled jump, mind you — at 12:07PM 10/15/2012 in Roswell, NM is a spectacular reflection of the revolutionary potential of the Uranus-Pluto square. Why? Because, as with the Mars Curiosity landing covered in this forecast in August, the chart shows rebel Uranus on an angle of the chart, with breaking-down-barriers Pluto also engaged. Coincidence or conspiracy?

Let the record show that rebel Uranus is extremely prominent in Baumgartner’s horoscope (April 20/1969 in Salzburg, Austria — time unknown). Why? Because it is at the Aries Point. Regular readers will recall that a planet at the Aries Point (around the first degree of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn) needs to gain prominence. In Baumgarter’s case, it is absolutely clear that he needs to be known for taking big risks. Fortunately, in his horoscope, Uranus is aligned with Jupiter, And that is often very, very lucky.

Another technological breakthrough not nearly as sexy as Baumgartner’s, but perhaps ultimately with way more amazing consequences is the work of this year’s Nobel prizewinners in Physics in a field called quantum information. I loved every word of this mind-blowing article, especially since it introduced me to the equally mind-blowing paradox of Schrodinger’s cat. Really, you are going to need this full day of Moon void-ness to let your mind contemplate that one. This led me to another thought-provoking article about how two sane people can have complete different understandings of reality. I will probably get in trouble for mentioning it, meaning that I may alienate a few of my cherished readers, which will make me very sad. But this man’s personal journey is very much in line with current planetary patterns of what is real and what is not, suggested by Saturn and Neptune…not to mention the upheaval of the status quo suggested by the Uranus-Pluto square. Which all ties in perfectly with the breakthroughs in how we perceive reality, as described in the article about the work of the Nobel physicists.

Astro-logical Forecast for Friday 10/12/2012 & The Weekend: That’s A Wrap

We are in the balsamic phase — the dark side — of the lunar cycle, during which it is appropriate to be wrapping up loose ends remaining from whatever intentions you set at the New Moon, which was on September 15th. The next lunar cycle begins — in Libra — on Monday, October 15th at 8:03AM ET. It is not uncommon for listlessness or restlessness to be an issue during the balsamic phase, as we sense that something new is coming, but we are not quite sure what.

Still, there is a lot to like about planetary patterns today. Moon is in Virgo, seeking to make everything all neat and organized, as it sifts and sorts through information presented, tossing out the chaff and keeping the wheat. These efforts are well-supported by a perspicacious connection to the Moon from regenerative Pluto (while you were sleeping at 3:56AM ET), and “feel-good” aspects from mental Mercury and loving Venus (exact between 9 and 11AM ET). An expansive, indulgent challenge from Jupiter at 7:48PM ET sets the tone for the evening and a major Moon void chill period from that time until 7:02PM ET Saturday, when the Moon enters relationship-oriented Libra. No impulse purchases at yard sales tomorrow, if you please; otherwise, go where the day takes you…

Sunday may begin with a jolt, a twist or revelation, courtesy of an early morning clash between rebel Uranus and ruthless Pluto between 5-7AM ET. Then it is relatively smooth sailing until Monday’s New Moon, which at first glance looks lush and hopeful, with some nifty technological breakthroughs suggested, too (watch the headlines for those over the weekend). Details on the New Moon will be posted on Monday.

Meanwhile, a prominent Mars in fiery, opinionated Sagittarius during last night’s VP debate is definitely reflected in today’s headlines: “Biden, Ryan Clash in Fiery VP Debate” blares AOL. “In Biden-Ryan Quarrel, Sharp Contrasts” reports the New York Times, adding editorially “A Debate with Clarity and Fervor” Clarity? Hmmm…with Neptune also prominent, the word “clarity” is a bit surprising. What does Fox News say? “Proxy Fight: Biden-Ryan Toe-to-Toe, It’s Clear They Don’t See Eye-to-Eye”. “Clear”. Wow. Anything else? How about this: “Biden’s Mom & Dad Taught Him Many Things, But Not Manners” — and here, there appears to be a lack of consensus. What did you see?

Meanwhile, debate moderator Martha Raddatz won praise for her forceful handling of last’s night joust. Born Feb 14, 1953, she is an Aquarius with Moon most likely in Pisces. Interesting to note her Mars (the energy to take action) in pioneering Aries, currently empowered by the Uranus-Pluto square. Not surprising at all that she would rise to any occasion requiring great force, persuasion or application of will.

Astro-logical Forecast for Thursday 10/11/2012: It’s Debatable Again…

If you did not receive the usual forecast yesterday, please check your spam folder. That’s where my copy ended up, and I have a feeling I’m not the only one who had that experience. Let’s hope there are no glitches in today’s delivery…

Not much to report until 3:23PM ET, when the Moon enters discriminating, detail-oriented Virgo. Until then, go with the flow, regardless of how deviated your efforts may be to move in a straight line. I say this because the Moon went void-of-course as of 5:40PM ET on Wednesday. See the link in yesterday’s forecast — the one posted on the website — for more on voids, assuming you do not know what they are and how to best handle them.

About an hour after Moon enters Virgo, it opposes nebulous Neptune, which is frankly more of a challenge than the support the Moon receives ten minutes later from structured Saturn. How dreamy/spacey might you be feeling, in spite of the Virgo Moon’s need to make order out of chaos? That energy carries us through the rest of the afternoon, and as we move into suppertime, ornery Mars in opinionated Sagittarius clashes with the nitpicky, perfection-seeking Moon (exact at 9:36PM ET). If someone doesn’t get just a tad combative over details in the opening 30 minutes of the Vice-Presidential debate, I will be disappointed. And yet…disappointed I may be, because even though aggressive Mars is ready to rumble (and making serious connections in the horoscopes of both contenders), nebulous Neptune is just as active as it was in the horoscopes of the Obama-Romney contest last week. This suggests a rose-colored fog permeating the airwaves…but let’s take a closer look.

Joe Biden (Nov 20 1942 — around 8:30AM in Scranton, PA)) is a Scorpio with Moon in Taurus, suggesting a need to preserve material security and keep things as they are or as they should be. He has Sagittarius on the Ascendant — probably 3 or 4 degrees into the sign. Sag is an outspoken, rather randy, often disheveled/undisciplined force of nature that values high ideals and blunt candor. That is why Sag is so often associated with foot-in-mouth disease. Right now Mars is at 3 Sagittarius, exactly on Biden’s Ascendant and opposing his Uranus at 2 Gemini. This is a potential for fireworks, unless the reigning need of Biden’s Taurus Moon and the energy of his Sun in controlling Scorpio can keep things steady and calm.

As with the horoscopes of Obama and Romney, nebulous Neptune exerts a powerful influence on Biden and Ryan, too. So much that I am beginning to suspect some kind of conspiracy, and would feel so much better about it if other, less Neptune-influenced candidates could participate in this political process. Candidates like Dr. Jill Stein, Rocky Anderson — heck, I would be happy to include Roseanne Barr, too — she’s running on the Peace and Freedom ticket — with Cindy “Speaking Power to the Liars” Sheehan, no less. Did I leave anyone out?

But I digress.

Paul Ryan, whose horoscope was covered in detail in an earlier forecast also has an early Sagittarius Ascendent, at zero degrees, in fact. He was born with Neptune exactly conjunct the Ascendant, shrouding him in a rose-colored fog or vision, depending on whether you like what he has to say (with Moon running wild in people-pleasing Libra, he has more than enough charm to convince you that you should). Neptune — now at 0 Pisces, is exactly squaring the Ascendant — that point of personal projection — kicking up those clouds of pixie dust even more. But hey — in Biden’s horoscope, Neptune is involved, too — making a sextile to the Ascendant! While arguably this is a much less problematic aspect than Ryan’s conjunction (in terms of living in a real world, not an imaginary one), Biden still must deal with the challenge of Neptune transiting by square. Will he — or his opponent — be able to make a case that is clear and distinct? I am not convinced. It is more likely that people will hear whatever fits the reality they think they would like to live in. Sigh.

Back to Mars, which is the symbol for action, often of an aggressive nature. We talked about Mars and the potential for Biden to be provoked. Same goes for Ryan. Mars is right on Ryan’s Ascendant, too, with the same potential for provocation. There is even a connection between transiting Mars and Ryan’s natal Uranus — similar to Biden. Fascinating. Looking at the chart for the event itself — 10/11/2012 at 9PM in Danville, KY, nebulous Neptune is squaring the Ascendant — and Mars is also at an angle. This mirrors what is going on in the horoscopes of Biden and Ryan! Regardless of this astonishing synchronicity, I am not convinced that the outcome will rock the polls one way or the other, while there will be plenty of arguments about what was actually said. Fact checkers, take your places!

Astro-logical Forecast for Wednesday 10/10/2012: Lines Blurred; Edges Softened

Another day of potentially deep thoughts and revelations, possibly involving material facts about a spiritual world. Or a chance to make a dream a reality, no matter how unreal the dream may be.

Today’s two big planetary patterns involve — first — a communicative aspect between mental Mercury in dirt-digging, cut-to-the-chase Scorpio and ruthless Pluto in Capricorn. That can be intense, and it can also be quite candid in all areas involving your interactions with others today. If you are doing research, more power to you.

The second patterns involves Saturn in Scorpio (law, authority, structure) in a most excellent alignment with nebulous Neptune (faith, illusion, dreams) in Pisces, the sign Neptune rules. This aspect will occur again on June 11 and July 19, 2013. So whatever seeds you’re planting now to make a dream reality may be flowering in early summer. You are especially affected by this pattern if you were born during the first few days of Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces.

In the headlines, I am fascinated to note this startling study that appears to conclude that more and more Americans are abandoning their faith (Neptune) — or at least the structures (Saturn) where they might practice it. Healing is another Neptune keyword, and also on the front page we see this item: “New Style of Health Care Emerges to Fill Hospital’s Void”. Look for more key developments on these themes in June and July of next year.

Neptune softens the hard edge of Saturn’s usual need for stern discipline and no exceptions to the letter of the law. Look for empathy and compassion to be more prominent in the headlines — and perhaps noticeably so in persons striving to win our collective vote of confidence in a just a few weeks…

Astro-logical Forecast for Tuesday 10/9/2012: Sunny Day

…and we’re back, after a lovely Columbus Day weekend escape to points south. Judging from the chilly grey day that greeted me upon my return to New York (and continues to linger outside my window), I’d say summer is officially over. Today’s planetary patterns, however, hold plenty of potential for warmth and sun.

Moon roared into Leo at 7:55AM ET, buoyed by an optimistic connection between the Sun in lovely Libra and expansive Jupiter at 1:52AM ET.Add to this a perspicacious and potent connection between transformational Pluto and loving Venus at 4:03AM ET, and the stage is set for a bold and dramatic statement of feeling or element of play that may bring heretofore hidden agenda to light. Or at least encourage you to step out of the shadows and shine. True, there may be a hitch, an ambitious reach or a sobering factor to contend with around 8:45AM ET, but planetary patterns for the rest of the day suggest an easy flow between the need to shine and actions required to do so, with an innovative and/or humanitarian flair. If there are clashes of opinion or mindset, those are more likely toward the end of day, as suggested by a challenge between the regal Leo Moon and mental Mercury in controlling, “prove it to me” Scorpio.

Keep chugging along, wrapping up your agenda from the New Moon on September 15th, and note the natural rest periods suggested by these Moon voids: Wednesday 5:40PM ET – Thursday 3:23PM ET; Friday 7:48PM ET – Saturday 7:02PM ET.

In other news, two planetary patterns occurred over the weekend worth noting. First, Mars, which refers to the kind of energy that needs to be applied when taking action, entered the high-flying, philosopher-clown sign of Sagittarius at 11:21PM ET Saturday.What does that mean? Simply put: this is the most opinionated placement for Mars, and we can expect plenty of blunt words expressed over the next few weeks, which is a strong caveat to those prone to foot-in-mouth syndrome.

Speaking of Mars, how about that weird, wild, magical, mystical challenge from nebulous Neptune, which was exact at 10:12PM ET on Sunday? When Mars and Neptune collide (symbolically), we can expect big doses of charisma, pixie dust, show-stopping glamor, religious and spiritual highs, or outright lies, delusions and deranged fanaticism. We can expect reality to become a highly subjective state of being, exemplified by the “deranged” response to the better-than-expected numbers in last Friday’s jobs report, alleging a conspiracy. What’s the real story behind these numbers? I confess I appreciated this analysis posted on CNBC’s website, minus the cynicism. With Uranus (freedom) in Aries (pioneering individual) from 2011 – 2018, the trend is self-reliance, as governments, corporations and other institutions (Capricorn) break down and transform (Pluto). You do remember that Pluto is in Capricorn (since Fall of 2008), yes? This is a great time to be an entrepreneur…

Astro-logical Forecast for Friday & the Long Weekend 10/5-8/2012: A Hint of Saturn in Scorpio

I’m on the road again, so this forecast will not be as detailed as planned. Briefly — to get your day started:

The Gemini Moon continues to flood the airwaves with information to be debated and processed, with an added demand for depth and substance, suggested by mental Mercury’s ingress into Scorpio at 6:35AM ET. This intensifies the tone of thought and communication.Whereas Libra (where Mercury has been) is gracious, rational, conflict-avoiding; Scorpio is ruthless, emotional and not afraid to cut to the chase no matter whose feelings may be hurt. See if you notice that shift as we experience the next few weeks.

Take note of your thoughts and brainstorms today, especially if you are structuring a deep vision. Not only is Mercury up for the discipline and focus (courtesy of a hook-up with stern Saturn), but it is inspired by an easy trine to visionary Neptune.

Saturn moves into Scorpio at 4:34PM ET. The bottom line here is the bottom line. No more theories and rationalizations. Debts must be paid! Losses must be cut! I’ll write more on this theme in future posts. Meanwhile, how might this affect you? Well, if you were born in the first few days of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio or Aquarius, check in with a friend who was born in the last few days of Aries, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn and they will explain how it feels to have Saturn pressuring you to reach for an ambition and/or exposing weaknesses in your support system. Moon will be void until 8:45PM ET, when it enters homebody Cancer (there’s your clue for Saturday night and Sunday). We haven’t had a nice long Moon void in a while; enjoy the break and remember not to make any impulse purchases during this time, as whatever you think you need, you really don’t. Astro-logical Forecast for Thursday 10/4/2012: It’s Debatable

The Moon is void-of-course in Taurus as I type, but by the time most of you wake up, Moon will be in Gemini (as of 7:47AM ET), putting the focus of the day on information spun at lightning speed and probably in all directions at once. Clarity may still be a challenge (as it has been all week), but that rose-colored fog may enhance your dreams or your love life, given nebulous Neptune squaring the Moon at 9:17AM ET.

Meditation may also be exceptionally sublime, as turning inward for the knowledge you seek is suggested by Jupiter turning retrograde at 9:18AM ET (this was discussed in yesterday’s forecast). A profound realization may be yours for the asking today and tomorrow, as mental Mercury (mind, communication) teams up with disciplined Saturn tomorrow at the very last degree of rational, non-confrontational Libra (5:44AM ET). That’s right, folks, this is the last full day of Saturn’s 28 month trek through Libra, which suggested that the structure of relationship — especially fairness and equality therein — would be a major focus. So I’m delighted to note this poll from Omaha noting that a majority of Nebraskans now favor legal recognition of same-sex unions, which is a huge shift from 12 years ago, and is consistent with an “evolution that is nationwide”. See? We can evolve. How cool is that?

What can we expect when Saturn moves into Scorpio? Tune in tomorrow.

And now, a follow-up to yesterday’s predictions for last night’s debate between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney. Had I been sitting down, I would have fallen out of my chair when Obama opened the debate by saying he became “the luckiest man on Earth” when he married his wife 20 years ago. Is that “wearing his heart on his sleeve” or what? Was Obama’s performance as “the smartest kid in the room” bewildering and/or inspiring? Certainly bewildering for many who felt the President lacked passion and did not aggressively combat many of the assertions made by Romney. Personally, I noted plenty of aggression, albeit diffused — as one could expect with nebulous Neptune challenging Obama’s Moon. What aggression, you may ask. On several occasions, I observed that when Mr. Romney went on an attack, Obama did this.

Neptune, which dissolves whatever it touches, was startlingly visible in Romney’s physicality, as we would expect from its current challenging square to his Gemini Ascendant (thus dissolving/confusing Romney’s personal projection). Am I the only one who noticed that Romney could not stop blinking his eyes throughout the debate? I found it distracting, and it is an apparent manifestation of a pattern first observed by astrologer Noel Tyl. From pages 634-635 of his masterful text, Synthesis & Counseling in Astrology, we find:

There is what I call the “Neptune eye-flutter,” when Neptune is prominent…the person will rapidly flutter the eyes in near closure every time he or she uses the first person singular in speech. …the suggestion is that Neptune is way “up front” in the horoscope and that some process of censorship, refinement, amassing of security in the face of challenge or threat, or lack of conviction is going on under the surface of what is being said. When the self is exposed through opinion, the insecurity threatens to the surface, and the eye-flutter filters the feeling.

Isn’t that interesting? I call it the “Neptune I-flutter”, and here’s where we’ve seen it before — in the last two paragraphs of the post. In Mr. Romney’s case it was striking to see him blinking — not just on the word “I” — but on nearly everything he said. What does that suggest?

Astro-logical Forecast for Wednesday 10/3/2012: Jupiter Retrograde; Presidential Debate

Briefly…

Moon is still in Taurus, needing to establish material security and keep things as they are or as they should be. Moon in Taurus does not like change — and it’s good thing planetary patterns are relatively quiet today.

At 2:59AM ET, Venus — which refers to social expression, arts, women and money — left luxurious, regal, drama queen Leo for the pristine, detail-oriented, potentially hypercritical sign of Virgo. What a perfect placement for all those fact checkers at tonight’s 1st debate between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney. Facts could get blurry in spite of it all, however, thanks to an exact aspect between Venus and nebulous Neptune at 6:28PM ET. But if you are a dreamer, a healer, a lover or an artist, you may well find the rose-colored vibe inspiring.

There were reports this week that Mitt Romney was “memorizing zingers” in preparation for the debate tonight. Because that is what will make or break this election, folks: a ten-second sound bite played over and over on media outlets everywhere. And with Jupiter standing dead-still in the middle of information-junkie Gemini (it turns REtrograde at 9:18AM ET Thursday), big verbal pronouncements made now may well have to be REviewed over and over again. In your own personal world, Jupiter retrograde can put a hold on plans for expansion. In Gemini, which refers to mindset, communication and information, it suggests you rely on your own sense of inner knowing to define or confirm your reality, rather than that 10-second soundbite they’re playing incessantly on TV. Seriously.

Jupiter will turn direct on January 29, 2013…why that is just after Inauguration Day in the US — isn’t that interesting?

So. Can we expect Mitt Romney to be zingy tonight? Right now aggressive, action-oriented Mars is at 27 degrees of Scorpio, a sign known more for stings than zings. And this Mars is sitting right on top of Romney’s Moon-Jupiter conjunction at 27 Scorpio, which is verrrry close to the area of the horoscope referring to public projection. I hope Mr. Romney has been at the gym all week, because this pattern suggests a tremendous amount of energy built up for release. It could be a burst of passion…or irritability and/or combativeness.

In Obama’s horoscope, this ornery Mars in Scorpio is sitting close to the top of chart (Midheaven), which refers to his public status. Go ahead, make his day. Note that at the beginning of the debate — 9PM in Denver, CO — Obama’s Moon in Gemini will be exactly aligned with a key angle (the Ascendant) in the chart for that moment in time. Wearing his heart on his sleeve? Projecting an aura of assertive action and passion? That’s what I expect to see, with the same caveat of potential irritability noted in Romney’s horoscope.

Nebulous Neptune is also active in both horoscopes. For Obama, it is close to a square to his Gemini Moon, suggesting either a bewildering or an inspiring experience of his need to be the smartest, most engaging kid in the room. For Romney it exactly squares his Gemini Ascendant, — reflecting the confusing personal image even fans of Mr. Romney have bemoaned all year long. Where have we seen this pattern before? Anyone remember Rick Perry’s inability to name what three agencies he would abolish if he became President? That happened when Neptune was exactly challenging his Ascendant, too.

Astro-logical Forecast for Tuesday 10/2/2012: A Day of Crystalline Vision

A productive day for organizing and giving form to your cherished vision, so get up, get going and make the most of it. Sure, the Moon is now in sensual Taurus, which is often inclined to linger or dawdle in whatever material security it has created. But you can also use this energy to lay down key building blocks and crystallize connections. Go for it. Venus, which rules Taurus and Libra (where the Sun is right now), is in a supportive connection with stabilizing Saturn, which is why I suggest you can make something real out of the rose-colored fog those who are less conscious may be in (see yesterday’s forecast for details suggesting that planetary pattern).

Astro-logical Forecast for Monday 10/1/2012: A Week of Shifting Sands

The reigning need of the day continues to be driven by the Moon in pioneering, inspirational, falldownstairsbecauseit’sfasterthanwalking Aries. This start to the work week may be RAMbunctious, but you can accomplish much. Do your best to get things out the door today and tomorrow, especially if you are pitching something new. By midweek, we will be switching gears significantly, as suggested by

Venus leaving dramatic Leo for prissy Virgo on Wednesday (changing the tenor of social expression);
Jupiter, planet of expansion (and a key symbol in business) turns retrograde on Thursday, which may hold some ventures and Big Ideas back for a few months (for necessary review and re-tooling);
Friday, Saturn, planet of structure and ambition leaves cerebral, people-pleasing, balance-seeking Libra for a three-year trek through the emotionally controlled, cut-to-the chase, pay that balance NOW sign of Scorpio;
Mars, planet of action leaves Scorpio for high-flying, opinionated Sagittarius on Saturday;
Neptune casts its trademarked rose-colored fog of illusion and confusion through the whole week, as we shall note in events that range from the sublime to the surreal. And here I’m thinking back to some of the weird headlines we saw in late March and mid-April, when similar patterns were in effect.

So now you know what we’ll be talking about this week, and for today, let’s talk about Item #5, since the planetary patterns involved were part of Saturday’s Full Moon. In that chart, Venus was approaching an opposition to Neptune (exact Wednesday at 6:28PM ET); Mars was squaring Neptune (exact next Monday). What does that suggest? Illusion, idealism, fantasy, delusion, spirits of ALL kinds, sacrifice and healing in social expression, arts/women/finance. That’s Venus. For Mars, we can expect news of intangibles, hype, glamour, people too sexy for their shirts, fanaticism and con artists (with the emphasis on “artist”) — and maybe, just maybe, some stories of authentic salvation and genuine compassion.

Neptune is the energy that dissolves whatever it touches. For those of us living in a world of physical reality, dealing with Neptune can be like dealing with fog or quicksand. One hazard is noted in this front page piece on Valium, which apparently was introduced in 1963, at the beginning of the status quo-disrupting Uranus-Pluto cycle (now, at the current Uranus-Pluto square, the Valium plant is being closed). One benefit of Neptune: dreams and visions. We need our dreams to inspire us to reach for realities that do not yet exist in the known physical world.

And finally, an intriguing “violent outburst” that seems in synch with the explosive potential of Saturday’s Full Moon: an explosion at an acid factory in Japan, with consequences likely to disrupt the status quo. Why? Because the factory is the third-largest manufacturer of super-absorbent polymers, which are used to make disposable diapers. Potential silver lining: landfills probably don’t need more disposable diapers… ; )
