Astro-logical Forecast for Friday 11/26/2010 and the Weekend

Hopefully you all enjoyed the relative equilibrium suggested by yesterday’s easy connection between Sun in enthusiastic, opinionated, high-flying Sagittarius and Moon in playful, generous, indulgent Leo; it was the only exact aspect on Friday. Here in the US, holiday shoppers responded by enthusiastically hitting the stores and indulging in multiple material expressions of generosity. Recession? What recession? Not yesterday. How lucky for retailers!

Today there may be even more things on your to-do list…or your shopping list, and I bet you’ve got all sorts of imaginative, innovative ideas on what to buy and how to accomplish buying it. Or on whatever else you are doing, if you are not shopping. And now, a word from our sponsor: if you’re looking for a gift that screams IT’S ALL ABOUT YOU!, why not give a gift certificate for an astro-logical consultation? A horoscope for a newborn baby is a lovely gift for parents, too. Contact me for details. And now, back to our program: Your inspiration and motivated, ingenious, creative problem-solving arrives courtesy of productive connections to Mercury (mind) and innovative Uranus and inspirational Neptune. Dreamy, perhaps even magical thinking prevails into the evening hours.

Sunday is more practical. The need to organize, refine and perfect is suggested by Moon going into chaste, sometimes persnickety Virgo at 4:34AM NY time. A final challenge to your New Moon agenda may show up this afternoon…or be on your desk first thing Monday morning. Stay tuned…

Astro-logical Forecast for Tuesday-Thursday 11/23 – 25/2010

The week of October 17th-23rd was notable for a number of aspects between nebulous Neptune and other planets: Moon, Mercury, Sun and Mars. Feedback from readers was that, as anticipated, it was a bit loopy, dreamy, mystical and/or magical. I also noted this relevant, idealistic news item in my calendar on Oct. 20th: “Taliban Elite, Aided by NATO, Join in Talks for Peace” http://www.nytimes.com/2010/10/20/world/asia/20afghan.html Peace — wow – could this be true?  Well, Neptune has been known to pour oil on troubled waters (in fact, it rules both).  And Neptune has also been known to put on quite a show — a display of charisma — an illusion, especially if Mars is involved (which it was). Fast forward to an article that appeared minutes ago in the NY Times: “Taliban Leader in Secret Talks Was an Impostor” http://www.nytimes.com/2010/11/23/world/asia/23kabul.html?ref=world  Isn’t astrology fun?

If you thought Monday was busy, Tuesday looks even busier. The Moon in “need to inform and be informed” Gemini is bouncing off six planets from 12:22AM NY time until it goes void of course with a sigh at 4:56PM NY. Dizzy! More weirdness may kick in around lunchtime on the East Coast, courtesy of Neptune (again!) and innovative, eccentric, erratic Uranus. Surprise!

Chill out during the void period, which ends at 8:14PM when Moon goes into emotional security-focused Cancer, where it will remain all through Thanksgiving Day — suggesting we may truly be able to express our gratitude and appreciation for the comforts of home among cherished family and friends —  without the fireworks.

On the other hand…I’m thinking the potentially nasty challenge from ruthless Pluto to that vulnerable Moon on Wednesday, followed by a potentially restrictive, rigid, authoritarian, control freak (shall I go on?) downer of a contact to Moon from Saturn on Wednesday evening could make for some very interesting headlines on the biggest travel day of the year, especially with a protest allegedly planned against the new “security” measures implemented by the TSA. Whatever snags you may encounter in your travels on Wednesday (and you may not encounter any at all), take comfort in the probability that when you do reach your destination, a loving and joyful experience awaits. Happy Thanksgiving!!

Astro-logical Forecast for Monday 11/22/2010

Happy Monday! We woke up with a wobble — the Sun left Scorpio this AM and entered the sign of Sagittarius, the Archer — half man, half horse — and affectionately dubbed by yours truly as “the philosopher clown”. Why? Because Sag has opinions on just about everything and they are usually all to happy to tell you exactly what they are. These opinions, however, are usually concerned with deep, “big picture” ideas, delivered enthusiastically and with an eye on the heavens (the Archer aims his bow toward the sky — who knows why). Still, all the wisdom in the world doesn’t help when you are aiming for the stars and tripping over your four cloven “feet”; hence, “philosopher clown” (fortunately Sag has a terrific sense of humor). At any rate, be patient with yourself adjusting to the fiery shift in tone.

Lots of information hitting the airwaves today, thanks to Moon in chatty Gemini. Maybe there will be talk about the illumination you may have experienced about new lines of communication made over the weekend…hmmm?

Heads up for Angelenos: Moon goes void on Tuesday for three hours, starting at 1: 56…until 5:14. Try to get it done before lunch tomorrow.

Astro-logical Forecast for Friday 11/19/2010 and the Weekend

Several readers mentioned feeling a bit wobbly yesterday, which can happen when planets change signs and/or directions. And yesterday it was Jupiter (expansion) and Venus (social expression), moving forward after some months (Jupiter) and some weeks (Venus). Patience is required under these energetic shifts, and frankly, patience wasn’t likely on deck yesterday, with Moon in impulsive, “not now, but RIGHT NOW” Aries.

Today is different. Today we have Moon in “keep things exactly as they are”, poky old stubborn Taurus. The pace may slow down and give you time to dig deep. Sensual experiences — food, music, massages — can be happily placed on your agenda tonight and through Sunday AM.

Saturday you can establish material security to your heart’s content at the mall or around the home — there is no void of course Moon to interfere with your purchasing power. Do note the potential for intense verbal fencing and/or overblown opinions during the day, courtesy of a hook-up between Mercury (mind) and Mars (actions) in enthusiastic, high-flying Sagittarius.

Sunday the Moon waxes full at 29 degrees of Taurus, opposing the last degree of moody bastard Scorpio. Recall your New Moon agenda of laying down or repairing lines of communication. What new light will be shed today? Here are two clues, suggested by the Sabian Symbols (some day I’ll write about where those came from): “A peacock parading on an ancient lawn” and “A Halloween jester” — and now, I’ll just quote from Blain Bovee’s book on Sabian Symbols, for a detailed description because it says it all:  “Consider the genius to work beyond the struggles of power and cooperation; a balance of discriminating intelligence with intangible impressions; the ability to laugh at oneself, the see the divine humor at play in all thing; to see the humor in human folly; a genuine smile; feeling at home; a consummate attitude of ‘there is much to admire and much to smile about'”

There. That’s your Full Moon illumination – may it enable you to lay down lines of communication with confidence into new frontiers. Thanks, Blain!

Anyone in Congress reading this forecast? I didn’t think so. Sigh. But some day….

Astro-logical Forecast for Thursday 11/18/2010

Well, here’s something you don’t see everyday: expansive, jolly Jupiter AND loving Venus BOTH turning direct within a few hours of one another. OMG, I can almost hear you all falling down the stairs (Moon is still in impulsive, waste-no-time Aries) in excitement. With Jupiter moving direct, plans for expansion can now move forward. All you Pisces born in the last seven days of your sign, enjoy this time of potentially sweet abundance; before you know it, Jupiter will move into Aries and you’ll have to wait another 12 years for your ship to come in again.

With Venus turning direct in Libra, it will take a bit of time — give it a week or so — to start remembering that there is no “I” in “TEAM”. Manners? Propriety? Diplomacy? Ah yes, it is all coming back to you now. If you made any major changes in your relationship status during the past six weeks — a divorce, a marriage, a new love affair — or if you made an expensive purchase, elected one political candidate in favor of another, or re-wallpapered your bedroom walls, you will now have time to review your aesthetic decisions. Did you make the right choice?

Rose-colored glasses are very much in vogue today, thanks to nebulous Neptune squaring Sun, our life force. Note that both Sarah Palin and Barack Obama have this aspect in their horoscopes — and hey — isn’t this intriguing — Glenn Beck has it, too; in fact, he and Sarah Palin are born EXACTLY one day apart — do you see any similarities???

Meanwhile, Sun is approaching a delightful connection to innovative, eccentric Uranus (exact just past midnight NY time  tomorrow). If you’ve got an idea for attracting attention in a unique way, by all means have at it. Dare to be different. Dare to be a genius. Dare to be yourself.

Finally, if you’re up past midnight tonight and tomorrow, catch the Leonid meteor showers!

Astro-logical Forecast for Tuesday 11/16/2010

“Up, up and away…in my beautiful balloon…” feels like no coincidence that I’d encounter this song on a evening (Monday) under the influence of a jovial connection between Sun and expansive, often high-flying Jupiter http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aoSocikOpHU&feature=related — and oh — this can’t be a coincidence, either — the recording is by The Fifth Dimension and today (Monday) I noted yet another news item about scientists being confident that the existence of other dimensions will likely be proven in a year or so — http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/wireStory?id=12152908

Angelenos, if you’re reading this after 8:37AM LA time, the Moon is void of course until 2:59 PM LA time. Maybe you overslept — or will face a more challenging commute to the office today. New Yorkers, you probably got to work just fine…and hopefully accomplished a lot before 11:37AM. The rest of your day is great for creative noodling and for taking care of routine matters. If a crisis materializes during your afternoon, I’d be willing to bet that it is much ado about nothing. Chill, float…go with the flow…listen to some groovy music…until Moon blasts into pioneering, full-speed ahead Aries at 5:59PM NY time. You may notice the shift in energy immediately as the pace picks up.

Now granted, we can’t always plan our days perfectly according to the planetary patterns. Perhaps you have some Very Important Meeting scheduled this AM. Don’t panic! Just be aware of what’s going on when you’re in that meeting. Is it hard to stay focused on the meeting agenda? Is there an unexpected twist that requires you to drop your original strategy and adjust to a new game plan? If so, just roll with it — even if the twist is that the person you’re meeting with doesn’t show up– physically — or worse — mentally. You’ll have a chance to regroup later.

Astro-logical Forecast for Monday 11/15/2010

Your Monday AM, especially if you’re on the East Coast, could get off to a bumpy start, thanks to a challenge to Moon (feelings) from Mars (action) at 8:15AM  NY time. A possible clash of wills or someone’s loudmouthed opinion that could cause a little spat? That’s a possible downside. On a possible upside, you just might wake up with a burst of enthusiasm and energy as you prepare to tackle the work week. Who needs caffeine when you’ve got an easy connection to the Sun from expansive and sometimes downright jolly Jupiter, the Cosmic Sugar Daddy? If you’re born around March 13, November 14 or July 15, you may be on the receiving end of a special dose of good fortune — you might even splurge on a lottery ticket or two.

Whatever you have on your plate, get it done today if you can. The Moon will be void of course from 11:37AM – 5:59PM NY time on Tuesday, suggesting a day of rest, brainstorming, routine, flaking out…or things not going quite as planned.

Astro-logical Forecast for Thursday 11/11/2010

Hmmm….it’s 11/11 — is that significant? Some people believe that when you see 11:11, an angel is trying to get your attention. Check it out here:  http://spiritlibrary.com/doreen-virtue/number-sequences-from-the-angels

We are wrapping up the last few hours of Moon in proactive, strategic-minded Capricorn, so use the morning  — until 2:57PM NY time to get things done. Then you can rest for a few…until 5:32PM NY during the void-of-course Moon. A long lunch on the West Coast; an afternoon of “letting things settle” on the East Coast. Remember Moon voids are good for routine activities, creative brainstorming, napping and flaking out. Be aware that surprises and upsets are more likely to occur during a void period when you are trying to do anything that involves moving in a straight line.

After the void, Moon enters the humanitarian sign of Aquarius. No exact aspects this evening suggests a quiet night. Enjoy.

Astro-logical Forecast for Friday 11/12/2010 and the Weekend

Unless you are currently under pressure from stressful transits from heavy outer planets in your own personal horoscope (contact your local astrologer for details), there is no reason why you can’t have a perfectly lovely weekend appreciating the beauty of friendship and other common bonds. And even if you ARE under pressure from stressful transits, you could, if you choose to do so, decide to find one thing in your life for which you are grateful…which immediately puts you in the position of a HAVE, as opposed a HAVE-NOT…and this can be very empowering.

Here’s a fun collective endeavor I spotted today — it was published on 10/31/2010 — but no matter — it feels like a wonderful manifestation of news from the underground (Pluto in Capricorn) combined with the rarefied, out-there, extravagant, collective spirit of Jupiter-Uranus at the end of compassionate “we are the world” Pisces, and Neptune “sublime art forms” in humanitarian Aquarius:  http://www.nytimes.com/2010/11/01/arts/design/01underbelly.html

I encourage you to appreciate a collective art form this weekend, if you are so inclined.

On Friday, Moon in Aquarius in a cooperative connection with Mercury (mind) and Mars (action) can be extremely useful in your quest to lay down and/or repair lines of communication likely involving joint endeavors (remember the New Moon agenda from last week).  Saturday may present a challenge to that agenda — thanks to the First Quarter Moon at 11:39AM. Perhaps something in the headlines about crossing or reaching across party lines (a “party line”, as those who grew up in the Stone Age know, is an old-fashioned mode of communication via telephone — an actual shared telephone line).

Saturday evening could be a delicious escape, thanks to a rose-colored hook-up between nebulous Neptune and the Moon; Sunday the communion may well continue when Moon enters soulful Pisces at 5:24AM NY time, after a void starting at 1:33AM.  If you’re working over the weekend on a creative project that needs to be structured, you may find it flows ever so easily…a vibe that will likely carry over into Monday. Yay.
