Astro-logical Forecast for Monday & Tuesday 3/31/2014: A Rollicking Week; the US Horoscope & More

Alll-riighty, then!

As of 4:20PM ET on Monday, the New Moon in Aries is void-of-course, and perhaps happily so, given that its last aspect was a communicative connection to friendly Venus in Aquarius. Got something social on your calendar this evening?

The Moon enters Taurus on Tuesday at 1:20AM ET; until then you are free to wander aimlessly, take care of routine tasks and roll with twists that may impede your efforts to move forward in a straight line. Better yet, find some time to chill, as this Moon void is the only natural break in the action the Americas will see during business hours until Saturday.

Tuesday’s Taurus Moon offers stabilizing, security-building energy after a work week that began with a surge of enthusiasm, courtesy of the pioneering Aries Sun’s contact with expansive Jupiter at (exact at Tuesday at 3:40AM ET).  Did Monday feel like you had a lot on your plate? Can’t believe you ate the whole thing —  or promised more than you could deliver? Maybe you were just feeling generous — or were the recipient of someone’s bounty.

Whichever it was, a need for fierce self-determination that also stamps the week (courtesy of the Sun’s hook up with rebel Uranus on Wednesday at 3:08AM ET) may take solid form, bolstered by a practical and productive connection between mental Mercury and sobering, disciplined Saturn, also exact on Wednesday. In your own personal world, much planning and strategy may be accomplished, driven by careful thinking.  The potential downside may be having your ego energies meet with stubborn Taurus resistance and a conservative or patriarchal mindset.

Regardless, on Thursday at 5:19AM ET, the Sun is challenged by ruthless Pluto, suggesting a power play or catharsis likely related to resources, plus plenty of dirt exposed and other disruptive “news from underground”. How fast can you say “wake up and smell the coffee?” For those who insist on hitting the snooze button, be advised that mental Mercury will engage with the planetary heavies (Jupiter, Uranus and Pluto) on April 14th. Aggressive Mars gets into the act on April 22nd-23rd, triggering the widely anticipated Cardinal Grand Cross and fifth of seven exact Uranus-Pluto squares. NOW will they get out of bed?

You are personally affected by all the excitement if you have a planet or angle around 8-14 degrees of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn — and especially 11-14 degrees of those signs.  The 8-10 degree people are directly affected by Sunday’s powerful Aries New Moon. Consult your local astrologer for details.

And now, the news.

Talk about a wake-up call — although if you’re like me and read Al Gore’s book Earth in the Balance when it was published in 1992, it’s hardly news to you. But there, in perfect synch with planetary patterns, and on the front page of the New York Times, is the latest climate change report warning that “the worst is yet to come”. Another wake-up call — also noted in prior posts, but “coincidentally” showed up on my Facebook feed right after the New Moon is this item listing the Five Biggest Regrets of the Dying. May it give you the courage to be true to yourself!

You know how I like to say that Aries falls down stairs because it’s faster than walking. Getting there FIRST, no matter how reckless the method might be, is definitely an Aries trait. And on this Aries New Moon, so tightly configured with the disruptive and resource-focused T-square among Jupiter, Uranus and Pluto, how interesting to see an excerpt from Michael Lewis’ latest book in Sunday’s NYT magazine. The book is called Flash Boys: A Wall Street Revolt and this excerpt explains how the stock markets are rigged by high frequency trading and what a small group of rebel entrepreneurs are doing  to correct this apparently corrupt practice.

I don’t know what the good folks at Cadillac were thinking when they decided to air this ad for its electric car, but it sparked considerable debate when it aired just before Mars turned retrograde on March 1st. AdAge noted:

Fans on the political right see “Poolside” as an unapologetic ode to American values. Critics on the political left see it as Ugly American chest thumping at its worst. During a time when Americans are working harder and longer for less money, others question the spot’s perceived workaholic message.

Mars refers to cars. Conventional astrological wisdom advises against buying a car when Mars is retrograde. A REview or REvision of something related to Mars is entirely appropriate during a REtrograde, however. So here is Ford’s response to Cadillac commercial — with a different spin on the rewards of the American work ethic. Which car would you buy?

As for the American work ethic, it is screamingly obvious in the U.S. horoscope. Our Sun at 13 degrees Cancer is squared by stern Saturn at 14 degrees Libra. On the upside, sure,  we have the resolve to move mountains and build empires. On the downside,  it suggests a difficult relationship with a demanding and/or remote paternal influence. This may lead to an inferiority complex in matters of ambition. It suggests an entity that may work hard out of guilt or fear of lack, especially in comparison to someone else. You know the expression “keeping up with the Joneses?” It’s an American creation.

Point is, the Cardinal Grand Cross (and especially Uranus and Pluto) is directly impacting the U.S.’s Sun-Saturn square. Revelations, revolutions and transformations regarding our work ethic may be anticipated. Raise the minimum wage, already! In fact, last week, Connecticut became the first state to raise the minimum wage to $10.10. Isn’t that interesting?

This fire engine red is brought to you by the Moon in fiery Aries! April is going to be a power-packed month!   Book a personal astro-logical consultation and find out what it means to YOU.

Astro-logical Forecast for Sunday 3/30/2014: New Moon in Aries

Aloooooo-ha!

By the time you read this, the Moon will have completed a loonnng void-of-course drift through dreamy Pisces and blasted into RAMbunctious Aries at 9:54PM ET, putting an energetic spin on your Saturday night plans. Not that there’s any place in particular to go, however, given that the Moon is still “dead” until Sunday, when a new cycle begins.

The New Moon in Aries happens at 2:45PM ET, offering us an opportunity to re-set  intentions and goals for the next lunar cycle.  Make a list, light a candle, say a prayer. Around April 7th, on the First Quarter Moon, we can expect a challenge to those goals, with appropriate adjustments made. At the time of the Full Moon on the 15th, we can expect illumination on the success or failure of our goals for the cycle. If we succeeded, we can consciously release our success into our reality; if we failed, we let go of whatever did not work. After the Third Quarter Moon on the 22nd, we can review our achievements, tie up loose ends and get ready to begin another New Moon cycle on  April 29th.

A New Moon in Aries suggests a need — or an opportunity — to be a courageous, inspiring pioneer and/or warrior, preferably on the side of the angels.  At its best, Aries is a champion for the weak, the vulnerable, the underdog. It inspires people to take initiatives and defy the odds…yes, sometimes foolishly, but hey — if Plan A blows up, there’s always a Plan B, a Plan C and D. A true Aries never never never gives up. Astrologer Linda Goodman once wrote that Gone With the Wind heroine Scarlett O’Hara was a classic Aries, and never more so than at the end of the film when, after Rhett Butler dumps her and life is totally over, Scarlett declares, “I’ll think of some way to get him back. After all, tomorrow is another day”. To Aries, there is always a tomorrow.

At its worst, well…let’s just say Aries can be utterly self-absorbed and go to disturbing extremes in order to get there FIRST. Astrologer Rick Levine likes to say the Aries operating principle is, “Ready…Fire…Aim!” Wherever, whatever…so long as something gets started. I like to say that Aries falls down stairs because it is faster than walking. You got a problem with that?

This New Moon kicks off several weeks of volatile planetary patterns, which does not mean you should run screaming down the halls. Yes, there will be disruptions of the status quo and reckless behavior. But there will also be breakthroughs sure to excite, awe and in some cases, emancipate and empower.  If you are personally affected by this lunation i.e., have a planet or angle around 8 to 14 degrees of Aries, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn, a shake-up may be an opportunity for a much-needed fresh start.

This New Moon features the Sun and Moon together at 9 degrees of Aries, about to hook up with rebel Uranus. It is a fiercely independent and potentially eccentric alignment. This gathering of planets sits in a T-square formation — between expansive Jupiter and potent Pluto. Add a ton of optimism (Jupiter) and resources (Pluto) to the mix. The Uranus-Jupiter-Pluto T-square has dominated the sky all year; in the news we can expect more of the same in matters of energy, power, food, money: who has it; who doesn’t — again with the potential for breakthrough revelations.

Visionary thinking is also a big part of the next four weeks, as dreamy Neptune and mental Mercury are both running wild in empathic Pisces. Check out this item about a “Festival of Colors” making it to the homepage of the New York Times (link to the original story with pictures is here). Far out!

The big challenge for initiatives made during this cycle is suggested by Mars, ruler of Aries, currently retrograde. This suggests impatience and/or frustration,  and rash actions taken as a result. A retrograde Mars is excellent for planning strategy; not so great for instigating a conflict — including lawsuits and wars.

The Sabian Symbol for this New Moon is “a man teaching new forms for old symbols,” which is ever-so-hopeful in this time of anticipated volatility, don’t you think? Sabian Symbol guru Blaine Bovee suggests we apply it with a mind to “the ingenious ability to make the unworkable work again; to make the unmanageable manageable” or otherwise reinventing the wheel. If you’re stumped, start by going shopping in your closet. Create something fabulous and fresh with pieces you’ve owned for years. Then take your old computer hard drives, mix them with a dozen eggshells and this morning’s coffee grounds, and turn it all into a solar panel. I really believe we have the creative genius to figure this all out…

Note the potential for volatility between 5:08PM ET and 8:46PM ET, as the Moon makes its weekly contact with Jupiter, Uranus and then Pluto. Aries Moon: me-me-me first action!  Jupiter: ooh! go for it! Uranus: surprise! Pluto: power play or catharsis, for better or worse. Be mindful if you are on the roads…or walking on a road, as the potential for accidents is higher than usual. Same mindfulness is advised if you are working with knives or any other form of steel.

No sleeping in on Monday…there are very few breaks in the action this week…

April is going to be a power-packed month! A powerful New Moon sets the tone on March 30th. Then, the Sun and Mercury make contact with the Uranus-Pluto square. But wait, there’s more! Two eclipses, bracketing the fifth of the seven exact Uranus-Pluto squares in a rare Cardinal Grand Cross formation. How will your horoscope be affected? Book a personal astro-logical consultation and plan a strategy for now and the rest of the year.

Astro-logical Forecast for Thursday 3/27/2014: Mind the Void, Part 2 — with Much Aloha

It’s deja vu all over again. As in, just like Tuesday. Except it’s Thursday. Moon goes void of course at 9:13AM ET and doesn’t enter the next sign — Pisces — until 8:10PM ET. Go with the flow and appreciate that efforts to move forward in a straight line may be hampered by flakes, twists and a feeling that you’re herding cats. Take care of routine tasks and do not freak out over crises that usually turn out to be much ado about nothing.

And that’s all I have to say about that.

It’s 27 degrees here in New York…again. Have I mentioned that I will be Hawaii next week? I’ll be there for the month of April, reporting on the action suggested by two eclipses, the fifth of seven exact hits of the never-ending Uranus-Pluto square and a rare Cardinal Grand Cross that is sure to be reflected in some interesting events for those whose horoscopes are personally affected. If you have a planet or angle between 8 and 14 degrees of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn, that would be you. Same for those with planets and angles at 28 degrees of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius. But wait — there’s more: 24-27 degrees of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn…as well as 6-9 degrees of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius: come on down….ohhhhh yeahhh….

If you can’t make to Hawaii anytime soon, you can still enjoy the aloha spirit of this fun and funky New York-based band. Quirky, too — and thus appropriate for a Moon void in eccentric Aquarius. Ladies and gentlemen, please give a warm welcome to……The Moonlighters.

Astro-logical Forecast for Wednesday 3/26/2014: Mercury Trine Jupiter;Gwyneth Paltrow

Late post today, as I’m packing for a birthday trip to Hawaii, which is one of the positive potentials of having rose-colored Neptune making a significant connection to the Moon. Woo-hoo! Who’s buying the champagne?

Since you all read Monday’s forecast, you know that today is a day for getting things done. There’s no Moon void to derail your efforts to move forward in a straight line, and the Moon is in detached-yet-ever-so-friendly Aquarius. Network, network, network…and hang out with your weird, wacky friends in the evening. Ship it today, rather than tomorrow, as the Moon WILL be void as of 9:13AM ET Thursday until 8:10PM ET that night. If research is on your list of things today for the rest of the week, take advantage of a healthy dirt-digging connection between mental Mercury and investigative Pluto which is exact on Friday.

Also noted in Monday’s forecast: a connection between Mercury and expansive Jupiter, suggesting we’d see news involving publishing, justice and/or religion. How interesting to see on the New York Times homepage this item about local bookstores closing because rents keep expanding. And just now, this item about the Pope accepting the resignation of a high-spending bishop. The court case making headlines this week adds the essence of Saturn in Scorpio (controlling consequences of sexual energy), as arguments are heard by the Supreme Court about whether a corporation can refuse to provide its female employees insurance coverage for contraceptives on the grounds that it restricts religious freedom. None of the corporations are concerned about providing coverage for Viagra…or vasectomies.

So Gwyneth Paltrow’s slightly bewildering divorce announcement is attracting a lot of attention. I glanced at her horoscope for about a minute and immediately noted transiting Neptune (bewilderment) almost conjunct her Pisces Ascendant, which rules her first house of personal projection/ego identity. Her Mercury, which rules her 4th house of family/home and her  7th house of partnerships has (and still is) been supercharged by the never-ending Uranus-Pluto square, suggesting a need for empowering and/or emancipating mindset and communication in those 4th and 7th house areas. And from 2009-2012, she had the Uranus-Pluto square challenging her Libra Sun, suggesting still greater needs for empowerment and individuation. No surprise at all that her marriage would have to find a way to accommodate those needs…and sometimes accommodation is escape or dissolution.

April is going to be a power-packed month! A powerful New Moon sets the tone on March 30th. Then, two eclipses, bracketing the fifth of the seven Uranus-Pluto squares — in a rare Cardinal Grand Cross.   How will your horoscope be affected? Astro-logical Forecast for Tuesday 3/25/2014: Mind the Void; MH370 Update

East Coasters, you may leap out of bed this morning ready to tackle the world, courtesy of a constructive connection between the practical Capricorn Moon and disciplined Saturn (exact at 6:47AM ET) and an energetic boost from action hero Mars, exact at 8:35AM ET. Be advised that your efforts to move forward in a straight line may be subject to odd twists, flakes and detours, as the Moon goes void-of-course right on that feisty Mars connection. D’oh! Roll with the twists; keep calm and carry on…preferably with tasks that are merely routine.

This natural cosmic rest period continues until 6:39PM ET, when the Moon finally gets into gear in the sign of Aquarius.  West Coasters, that’s when your work day may finally feel focused…and when you might consider pitching the big ideas you’ve dreamed up, suggested by an exact connection between mental Mercury and expansive Jupiter at 9:11AM ET on Wednesday. Mercury-Jupiter aspects suggest headlines about “big picture” belief and communication systems: publishing, broadcasting, law, religion, travel. Oh look — here’s a ginormous seven-figure advance being paid to the lucky writer who will pen Rolling Stone publisher Jann Wenner‘s biography. The book will be published in 2017, right when empowering Pluto conjoins Wenner’s Sun at 16 Capricorn. Comme c’est bizarre et quelle coincidence….except it’s astro-logical, where there is no such thing as coincidence. We are still in the rosy glow of the weekend’s Mercury-Neptune hook-up in Pisces, which ofter refers to music…

On Monday the Malaysian prime minister confirmed what many have been suspecting: that MH370 is presumed to lost — with no survivors — and its last known position suggests the flight ended in the South Indian Ocean. Two weeks ago I wrote that we might expect some significant developments around the 21st, noting a number of transits to the angles of the event chart for the flight’s departure. The transits involved Mercury (news) and the Moon (an event marker); Mercury, Moon and the Ascendant (an angle of the chart) were also active yesterday (24th), when the official announcement was made. RIP.

Two eclipses. The fifth of the seven Uranus-Pluto squares — in a Cardinal Grand Cross. April is going to be a power-packed month!  How will your horoscope be affected? Book a personal astro-logical consultation and maximize opportunities for growth and change.  Here’s the 411.

Astro-logical Forecast for Monday 3/24/2014: Sneak Peek at the Week; Mercury Conjunct Neptune in the News

Good Morning!

A bit of a stop-and-go week, at least during business hours in the Americas. Today, a proactive Capricorn Moon starts off in harmonious aspect to mental Mercury at 5:56AM ET. That’s good for writing up your to-do list. Five hours later, exuberant expansion is followed a potential jolt or revelation, as the Moon makes its weekly collision with the never-ending Uranus-Pluto square. A power play, emotional catharsis or an opportunity to heal may present itself at 2:57PM ET; the rest of the day is free and clear.

Get it off your desk today, as the Moon is void-of-course at 8:35A ET on Tuesday…not to enter the next sign, Aquarius, until 6:39PM ET. Wednesday looks good for getting things done; Thursday is another long void from 9:13AM ET until 8:10PM ET. Clear sailing on Friday. Moon void from 9:44AM ET until 9:54PM ET on Saturday. See what I mean by “stop-and-go”? For those new to this forecast (welcome!), here’s the 411 on how to handle Moon voids.

We are in the balsamic phase of the Moon; i.e., at the end of the current lunar cycle. Use this week to wrap up projects initiated at the New Moon on March 1st. The next New Moon is on Sunday at 2:45PM ET, and it looks like a powerhouse start to potentially volatile April. Patterns this week are comparatively light: mental Mercury gets a boost from expansive Jupiter on Wednesday and perspicacious early Friday morning. Saturday presents a potential mixed message when loving Venus (women, art, money, aesthetics) makes a harmonious connection to Mars (men, action, war) in the afternoon…and then gets smacked down or structured a couple of hours later by stern Saturn. Relationship challenge?

And now, the news. Last Saturday’s exact hook-up between mental Mercury and nebulous Neptune suggested music, spirituality, drugs and the surreal. Judges on the Italian version of The Voice were blown away by Cristina Scuccia, a.k.a. the Singing Nun.   Meanwhile, a bizarre drug bust involving cocaine, condoms and a package addressed to the Vatican has investigators baffled. Add the nitty-gritty dark potential of Saturn in Scorpio (forcing us to look at the most unsavory matters of life and death), and we might be talking about a 16-year old who gave birth to a stillborn baby and is about to be tried for murder.

I’ll end on a high note — literally. Have you heard about the Uranus in Aries daredevil Justin Casquejo? He’s also sixteen, and last week he made headlines when he climbed up to the top of the tallest building in New York, a.k.a., One Freedom Tower. In the middle of the night. Despite the “ring of steel” security measures in place at the site….

Thank you for reading this forecast and sharing it the with rest of the Free World.

Astro-logical Forecast for Friday 3/21/2014 & the Weekend: Color It Rose

East Coasters, your work day really doesn’t get into gear until after 11:39AM ET, when the Moon engages in high-flying Sagittarius. Until then, the Moon is void of course, suggesting a greater potential for sleeping through your alarm, wandering around aimlessly and/or experiencing a twist in your efforts to move forward in straight line.

A Sagittarius Moon lifts spirits, seeks to broaden horizons and is up for a gamble or a gambol. Today and through the weekend, the need for a rose-colored spin on such quests is augmented first by a bewildering challenge between the Moon and nebulous Neptune at 10:20PM ET on Friday…and then by a dreamy hook up between mental Mercury and Neptune, which is exact on Saturday at 4:16PM ET. This is lovely for art, music, healing, drugs, films, etc. — and all other intangible escapes. It may heighten empathy and intuition. It may heighten our awareness of suffering and sacrifice. It can also facilitate delusional spin, as in news that has not been fact-checked and con artists. Watch the headlines.

Sunday the Moon is void of course from 6:40AM until 4:03PM ET. Now you can reallllly wander, especially with Moon in adventurous Sagittarius. Resist impulse shopping until the Moon enters practical Capricorn. It’s OK to shop on Saturday; there’s no void to tempt you into buying something you really do not need.

Sunday at 9:46PM ET we’ll see the 3rd Quarter Moon present a challenge to whatever illumination you may have received on last Sunday’s Full Moon. Process that and be prepared to hit the ground running on Monday…no sleeping in…ship it that day or wait until Wednesday, as the Moon will be void for most of the day on Tuesday.

Have a great weekend!

Astro-logical Forecast for Thursday 3/20/2014: Sun in Aries; Vernal Equinox

Happy Vernal Equinox! Happy first day of Spring!  As of 12:57 PM ET, Sun will be in Aries, marking the beginning of a new astrological year. Courage, self-reliance, inspiration and a pioneering spirit are keywords for the Sun in Aries, sign of the ram — and the lamb.  In the Northern hemisphere (the birthplace of Western astrology), it is a time of renewal and rebirth — a chance to let go of old patterns and make a fresh start.

Moon is still in Scorpio, suggesting a double intensity to this day once the Sun changes signs. A heaviness piece of information or emotional issue may cap the night, as Moon meets up with stern Saturn at 11:11PM ET. Then the Moon goes void until 11:39AM ET on Friday.  Regular readers of this forecast know that Moon voids are natural rest/brainstorming periods where creative endeavors can take odd, sometimes magical, twists. Moving forward purposefully in a straight line is often challenged by sudden detours, flakes and cancellations. Crises that crop up tend to be much ado about nothing — but that may not stop people from behaving as if the house is on fire. Roll with the twists and go with the flow and double check everything if you absolutely must hit “send”. I find that voids can feel like mini Mercury retrogrades, accompanied by communication snafus and lack of mental focus. I say this because I can’t tell you how many times someone will ask me if Mercury is retrograde when in fact the Moon is void of course. If you are free to wander, you can accomplish a lot.

OK, about the vernal equinox. Here’s what you need to know about the first day of any season from an astrological point of view. The first day of each season (Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter) corresponds with the first day (or first DEGREE) of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn, respectively. Got that? Good. These four signs are called CARDINAL signs of the zodiac, with “cardinal” here suggesting (from the Latin root of the word), “that on which something turns or depends.”  Cardinal signs take ACTION. They INITIATE. Nothing happens without ACTION. And action leads to  NECESSARY CHANGE. As in a change of seasons — suggested by solstices and equinoxes. Clear?

The first day of a  season is prominent in our culture, right? We make a big deal over it — yes? So can you see that in astrology, we observe that PLANETS that are at the first degree of a cardinal sign (Aries, Cancer, Libra & Capricorn), tend to pack a more powerful, prominent punch. They suggest ACTION which leads to CHANGE — prominently! The first degree of the cardinal signs is known as the ARIES POINT. Got that?

If you have a planet or angle at the Aries Point, you can expect that the energy of that planet will demand prominent expression in your life. Your friends and family — and perhaps the entire free world — will notice it. William Shatner was born with the Sun at 0 Aries. “To boldly go where no man has gone before”? I should think so — and the whole world knows him for playing that role.

What are you projecting for yourself over the next year? What is going on in your horoscope that would reflect and/or support your projections? Inquiring minds want to know!

Astro-logical Forecast for Wednesday 3/19/2014: Older, Wiser, Eclipsed

Moon enters Scorpio at 5:13AM ET, seeking depth, substance and knowledge for the sake of power and control. And perhaps it will find some knowledge — or at least a productive exchange around 8:41AM ET, when the Moon makes a harmonious connection with mental Mercury. The day may soften as it progresses, courtesy of a lovely connection between the intense Scorpio Moon and dreamy Neptune. Good for artists, visionaries, healers and spiritual types.

It’s the last full day of the Sun in Pisces. The Vernal Equinox occurs on Thursday at 12:57PM ET, when the Sun enter Aries. Oh happy first day of Spring! But first,  let’s pause for a moment and contemplate the wisdom that can only be gained from experience. Here’s an article that was published on last week’s sobering square between Saturn (the elderly) and Mercury (youth, mindset). It’s called “The Science of Older and Wiser,” and there’s a quiz you can take to find out how wise you really are.

Meanwhile, if you live in the Northeast — and especially New York — and you’re up at 2AM, you can watch the fixed star Regulus be eclipsed by an asteroid — a rare celestial event. Regulus is one of the brightest stars in the sky, and it is also a so-called Royal Star, associated with the Archangel Raphael (who is also one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse). Here’s an in-depth article on Regulus I stumbled across in a Google search.

The asteroid in question is called Erigone 163. Interesting to note that Erigone is female; the sixth paragraph in this article talks about her. I’m not sure what to make of the symbolism of this rare celestial event, but it seems quite rich — and it is intriguing that it is happening on the Vernal Equinox and right over Manhattan

Astro-logical Forecast for Tuesday 3/18/2014: The End of the Year and Other Deep Thoughts

Ohhh…what a lot of news to process today….like a raindrop hanging on edge of a leaf, trembling as it contemplates a sudden release….falling into the ground…being absorbed and assimilated…into something greater than itself…

Clearly I’m writing under the influence of the Sun at the end of Pisces…only two more days and then the Sun will be reborn in Aries, and a new cycle begins. Trouble is, some people experience the end of Pisces as if it really is THE END. They can’t believe there’s a new dawn just around the corner. They give up hope; they wallow; they drown; they plan their escape. And here I would be thinking of yesterday’s reported suicide of fashion-model-turned-fashion-designer L’Wren Scott, also known as Mick Jagger’s significant other for 13 years. There’s some confusion about Ms. Scott’s birth date, though Wikipedia reports it as April 28th, 1964 in Salt Lake City. If that is true, her horoscope has been going through a long transit involving nebulous Neptune, ruler of Pisces, to her Saturn, suggesting a bewildering dissolution of structure and security.  They say it’s always darkest before the dawn…

Today the Moon is still in relationship-oriented Libra, gliding unimpeded through business hours until 9:07PM ET, when it makes an impassioned connection with Mars…and then goes void with a sigh until 5:13AM ET. A communicative connection between Venus (aesthetics, social expression, money, women) in friendly, offbeat Aquarius and Uranus (aviation, space, seismic activity) in pioneering Aries is exact at 3PM ET. Network to your heart’s content. Experience some unconventional art. Explore that sudden attraction to that kinda cute technogeek with the cobalt-streaked hair. Feel free to move beyond your comfort zone. During the void: chill, chill, chill…and enjoy where the drift takes you.

More news.

With Mars retrograde, I have noticed a lot of headlines involving a review of issues involving cars. And Mars just happens to refer to cars. Amazing! Here’s a follow-up about an auto plant in Ohio that Mitt Romney allegedly said was doomed because of the taxpayer-funded rescue of American automakers. Well, that’s not quite what happened. Meanwhile, Toyota has halted production at a  couple of plants in India because of labor issues. And General Motors is rushing to REcall a number of cars after a “decade-long failure” to correct a certain defect. In Paris, cars were actually banned — well, for one day. Finally, Tesla, the revolutionary car company, is battling mountains of red tape that are preventing sales of its electric vehicles in New Jersey and other states. Oh, I can’t imagine who might object to the sale of electric cars

With Venus sextile Uranus today, it makes sense that we’d see a piece about how a novel technology is changing social expression at Virgin Airlines,   along with seemingly-credible developments on the search for the missing plane,  MH370. Reflecting a more “out of the blue” potential of a story involving Venus (a woman) and Uranus (aviation), the internet was abuzz with a post by Courtney Love, wondering if she might have found MH370 after scanning a satellite map. Far out — but not really. With Mercury (thoughts, communication) running wild in Leo and prominently placed in her horoscope, it makes perfect sense that Courtney Love would need to share her research with the Entire Free World — with drama and flair.

Meanwhile, a story about a more collective sharing of resources — and how non-profit companies are on the rise — also seems fitting — and also reflects the bigger-picture economic disruptions suggested by the never-ending Uranus-Pluto square, a.k.a. The Planetary Pattern Everyone Should Be Talking About. What is this thing called “zero marginal cost society?” Click on the preceding link. The Uranus-Pluto square suggests — nay, demands — major change, especially with the latest climate report from NASA.  Did someone say end of the world? Perhaps will we get to that point faster if top-secret trade agreements like the Trans-Pacific Partnership go forward. This deal has been mentioned in prior posts; here’s an op-ed about it in a mainstream newspaper…finally.
