"I was blown away. It was so different from anything I imagined...more direct than psychiatry or psychology...and cheaper! I left the session with a feeling of control and confidence. Worth a dozen therapy sessions.
Thank you!"

Astro-logical Forecast for Wednesday 10/22/2014: Love on the Brink of Scorpio

Since 7:12AM ET on Tuesday, Moon has been in people-pleasing Libra, seeking fairness and balance in relationship. Did you know that the Fox News Channel launched on a day with the Sun in Libra? And that their slogan is “fair and balanced”? Coincidence or conspiracy?

Tuesday’s Moon cruised through the heavens without interference. Wednesday is another story, as the Moon makes its weekly clash with the never-ending Uranus-Pluto square. Ruthless Pluto challenges the Moon at 5:09AM ET, followed by a jolt or flash of insight around 10:25AM ET, courtesy of Uranus.  Then it settles down, and dare I say the mood likely lifts by 8:49PM ET, when the Moon is supported by optimistic Jupiter.

This is the last full day of the Sun and Venus in Libra. Both enter Scorpio tomorrow, at 7:57AM ET and 4:52PM ET, respectively. Scorpio demands substance; none of that airy-theory-rational stuff that Libra does so well. Scorpio is a deeply emotional sign, noted for its need for privacy, power and control.  Scorpios “build all the way up to Heaven…and all the way down to Hell,” wrote astrologer Linda Goodman. Hopefully you can hang with one who builds a stairway to Heaven. A Scorpio heading for Hell will happily annihilate everyone and everything in its way. Really, they are so very interesting.

Venus in Scorpio needs depth and substance in social expression, along with passion, for better or for worse. As in revenge, served cold. It’s an honor thing with Scorpio. There is a certain code that must be followed. Anything less would be an insult. Show a Scorpio a bit of honor and you may have a loyal ally for life. And a fiercely passionate one, too.

I just paused to scan the headlines and noted that an Ohio couple married for 73 years just died — 28 hours apart. I looked at the accompanying photo of Helen and Joe Auer and thought, “I bet one of them is a Scorpio”. And in fact,  Helen was born on November 7, 1919 — Scorpio! Joe was a Taurus (May 2, 1914) — another sign noted for tenacity, and that’s where Helen’s Moon is. His Moon is also in an immovable sign — Leo.

His horoscope has Pluto (transformation/death),  the ruling planet of Scorpio, running wild and at the Aries Point….and it’s in a supercharged aspect to her Venus, also at the Aries Point.  This suggests a potential for depth and passion — good to have if you plan to stay with someone for ever and ever. The Aries Point suggests a need for prominence — and isn’t it interesting that this couple’s ideal love story is making headlines now, with current planetary patterns (Sun conjunct Mercury conjunct Venus) suggesting a need for the ideal in relationships.

And now you know why it can be so helpful to understand how your horoscope lines up with the horoscope of your beloved…or a potential romantic partner….or your child….or your boss or employee.

Astro-logical Forecast for Monday 10/22/2012: Sun in Scorpio

And a delightful Monday morning to you. Well, perhaps not so delightful for East Coasters waking up a few hours after an exact challenge between stern Saturn in stubborn Scorpio and Moon in quirky, yet equally stubborn, Aquarius (exact at 4:30AM ET).  A sense of loss, which fuels a reach for ambition — or perhaps some Designated Authority Figure throwing a wet blanket on someone’s rose-colored dream? In your own personal world, maybe all you’ll need is a second cup of coffee to get you buzzing through the day, picking up inspired and inventive ideas when the Moon is supported by “mad scientist” Uranus at 11AM ET. Hash them out in a brainstorming session with the rest of the gang.

The big astro-logical news today the Sun leaving airy, cerebral Libra for the watery, emotional sign of Scorpio (exact at 8:14PM ET). This adds to the demand for substance over theory suggested by disciplined Saturn’s ingress into Scorpio on October 6th. It should heighten the intensity of this evening’s third and final presidential debate, which starts at 9PM ET.  I will post a separate forecast for the debate later today.

Meanwhile, if you’re feeling a urge to merge with a higher consciousness or escape into some other rarefied, intangible state (music, spirit or drug-induced fantasy), then you are in tune with the patterns suggested by nebulous Neptune in harmonious contact with the Sun (life force), an aspect which is exact on Tuesday at 7:15AM. It’s a helpful aspect to have if you’re trying to keep the peace. It’s also a potential set-up for a vision or pure fantasy, deception or lies.

In contrast, a big dose of reality may hit when the annual meet-up between controlling Saturn and Sun (life force) on happens on Thursday morning. Last year, when the Sun and Saturn hooked up in Libra, we saw some heavy judgments handed down in the headlines. This year, with the hook-up in Scorpio, what debts will be called in from the depths, like so much karmic retribution? If you are celebrating a birthday around the 25th of October or July, or the 21st of February or April, you are likely feeling this more strongly than most.  Maybe your energy is a little low; maybe you’re feeling restricted or controlled — it’s all in an effort by the Universe to get you streamlined and  focused on what is essential.

Moon voids this week: Tuesday 9:2PM ET — Wednesday 7AM; Friday 11:04AM — 3:31PM ET.

Astro-logical Forecast for Tuesday 11/22/11: Dark Side of the Moon

In terms of planetary activity, yesterday was the quietest day of the week. We have an interesting dichotomy now of having an abundance of weird, innovative, creative, possibly resourceful and/or forceful energy to use, suggested by a number of stable contacts between rebel genius Uranus and the Sun (life force), action-oriented Mars and indefatigable Pluto and disciplined Saturn and loving Venus…all of which will be exact today and tomorrow. BUT — 1) we are in the last phase of the lunar cycle, suggesting that our focus is best spent wrapping up old business and clearing the way for the New Moon, exact at 1:10AM ET Friday; and 2) Mercury has reached its station of 21 Sagittarius, about to turn retrograde on Thursday at 2:21AM ET, suggesting our minds are not working as deftly as they usually do. Back up your computer NOW. No, really. RIGHT NOW.

Today the Moon in Libra suggests a need for balance, peace, justice and fairness in all interactions, even as we adjust to the wild shift made by the Sun’s ingress into adventurous, fiery Sagittarius at 11:08AM ET. Whereas Sun in Scorpio can keep much under wraps for the sake of control, Sun in Sagittarius is more inclined to let it all hang out, and never mind the mess. If you were a Centaur (half-human, half-horse), aiming at arrow at the sky, whilst galumphing across an open field, you’d trip over your four left hooves on occasion, too. But what a fitting festive energy for the beginning of the holiday season…

Astro-logical Forecast for Monday 11/7/2011: Sunshine & Fog

Happy Monday, a day in which we find the Sun running wild in the regenerative, resourceful sign of Scorpio, demanding our attention. Is that why Paul Krugman’s latest op-ed on the front page of the New York Times is about the real possibility that solar energy will be lighting our way sooner rather than later? http://www.nytimes.com/2011/11/07/opinion/krugman-here-comes-solar-energy.html?_r=1&hp

That zippy shift in energy you may have noticed yesterday at 2PM ET continues today with the Moon barreling through me-me-me Aries, no doubt seeking to take the initiative on all sorts of idealistic and potentially magical ways of thinking. The path is likely as clear as it can be after the potential Neptune-induced fog suggested by  the nebulous planet’s exact challenge to assertive Mars early this morning. No major aspects hit until around 1PM ET tomorrow, when that soulful charge may have to get real, serious or cope with a “wet blanket” thrown on it by a challenge from restrictive Saturn.  Until then, make the very best of a potentially dizzying day.

No Moon voids during business hours this week, except from 11:27AM-3:10PM ET on Friday. Onward!

Astro-logical Forecast for Thursday 10/28/2010

Say goodbye to Mars in Scorpio, which best uses energy by going deep in order to gain control. Today we welcome Mars in high-flying Sagittarius, an energy that needs to express its opinions and other big ideas — just in time for the final days of the campaign season. Look for enthusiastic waxing about all matters philosophical to increase over the next few weeks — it’s a pundit’s dream come true.

This morning might bring you a sobering, yet hopefully practical realization, thanks to a challenge from Moon (our needs) from restrictive Saturn (too bad; deal with it)…but the mood should lighten up as the day progresses: Sun in Scorpio is hooking up with loving Venus (also in Scorpio — and retrograde — as daily readers of this forecast well know), suggesting an urge to merge deeply and a tendency to see whatever is in front of you in the best possible light. If there’s a social invitation or an artsy event on your calendar this evening, go for it — or at least check out the nearest Happy Hour. You’re likely to appreciate the experience, though the astrological rules (Venus retrograde) advise caution in bringing a new object of desire home.

Astro-logical Forecast for Friday 10/22/2010 and the Weekend

Astro-logical Forecast for Friday 10/22/2010 and the Weekend

Glamorous, charismatic, sublime, surrender, fanatical, transcendental — or perhaps a weird combination of all the above. Whatever it is you’re dealing with today — in your life or in the news — it may not even feel real — but it can still be a delicious escape. It can also be a day of particularly powerful, incisive communication — as a result of intense investigation — we may see some strong personas making especially bold statements in an effort to inspire/influence — watch the headlines. You can also apply this depth of perception to projects of your own.

Moon is still in me-me-me Aries — waxing full at 9:37PM NY. You may recall last month’s Full Moon was also in Aries, a sign that needs to be Number One — and isn’t that an interesting counterpoint to the focus on relationships we’ve been working on all month? What do we really want in our relationships and what are we willing to give in order to get it? That’ll be an interesting question, given that less than an hour after waxing full, Moon moves into sensual, yet stubborn and possessive Taurus, where it usually aims to keep things as they are.

Saturday Sun leaves Libra for Scorpio, joining Mercury, Venus and Mars and increasing the demand for substance over theory in an effort to control. See if you notice the shift in intensity. Sunday’s notable aspect is an easy connection between Mars, planet of action and inventive Uranus, suggesting headlines about progress made in projects benefiting the common good, maybe with a creative dose of technology. Not the worst aspect to have on United Nations Day, eh?
