Astro-logical Forecast for Monday and Such 7/18/2016: Sneak Peek at the Week; Full Moon in Capricorn

The work week begins with Moon in Capricorn, forging ahead without too much interference during business hours. Your mission is to make things happen, using people and things to your strategic advantage.  Man, that Capricorn Moon can be cold. A dreamy or creative spin may be applied to your dastardly deeds around 2PM ET, when the Moon harmonizes with visionary Neptune.

Be advised that emotions, along with the Moon, are waxing full today, exact on the Full Moon on TUESDAY at 6:56PM ET. Until then, we must first survive the emotional intensity and power plays of the Moon’s meet-up with merciless Pluto tonight at 9:24PM ET, followed by the (saber) rattling of Tuesday’s clash between Moon and Uranus, exact at 1:06PM ET. With warrior/action hero Mars still in an uncomfortable relationship with rebel Uranus (and discordant Eris), do your part to minimize the potential for outbursts by mastering your own aggressive urges and/or take it out at the local gym.

Other than Tuesday’s Full Moon, there are few exact planetary patterns between planets other than the Moon. Today and tomorrow we are under the influence of Saturn (structure, patriarchy, authority) in harmony with Mercury (how we need to think) and Venus (what we value; how we express ourselves socially). With the former in opinionated Sagittarius and the latter in regal Leo, we can expect a heavy dose of crystalline, yet conventional showmanship — pun obviously intended given that in the United States these alignments coincide with the Republican National Convention. Mercury and Saturn align at 2:28AM ET on Tuesday; Venus and Saturn align at 9:20AM on Wednesday. In your own personal world, hammer out that proposal, article, deal or any other enterprise requiring idealistic, organizational structure.

The Sabian Symbols for Tuesday’s Full Moon are as follows. For the Sun at 28 Cancer: “a modern Pocahontas.” For the Moon at 28 Capricorn: “A large aviary.” Here’s what Sabian Symbol Blain Bovee has to say about the large aviary:

Imagine a group of people, united by race or religion, talking amongst themselve about another strange and foreign group with whom they share nothing in common, apart from the fact of being human. Stories build, probably rife with moral branding, bias and projected fears.

Astonishing in its timeliness, is not?  As for Pocahontas, Bovee writes:

…a playful, perhaps wanton, little girl fascinated with the strangers from a foreign region…

Of these two Symbols together, Bovee suggests:

Be alert to the need to tell a story to one’s best advantage, to talk matters up to reinforce a prevailing version. Watch for uninhibited natures: sexual, social, moral, political, that shamelessly wander into foreign regions, dress in foreign clothes, pray to strange gods; bringing home an unlikely marriage; bridging worlds of difference with sprightly, unaffected resolve, despite being very much talked about.

If you like Bovee’s take on the Sabian Symbols, here’s the link to his book.

Moon voids are few this week. On Tuesday, Moon will be void between 6:56PM ET and 11:10PM ET; on Thursday stick to routine concerns and chill out between 9:56PM ET and 4:35AM ET on Friday. Be advised that Thursday’s Moon void happens on a highly charged aspect between Moon and Mars. Moon-Mars aspects suggest conflict and aggression. Stay safe out there, mmmKay?

On Friday, Sun enters Leo at 5:30AM ET.

If you’d like to find out what’s going on in your horoscope — and I can’t imagine why you wouldn’t — here’s the 411 on consultations.

In lieu of the headlines,  I offer you the latest missive from my favorite disembodied entities — The Hathors — channeled through sound healer Tom Kenyon. No predictions of doom and gloom this time — just a practical meditation/sound healing for coping with these interesting times. Thank you, Moon in Capricorn.

Astro-logical Forecast for Friday 3/18/2016 & the Weekend: Cosmic Channels; Sun in Aries

TGIF!

Party on and color it rose for the next few days. The Moon entered Leo at 3:54AM ET, looking for love in sublime places, if Sunday’s meet-up between Venus and Neptune in soulful, compassionate Pisces takes the high road. Otherwise that beautiful dream may be just that…a dream.

Planetary patterns are light on Friday and Saturday. The Leo search for love and ego recognition may incorporate old guard and avant garde on Saturday,  before going void with a sigh at 4:43PM ET. Your rip roarin’ evening adventures may be of little consequence, but still enable you to shine, shine, shine! Moon enters Virgo (to clean up the confetti at 1:39PM ET on Sunday. Sleep in, why don’t you?

Meanwhile, at 12:31AM ET on Sunday, the Sun enters Aries and the New Year officially begins. Happy Vernal Equinox! Happy Astrology Day, too!

Courage, self-reliance, inspiration and a pioneering spirit are keywords for the Sun in Aries, sign of the ram — and the lamb.  That’s on a good day. Otherwise, Aries falls down stairs because it’s faster than walking. They can be impatient, reckless and fierce in their belief in impossible things.  Aries is the baby of the zodiac. In the Northern hemisphere (the birthplace of Western astrology),  the Sun’s ingress into Aries  is a time of renewal and rebirth.

In astrology, the first day of each season (Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter) corresponds with the first day (or first DEGREE) of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn, respectively. Got that? Good. These four signs are called CARDINAL signs of the zodiac, with “cardinal” here suggesting (from the Latin root of the word), “that on which something turns or depends.”  Cardinal signs take ACTION. They INITIATE. Nothing happens without ACTION. And action leads to  NECESSARY CHANGE. As in a change of seasons — suggested by solstices and equinoxes. Clear?

The first day of a  season is prominent in our culture, right? We make a big deal over it — yes? So can you see that in astrology, we observe that PLANETS that are at the first degree of a cardinal sign (Aries, Cancer, Libra & Capricorn), tend to pack a more powerful, prominent punch. They suggest ACTION which leads to CHANGE — prominently! The first degree of the cardinal signs is known as the ARIES POINT. Got that?

On Monday, Mercury will enter Aries and thus be at the Aries Point,  bringing pioneering communication to the forefront. Watch the headlines. If your personal  horoscope has a  planet or angle at the Aries Point, you can expect that the energy of that planet will demand prominent expression in your life. Your friends and family — and perhaps the entire free world — will notice it. Consult your local astrologer for details.

No sleeping in on Monday. It’s a busy day and we’ll be warming up for a Full Moon and Eclipse early Wednesday morning. There’s a lot to sort through that no longer serves between now and then. How else are you going to make that fresh start?

And now, the news.

Not much, because I’m tired of writing about Donald Trump. Except for this bit about a prescient “Simpsons” episode which aired on March 19, 2000 — on the last day of Pisces, natch — perfect for a doomsday scenario. It imagines an America “gone insane” — and electing Donald Trump for president. Things are pretty bewildering in Brazil, too. And elsewhere. Sign of the times.

Dreams, endings and chaos are themes in the latest message from The Hathors.   As many Avid Readers know, they are my favorite disembodied entities, channeled by sound healer Tom Kenyon. Someone turned me on to them over a decade ago, and they always seem to send a message right before a particularly intense period of planetary action. Coincidence or conspiracy?

I wish this one wasn’t quite so dire, but we are at the end of the astrological year…with Uranus and Pluto running full speed ahead in the back half of Aries and Capricorn for the next few years…along with this year’s bewildering righteous tension between the other outer planets: Jupiter in Virgo, Saturn in Sagittarius and Neptune in Pisces. And then some. We live in interesting times — similar to what we experienced in the 30s and 60s — as you’ve known for years — and as certain media types are now finally starting to realize.

How to stay centered?

Many have written about the benefits of gratitude, but I especially appreciate the Hathors’ view that gratitude — and joy — are empowering. If you are grateful, you are a Have, not a Have-Not. And out of that gratitude and empowerment, you can be joyful. We really need more of this practice in the world — and the Hathors offer tools you may find intriguing. If all else fails — if you’re not a meditative type — there is music and dance — as in this piece about “sober raves” — a latest craze. Sounds like fun — and how fitting for a weekend with Moon in love play love Leo.

Meanwhile, one of my favorite embodied entities is the gifted intuitive (and Avid Reader) Peri Lyons. It’s her birthday today. Happy fabulous solar return!

Finally, news from the cosmos. First,  “what we’ve learned about Pluto” in the past eight months — posted the day after Pluto pulled focus in the astrological world with its trine to expansive Jupiter. So of course we should expand on Pluto. Even more expansive: “meet the BOSS — the largest structure in the Universe discovered (so far) — a wall of galaxies one billion light years across”.

There must be a bunch of beginnings in that big ginormous wall. I wonder how we fit in to the grand scheme of things. It’s hard to believe there are no other life forms out there pondering the same question…

Thank you for reading this forecast.

Astro-logical Forecast for Friday 10/31/2014 & The Weekend: Happy Halloween!

Trick or treat!

If you’re looking for something scary this Halloween, be advised that planetary patterns favor the weird and wacky over ghouls and goblins. The Moon is still in Aquarius, which favors the unconventional. If you haven’t figured out what costume to wear, a helpful boost to the Moon from Uranus may spark your imagination before you head for the office. Oh go ahead, wear something fun to work — you know you want to. I’m wearing my native costume.

Whatever you’re wearing, keep putting the Aquarian networking potential to good use, aided and abetted by three cooperative connections that will be exact on Saturday: between Mercury and Jupiter; Venus and Pluto; Mars and Neptune. These suggest inspired communication and thought processes, some of which may be quite magical. A sexy spin, perhaps, or something equally spellbinding. Let’s hope you’re the one casting and not the other way around.

The Moon goes void on a bit of a bump at 2:22AM ET Saturday, on a challenge from “wet blanket Saturn”.  Moon doesn’t enter Pisces until 12:37PM ET, so feel free to sleep in and chill. Avoid impulse purchases during the void.

Don’t forget to set your clocks back before you go to sleep on Saturday; Daylight Savings Time ends Sunday morning.  The Pisces Moon favors the soulful, the artsy and compassionate; plan your day accordingly. A cooperative connection between the Sun and Pluto favors power and regeneration, which can be a good thing, depending on one’s agenda. Power can be used for good and not-so-good, doncha’ know. The planets have no say in these matters, but people do.

You can drift into the office on Monday, as the Moon will be void from 4:05AM to 1:53PM ET. The mood should shift noticeably when the Moon enters Aries in the afternoon.

And now, the news.

Apple CEO Tim Cook has a birthday on Saturday. And yesterday he published an essay yesterday acknowledging that he is gay and very proud of it, thank you very much. Mr. Cook is a Scorpio with Moon in pioneering Aries. Without an exact birthtime, we don’t have the exact degree of the Moon, but given the timing of the announcement, it could be between 11 and 14 degrees of Aries, and thus being supercharged by the Uranus-Pluto square, suggesting an upset and/or empowerment. This Moon is part of a tense T-Square pattern in his horoscope — between Saturn at 13 Capricorn and Mars at 16 Cancer, suggesting, among other things, the potential for extraordinary drive and discipline. Mars and Saturn have also been under high tension, suggested by contact with Uranus and Pluto — and this will continue into next year.

Interesting to note that Mr. Cook’s Scorpio Sun is tightly conjunct nebulous Neptune, suggesting among other things, a visionary potential, empathy, and also that ego identity issues may be rather bewildering.  You can’t tell from a horoscope if someone is male or female, but you can tell if that person may struggle with issues of self-determination, including sexual expression. I once worked with a client who was transitioning from male to female, and the timing of her public declaration of her gender identity, name change, projected hormone treatments, etc., were perfectly in synch with patterns in her horoscope. It made perfect sense, and my client found it very reassuring to learn how planetary patterns validated her struggle and decision to change.

In other news, a drama perfectly reflecting the determination of one individual (Uranus in Aries) to defy the Established Order (Pluto in Capricorn) is going on way up in Maine, as nurse Kaci Hickox rebels against the state’s efforts to enforce a 21-day quarantine since she returned from West Africa. Meanwhile, in the NYT Sunday Magazine you’ll find a harrowing and poignant account penned by journalist Theo Padnos about being kidnapped and held captive in Syria.

Planetary patterns are relatively quiet now, but as we get closer to November 10th, headlines are sure to become volatile, as Mars comes into contact with Uranus and Pluto. Not only that, but on December 15th, we’ll have the sixth of the seven exact squares between Uranus and Pluto. So it made sense that another missive from The Hathors was delivered via sound healer Tom Kenyon yesterday, giving us a heads up. When was the last missive sent? On March 26th, a few weeks before the fifth exact square. I am fascinated by their consistent sense of timing, as noted in this forecast from last December.

Whoever or whatever The Hathors are, what they have to say about climate change, government/institutional breakdowns & breakthroughs — and especially the crisis in spiritual evolution and consciousness that we face collectively on Planet Earth — is mirrored by the ongoing Uranus-Pluto square and other significant alignments, etc., etc.  What they als0 offer (via Kenyon) is a number of practical meditation techniques to keep you grounded and clear in these challenging times. That is why I find their posts relevant and helpful.

On a housekeeping note, if you are interested in booking a personal astro-logical consultation for yourself or for a friend, I am extending my Mercury retrograde incentive for new clients through November 12th, as we are still in the “shadow period” of the last Mercury retrograde. At some point in the not too distant future, I do intend to raise my rates, to reflect the two years of study and knowledge accumulated since the last modest increase. And I wanted to give you plenty of notice in advance, with much gratitude for your continued support.

Thank you for reading this forecast. Have a fabulous weekend!

Astro-logical Forecast for Wednesday 12/18/2013: Thinking Positively

A possible surprise, revelation or other disruption of the status quo may awaken some in the Americas, as the sensitive Cancer Moon is challenged by the Uranus-Pluto square. Moon connects with rebel Uranus at 6:32AM ET, then moves into an opposition to ruthless Pluto at 10:58AM ET. Themes of empowerment and emancipation –  on the plus side; upsets on the down side. Those born with 8-12 degrees of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn in their horoscopes are likely to feel the jolts more than most. No exact lunar connections after that, so you can enjoy an afternoon of quiet productivity and have a jolly time at a holiday party in the evening (Moon will make contact with exuberant Jupiter after midnight).

As mentioned in prior forecasts, over the next two weeks we’ll be experiencing challenging connections between aggressive Mars and Uranus (and Pluto, too). On the plus side: breakthroughs — in consciousness, outer space and technology. On the down side: angry outbursts, erratic behavior — sometimes violent. Last time we had this pattern was in late July/early August, and on August 1st I wrote:

This just in from outer space (also a Mars-Uranus concern) or at least some outer dimension. Sound healer Tom Kenyon posted the latest missive from a group of disembodied entities who call themselves The Hathors. Someone turned me on to Kenyon’s website ten years ago, and what I find fascinating is that whatever the Hathors have to say is in tune with planetary patterns. What they talk about in terms of climate change, government/institutional breakdowns & breakthroughs — and especially the crisis in spiritual evolution and consciousness that we face collectively on Planet Earth — is mirrored by the ongoing Uranus-Pluto square and other significant alignments, etc., etc.  What they als0 offer (via Kenyon) is a number of practical meditation techniques to keep you grounded and clear in these challenging times. That is why I find their posts relevant and helpful….

Apparently, a few readers thought the Hathors were cool, too. So here is the latest — channeled just before this Mars-Uranus period. This one is specifically about Fukushima, which is interesting because as expected, news about Fukushima has been cropping up whenever a faster-moving planet makes a challenging connection to the Uranus-Pluto square. Coincidence or conspiracy?

The Hathors are not happy about Fukushima. But hey — they are here to help. Check out the link above for their thoughts; I did find them helpful. Now when I think of Fukushima, instead of wringing my hands in  doom and despair, I project positive energy and light. I imagine, for example,  scientists figuring out how the radiation-devouring fungi discovered several years ago at Chernobyl can save the day, as scientists always do in Hollywood blockbusters.  Apparently there are some scientists who are imagining that maybe we really are in a movie — or at least, a hologram.  If that’s true, I’d like to believe that we do have what it takes to create a happy ending.

Only six more shopping days until Christmas! A personal astro-logical consultation would make a lovely gift — for yourself or a special someone on your holiday shopping list. I have  festive gift certificates to email or snail mail — here’s the 411.
