"The reading was a partnership between the two of us; she did not simply recite planetary signs and meanings, but had a conversation with me, continually asking what I made of what she saw, and what I thought I could do to change the things I want to change.

When the names of other people in my life came up, she quickly looked up their charts on her computer and commented on their roles in my life -- painting a fuller picture of where I was, where I wanted to go, and how I could get there.

What was impressive was that Elisabeth took all the planets, people, and situations that made up my life and created a context for them all that was positive, hopeful, and exciting!

She has a lovely personality, a sharp wit, and a gift for astrological interpretation."

Astro-logical Forecast for Friday 6/17/2011 and the Weekend; Weiner Eclipsed

Less bumpy today. Moon in Capricorn continues to push us to take care of business, but without the fits and starts of yesterday’s harsh contacts from the heavies: Pluto, Saturn and Uranus. And perhaps you’ll find the pressures of the backlog/bottleneck suggested by the lunar eclipse have eased up.

Mind, communication and travel could incline you to the sublime, the optimistic, the escapist or expansive, thanks to supportive contacts to Mercury from rose-colored Neptune and enthusiastic Jupiter. Watch for innovation and possibly genius in your own personal world, as well as the headlines. By Sunday, you may be struck by a profound insight that cuts to the quick or cuts away the fat. It’s all part of this month’s lunar cycle: new ways of thinking that get you out of your comfort zone, so you can progress to the next level. Don’t be afraid to let go.

Your insights may have an especially sober, yet stabilizing effect on a partner or an investment. You can get real without the drama. Moon in humanitarian, independent Aquarius as of Saturday AM cherishes friendship above all else. Perhaps you will be inspired to mix and mingle with your own cherished friends.

Meanwhile, Congressman Anthony Weiner resigned, in what is surely the most important news story of decade. At least for him. Looking at his horoscope (again), it is interesting to note that the New Moon and solar eclipse on June 1st made a challenging square to Weiner’s own Sun, Uranus and Pluto hooked up at 11 to 13 degrees of Virgo. That drive for power; that (apparently) uncontrollable need for risk and excitement; that sense of independence — of being a renegade, an innovator, a ruthless disruptor of the status quo….well? It was suddenly “eclipsed,” wasn’t it? Were you born eleven days into the sign of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius or Pisces? You may be feeling the effects of this eclipse more than others, too.

Astro-logical Forecast for Thursday 6/16/2011: Saturn, Gay Marriage & You

Keep your grounding cord down, as Moon in practical, make-it-happen Capricorn gets you out of bed, perhaps with a little flash of inspiration or a jolt.  Dynamic connections to Moon from disruptive Uranus, ruthlessly investigative Pluto and sobering Saturn keeps this day moving forward, with or without potholes. What revelation/illumination will the fallout from yesterday’s lunar eclipse/Full Moon bring? Another scandal? Keep an eye on this news source for headlines you may not see in your local fish wrap http://www.truth-out.org/news

In light of Saturn’s recent move forward in Libra, which seeks fairness, justice and balance in relationships, I noted several stories in recent headlines about gay marriage, one of the issues I predicted would be front and center during Saturn’s two year transit in the sign of the Scales. The NY State Assembly approved a same-sex marriage bill. Now it has to clear the State Senate http://edition.cnn.com/2011/US/06/15/new.york.gay.marriage/index.html. Meanwhile, a federal judge upheld Judge Vaughn Walker’s decision to strike down California’s gay marriage ban http://www.christianpost.com/news/gay-judges-ruling-on-californias-same-sex-marriage-ban-upheld-51173/

Be patient in areas related to mind, communication, travel and gizmos today. Mercury leaves its home sign of Gemini for the touchy-feely sign of Cancer. Less rational, more intuitive. It’ll take a day or so to adjust. Plus there’s all those waves from yesterday’s lunar event. Eat some potatoes if you’re feeling wobbly.

If you’re wondering how these intense planetary patterns are impacting you personally, consider booking a session to discuss your unique horoscope. Otherwise, if you enjoy reading this daily forecast, please pass it on – and thank you to those of you who already do. Gratitude!

Astro-logical Forecast for Friday 4/22/2011 and the Weekend

Plenty to celebrate this Friday, including Earth Day, the last day of Mercury retrograde and the birthdays of jazz composer genius Charles Mingus and — according to my astrological calendar — actress Marilyn Chambers. Where to start? How about with a recording of Moanin’ — that should cover both birthdays, yes? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R36dxzbsU4g And it should also get you up and ready to make things happen, suggested by the proactive energy of today’s Moon in Capricorn.

As productive as Capricorn energy is, I suggest you keep your knees bent (Capricorn rules the knees), so that you can keep your balance in whatever excitement may also come your way. Mercury is slowing down, about to move forward again tomorrow at 6:03AM EDT raising the potential for tech or travel snafus. And Venus is fast approaching its hook-up with electric Uranus at 10:29PM EDT, suggesting the potential for electric or unconventional hook-ups,  or at least an intriguing happy hour featuring “far out” or electrifying conversations. Uranus is the patron planet of astrologers, too btw…and my phone has been ringing off the hook with calls from clients over the past few days. Coincidence or conspiracy?

Saturday Moon continues in practical Capricorn, suggesting another good day for getting things done — maybe your last chance to clean out your closets before the next Mercury retrograde. Be careful on the roads as we adjust to Mercury’s move forward, especially during the Moon void, which begins at 8:13PM EDT. Another nice long break….until 1:59PM EDT Sunday, when Moon enters the sign of humanitarian Aquarius. Family gatherings should be friendly and drama-free. Enjoy your Easter brunch or dinner in peace.

Astro-logical Forecast for Monday 2/28/2011

Make-it-happen Capricorn energy gets you up and at ’em Monday morning; the Moon has been in that practical, proactive, take care of business sign all weekend — did you feel it? Was that why the Oscars felt so…efficient? Note the lack of a Moon void, suggesting no big surprises or upsets in favor of the underdog. I did not look at the horoscopes of this year’s contenders; one can assume the horoscopes of all nominees are strong — they’d have to be, to be nominated! Last year I was sure Meryl Streep would take home the award for Best Actress over Sandra Bullock, as the latter’s horoscope suggested an especially challenging period in her life — certainly compared to Streep’s.  Of course Bullock DID win…and the next week her marriage fell apart. Challenging! And yet last night she looked so radiant in red. Moral of the story: it’s not so much the challenges we face, but how we choose to respond to them that matters. I know you know this, but it can’t hurt to be reminded of it, so embrace the challenges on your desk today and reward yourself for your hard work and discipline later tonight.

Meanwhile, I will be booking appointments for my trip to Los Angeles next week (March 4-14); if you or anyone else you know would like to book a horoscope consultation, please let me know — I’d love to see you.  : )

Astro-logical Forecast for Tuesday 2/1/2011

East Coasters, do your best to get it off your desk in the morning, before the Moon in ambitious Capricorn goes void at  2:32PM until 6:21PM NY time.  Quite frankly, you can probably find an innovative and inspired way to make things happen, especially if your work involves the arts, healing, spirit…and maybe a bit of finance (we may see some surprising news in the headlines regarding monetary matters today and tomorrow). During the void, you know the drill: no shopping sprees, chill if you can. Rest, brainstorm, take care of routine matters and be flexible with your scheduled appointments, as the flake factor is higher during void periods.

West Coasters, do the math: your Moon void happens between 10:32AM – 3:21PM LA time, suggesting a reeeeealllly long lunch hour. If your favorite client calls you in a panic, breathe through it, “keep calm and carry on”. Often these “crises” that occur during voids turn out to be much ado about nothing.

After the void, Moon enters Aquarius, a sign that needs to be socially significant. While you’re waiting around for the New Moon (in Aquarius) to happen on Wednesday evening, you could let the humanitarian spirit of the day inspire you make a list of a few ways you could be of service to others — no matter how small  — and have a plan to put them in action. You could even get a few friends involved, too.

Meanwhile, I hope this article by master astrologer Rob Hand puts the kibbosh on any lingering notion of there being a “revised” zodiac with 13 signs   http://robhand.com/Ophiuchus.htm — I’m still getting questions about it — truly amazing.

Astro-logical Forecast for Thursday 11/11/2010

Hmmm….it’s 11/11 — is that significant? Some people believe that when you see 11:11, an angel is trying to get your attention. Check it out here:  http://spiritlibrary.com/doreen-virtue/number-sequences-from-the-angels

We are wrapping up the last few hours of Moon in proactive, strategic-minded Capricorn, so use the morning  — until 2:57PM NY time to get things done. Then you can rest for a few…until 5:32PM NY during the void-of-course Moon. A long lunch on the West Coast; an afternoon of “letting things settle” on the East Coast. Remember Moon voids are good for routine activities, creative brainstorming, napping and flaking out. Be aware that surprises and upsets are more likely to occur during a void period when you are trying to do anything that involves moving in a straight line.

After the void, Moon enters the humanitarian sign of Aquarius. No exact aspects this evening suggests a quiet night. Enjoy.

Astro-logical Forecast for Tuesday 11/9/2010

If you’ve been feeling a bit wobbly over the past couple of days, it might be related to Mercury and Venus changing signs and Neptune turning direct. Venus moved backwards into Libra at 10:07PM NY time Sunday, softening a bit of the edginess and Scorpionic sting some have been feeling in social expression; Monday at 6:43 PM NY time Mercury also left Scorpio — and moved forward into high-flying, opinionated, foot-in-mouth oriented Sagittarius. Two personal planets leaving an emotional, controlled, penetrating water sign for cerebral air and boundlessly enthusiastic fire in 24 hours can be a bit of an adjustment — a little patience goes a long way!

Tuesday begins with Moon entering Capricorn at 8:36AM NY time. Blink and you might miss the one hour void beforehand. Today is a day to make things happen — so start climbing that mountain and/or plan that strategy. Be mindful of a potential moody bastard or battle for control that might show up around 3:14PM NY time (that’s the possible down side); on the other hand, a possible intense and/or insightful revelation could offer the opportunity to clear the air. Onward!

Astro-logical Forecast for Thursday 10/14/2010

Presumably you are putting the power of today’s Moon in Capricorn to work by making it happen. The urge to get others on board with your agenda might hit a bit of a snag this afternoon thanks to a challenge between Moon and Mercury (mind, communication, travel). Don’t forget that Venus is retrograde — you’ll have to be extra-conscious of your social interactions and remind yourself to sweeten your demands with a bit of sugar. That might be the additional challenge presented today via today’s First Quarter Moon. Whatever you’re putting out there, feedback may suggest a few adjustments to your Grand Plan.

Astro-logical Forecast for Wednesday 10/13/2010

Writing this while watching a live feed streaming on http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-latin-america-11489439 — as the first of the Chilean miners are being pulled out of the depths into the light. Honestly, humanity, there is no limit to the good we can do on this Earth…if we could only…oh…I dunno…get out of our own way.

This concludes the soapbox portion of this forecast.

Moon is in “make it happen” Capricorn, making contact to Pluto, Lord of the Underground this morning — which would seem to bode well for the miners — Capricorn rules mines, along with Pluto. You can apply this intensely focused energy to whatever initiative you launched in conjunction with last Thursday’s New Moon. Plumb the depths!

Meanwhile, in keeping with our collective two-year focus on re-examining rules for treating each other with fairness and justice (Saturn in Libra), yesterday a federal judge banned “don’t ask, don’t tell” — but note that this issue is likely not completely settled — we’ve got two years to go before this “focus group” concludes.

Finally, another split hit the headlines yesterday: Christina Aguilera and her husband are reportedly ending their marriage. And since I looked at Courteney Cox and David Arquette last night, I thought I’d see if there were any similarities happening in Ms. Aguilera’s chart, especially since I have allegedly accurate birth data of 12/18/1980, 10:46AM in Staten Island.

Immediately we see nebulous Neptune sitting right on Aguilera’s ascendant and challenging Uranus, which rules her house of one-on-one partnerships. Neptune tends to dissolve whatever it touches, so here bewilderment, confusion, fantasy, escapism, idealism — or a combination of all the above — are all suggested, clouding her sense of identity and directly affecting her relationship with her partner. Isn’t it interesting that Neptune is also quite active in the charts of Cox and Arquette? You might be experiencing a bewilderment of your own if you were born around Feb 14-16, May 15-17, August 17-19 and Nov 17-19 — though not necessarily impacting your marriage or other significant partnership — but a bewilderment nonetheless. Consult your local astrologer for details.

Astro-logical Forecast for Friday 9/17/2010 and the Weekend

“Bring it on!” “Make it happen!” Did I really write that yesterday? Mother Nature sure made it happen in my neck of the woods: a “tornado-like storm” landed right outside my building in the normally utterly uneventful town of Forest Hills. Talk about a massive release of energy — to be anticipated with all the planetary connections this week. So how was your Thursday?

(Fellow astrologers can analyze the astrology of this event: about 5:40PM Forest Hills, NY 9/16/2010)

I have a confession to make: I don’t always post certain possibilities in this forecast — I prefer to stay positive. After all, planets don’t do things, people do! So I didn’t write yesterday that the Jupiter (expansion) — Uranus (bolt from the blue, shock to the system) in Pisces (water, water everywhere) might bring about certain sudden, unusual, forceful weather — such as a storm! So perhaps I’ll go on record more often. And I’ll remind you all to put together your emergency kit if you haven’t done so already: water, canned food, cash, first aid kit, etc. Put one in your car, too! We are in a volatile planetary cycle – meaning Mother Nature is more inclined to “make it happen” than usual. And it’s hard to forecast exactly where these events will occur. So be prepared. And have a great day!

Aside from further outbursts likely related to the Jupiter-Uranus conjunction that’s exact on Saturday, Friday should feel relatively balanced. Still a good day to get things accomplished, even if you’re leaving work early for a day of atonement. Saturday has plenty of connections to a Moon in the sign of socially significant Aquarius, an air sign (please, no more storms). Sunday should be quieter than Saturday. Monday the Moon is void from 9:09AM – 4:15PM on the East Coast. Read the bonus forecast on 8/4/2010 (all about Moon voids) and phone it in, if you’re living on EST.
