"I'm a skeptic by nature and I still don't know how she does it, but Elisabeth told me more about myself and about critical points in my life than she could've known beforehand or can possibly be dismissed as coincidence or a parlor trick. And she helped me to use this as a framework to analyze the here and now more clearly. The session was definitely a positive, eye-opening experience."

Astro-logical Forecast for Friday 2/27/2015 & The Weekend: Close to Home

…and another long Moon void is over. As of 7:50AM ET, Moon enters Cancer, focusing on the need for emotional and/or homeland security. How will you nurture yourself and others today? Cruise along; there are no exact aspects until 7:41PM ET, when the Moon may be provoked by a poke from aggressive Mars. Don’t be such a meanie. A soothing escape may develop around 10pm ET, as Moon aligns with dreamy Neptune…or a shot of Scotch.

East Coasters, get your shopping done early on Saturday, as the Cancer Moon goes void at 12:53PM ET…not to enter Leo until 6:34PM ET on SUNDAY. That’s a long time to chill and focus on building and maintaining the comforts of home. What’s cooking? Note that around noon on Saturday, the Moon makes its weekly clash with the Uranus-Pluto square, suggesting potential upsets and power plays.

Mental Mercury is highlighted today and through Sunday, when it makes a brilliant — if somewhat erratic — contact with Uranus at 10:55AM ET Sunday, followed by an expansive contact with Jupiter at 4:15PM ET.  I’ll be watching for exceptionally big ideas — and a bit of bombast — in communication and mindset.

No news today, so I can get this posted by 10AM ET. Glance at the headlines and you’ll see plenty reflecting more Sun-Neptune fallout (art, drugs, oil, vision, etc.), as well as the highly efficient action potential of yesterday’s Mars-Saturn alignment. Yes, some of those actions were destructive.  The energy suggested by planetary patterns can be used constructively or destructively. Which will it be for you?

No sleeping in on Monday. We’ll be off to the start of a very active week — and month. Stay tuned to this channel for continuing updates, and have a great weekend!

What’s going on your horoscope?  Find out in a personal astro-logical consultation. We will have an excellent discussion together.

Astro-logical Forecast for Thursday 2/26/2015: Neptune in the News — and Other Cosmic Stuff

Stick to routine. Don’t let the buzz over any perceived crisis carry you away. Be aware that the flake factor is higher than average. Blame it on the Gemini Moon being void of course as of 3:43AM ET, not to enter Cancer until 7:50AM ET on Friday. Chill and go with the flow of twists that may arise in your efforts to move forward in a straight line.

And now, the news.

On March 3rd, we’ll have the second of three harmonious alignments between expansive Jupiter and “far out” Uranus. That’ll be less than two weeks away from the seventh Uranus-Pluto square. Take those patterns and add them to yesterday’s weird and wondrous meet-up between Neptune and the Sun, and you might find a few cosmic stories making headlines.

For example, what are those mysterious lights on the dwarf planet known as Ceres? NASA’s Dawn spacecraft zooms in for a closer look on March 6th. What timing! Meanwhile, scientists are equally perplexed by a black hole that has a mass 12 billion times greater than our own Sun…12.8 billion light years away. Makes one wonder how we tiny humans fit into the Big Picture…

Groundbreaking, technogeek news in the healing arts caught my eye: Bionic reconstruction gives men first prosthetic hands controlled by mind. Wow. Also groundbreaking, in the sense that anyone is seriously imagining this next feat will be possible: First full body transplant is two years away, surgeon claimsHard to wrap my head around that one.

Neptune rules fish. It also rules intangibles. On a day with Sun conjunct Neptune, I was delighted to see this headline on the NYT homepage: “In Overturning Conviction, Supreme Court Says Fish Are Not Always Tangible”  Ha! A few column inches down, in the obituaries, I noted this: “Eugenie Clark, Scholar of the Life Aquatic, Dies at 92”. Born on May 4, 1922 in NYC, Ms. Clark’s Taurus Sun is exactly square Neptune…and I’ll bet fifty cents that her Leo Moon is conjunct Neptune, too (can’t confirm it w/out an exact birthtime). Coincidence or conspiracy?

A Gemini Moon just adores news, and current planetary patterns are more optimistic than pessimistic. What a great day to release a study proving that there is actually more good news published than bad news. The words say it all.

Astro-logical Forecast for Friday & Saturday 2/17-18/2012: Practical Idealism

Well the markets certainly took the enthusiasm suggested by yesterday’s  Moon in Sagittarius, along with expansive Jupiter, ruler of Sagittarius in happy contact with mental Mercury, to heart. Good news on the job front sent markets soaring — were you soaring, too?

Moon enters make-it-happen Capricorn at 12:03AM ET on Friday, needing tangible structure and results from all that optimism. So if you haven’t already taken off early for the holiday weekend (it’s Presidents Day in the US), you can anticipate a proactive day at the office, even with Mars retrograde and the Moon at the end of its monthly cycle. At the end of a busy day, an indulgent celebration is suggested by a challenge from loving Venus to that make-it-happen Moon.

The Capricorn energy continues on Saturday, making it a great day for taking care of business. Our need for practicality is augmented by an even more practical connection between disciplined Saturn and the life-giving Sun, exact at 11:02AM ET. More headlines about fairness, justice and equality will likely show up beforehand. Note the potential for rich rewards as a result of investigations, suggested by an easy connection between ruthless Pluto and mental Mercury, exact 4:23PM ET. Go ahead and dig deep; you won’t be the only one talking about life, the universe, everything — and what you found swept under that rug.

Saturday is the last day of  the Sun in humanitarian Aquarius. It’s also the day that cardinal-in-waiting Timothy Dolan (currently Archbishop of New York and also an Aquarius) gets to drop the “in-waiting” from his job title. And what a fitting day to contemplate structure and authority (suggested by strong Saturn patterns and the Capricorn Moon), along with spirit. Nebulous Neptune makes its once-a-year hook-up with the Sun on Sunday at 3:42PM ET; regular readers of this forecast know the keywords for Neptune: fantasy, transcendence, spirit, drugs, alcohol, rarefied art, music, photography, soul union, illusion, confusion — and all sorts of other intangibles. In your own personal world, the mix of Neptune’s rose-colored glasses and Saturn’s realism can make for an elevated  experience for you, too.

Timothy Dolan was born on February 6, 1950 in St. Louis, Missouri — birth time unknown. But even without a birth time, we see that horoscope has the potential to be quite a powerhouse. Dolan has the Sun in Aquarius in close connection with expansive, lucky Jupiter, also in Aquarius — and wow! that dynamic duo is challenged by ruthless Pluto, suggesting great resources and empowerment. When he enters the room, he makes his presence known (Dolan is reportedly 6’3″ and described as “a bear of a man”).  A need to be concerned with matters of spirit is no doubt suggested by nebulous Neptune (spirit) in strong contact with that Sun, Jupiter  and Pluto.

There’s also a challenge from Neptune to mental Mercury in practical, authoritative Capricorn, echoed by an easy contact to Mercury from practical, authoritative Saturn. Mercury-Saturn contacts suggest a conservative mindset, and Dolan does describe himself as a conservative. On the flip side, however, Neptune-Mercury contacts, while inspired, also suggest the need for idealism. Isn’t that interesting? A combination of the practical and the idealistic…Saturn and Neptune…the two planets pulling focus this weekend.

Dolan has Moon in Libra, suggesting a strong need to be appreciated (which he is) and a preference for peace over conflict. It’s likely that Mars is conjunct that Libra Moon, adding great energy and drive to cerebral matters — a need to talk and debate…probably a quick temper (despite the desire for peace) that had to be managed…and also a need to be cerebral about emotions. In fact, there is likely a disconnect with personal relationships, suggested by Venus (social expression) in stubborn,  “I love you, but don’t take it personally” Aquarius…which is also retrograde. Venus retrograde is rare…and it’s a reliable signal that  relationships (especially intimate relationships with other humans) are going to be a challenge.  There’s much more that could be discussed, but suffice it to say that Timothy Dolan’s need to take a vow of celibacy, devote his life to matters of spirit and ideals, become a powerhouse within a structured organization and connect with the collective so effectively that parishioners gush, “he makes everyone feel like he’s their best friend” (an Aquarian’s dream come true  is a fascinating and awesome series of choices of playing the hand suggested by the horoscope. It would be interesting to see how a few of Dolan’s astrological twins played theirs.

Astro-logical Forecast for Wednesday 2/16/2011

Another day of few exact aspects, with a notable shift in emotional expression as Moon enters the sign of Leo at 4:14AM EST. Playful, regal, fiery — as opposed to protective, nurturing, sensitive. Inventive and expansive connections to that Moon suggest a good day for creative endeavors, especially with a waxing meet-up between Sun and nebulous Neptune on Thursday.  On the potential plus side: inspiration, soulfulness, sacrifice, healing. On the potential downside: fog, fanatics, deception, escapism. This rose-colored vibe will be in effect all through the weekend, as Mercury (mind, communication) and Mars join in the mix. Sunday could be…interesting…too bad the Oscars aren’t happening then — it’s a much better night for glamor and glitz than the 27th. Can we reschedule?

If you encounter a chill from the women in your life between now and Friday, chalk it up to a waxing square between Saturn (wet blanket, reserve, control) and Venus. Other issues related to love, social expression, money and beauty may also be challenged…making Friday’s Full Moon in Leo ripe for a scene or two. Watch the headlines for prideful stand-offs as the weekend approaches…and enjoy the relative ease suggested by today’s planetary patterns.
