Astro-logical Forecast for Wednesday 9/29/2010

Weird weather aside, we can look forward to another day of information gathering and disseminating — hopefully with a focus that becomes ever clearer as the day progresses. And by “weird weather” (please see my forecast for yesterday), I mean floods in Wisconsin, 100+ degree heat in LA and a tornado watch (!!!) in New York, which fortunately was much ado about nothing But we’re not out of the woods yet, weather-wise — so be prepared, wherever you may be.

Meanwhile, the annual meet-up between controlling Saturn and Sun (our life energy) on Thursday will likely hit those celebrating birthdays between now and October 1st with greater impact. Add to this list Aries born around March 30, Cancers born around June 30 and Capricorns born around December 30. Maybe your energy is a little low; maybe you’re feeling a little pinched, restricted — it’s all in an effort by the Universe to get you focused on what really matters — so that you will get back on track with ease once this moment passes. Just ask Jimmy Carter, who was flying all over the place on a book tour and now finds himself spending the night in a hospital with an upset stomach. President Carter was born October 1st — this Sun-Saturn hook-up is happening in his 12th house — which often relates to illnesses. President Carter needs to slow down — and so might you, if you’re born on any of the dates mentioned above. This, too, shall pass.

Astro-logical Forecast for Tuesday 9/28/2010

Lunar aspects today are fairly quiet, stable and constructive: the Moon is in Gemini, needing to inform and be informed, and is making a constructive connection to disciplined Saturn, helping us get the word out in a sober, practical way. Make the call, take the meeting, craft your pitch, build your network. Meanwhile, a few astrologers far more seasoned than I when it comes to forecasting seismic activity and intense weather patterns (why should Farmer’s Almanac have all the fun?) are noting a higher probability of such things from today through the end of the work week. Could this pattern be connected with Los Angeles’s record-shattering temperature yesterday of 113 degrees? 113 is pretty intense! Hmmm….

Astro-logical Forecast for Monday 9/27/2010

You can apply some creative thinking to ways you might build structure and stability today, or come up with a host of imaginative excuses on why things should — or must —  stay the same (watch the headlines). Projects requiring focus and discipline are favored this week; use the next few days to fine-tune your structure (such as a business plan or proposal); by Thursday news is likely to arrive that either helps you move forward in a practical way or throws a wet blanket on your grand plans, suggesting another look at the drawing board. That’s because the Sun (life energy) makes its annual meet up with Saturn, the planet of control, discipline, contraction and structure — on Thursday. Since the meeting is happening in Libra, fairness, justice, diplomacy and/or a serious relationship are also likely to be on the agenda.

Astro-logical Forecast for Friday 9/24/2010 and the Weekend

Reports from the field confirm that this was indeed a particularly intense, proactive Full Moon, just as anticipated. I’m hearing stories of explosive confrontations (ego-based), sudden crises in a doctor’s office and an overall busier-than-business as usual mood of the day. Also hearing stories of deals coming close to fruition — especially speculative proposals backed by an enthusiastic and innovative sales pitch — and all of this fits within the realm of possibility suggested by the planets this week.

Today the Moon is still in me-me-me Aries, suggesting abundant enthusiasm and pioneering strategies, on the one hand — and the possibility for more ego spats if someone feels they are not being Recognized. TGIF! While the Moon (emotional response) is not being buffeted around like tumbleweed today, we are approaching a challenge between ruthless Pluto and the Sun, exact Saturday at 8:24PM NY. Already we are seeing in the headlines more revelations of corruption in hallowed institutions, like GMAC admitting that it signed off on thousands of foreclosures without actually reading any of the files, despite the fact that it was legally obligated to do so. And then there are health “insurers”, scrambling as best they can to put their bottom line first, no matter what (which, for the record,  they are legally obligated to do), with endearing strategies like eliminating health insurance policies for children. Ruthless! And — what’s this? Minutes ago, this headline in the New York Times: “Hidden Under Tax-Exempt Cloak, Political Dollars Flow”. Well, thanks to Pluto moving through Capricorn, they’re not hidden anymore ; )

Saturday the Moon is Void from 9:12AM – 4:17PM NY — so consider yourself advised to avoid impulse shopping during this time period. Odds are you don’t really need it — and later you’ll wonder why you bought it. The key word here is “impulse”. If it’s something you’ve already scoped out, planned to purchase — and are just waiting for the weekend to pick it up, that’s another story. You may find the day better spent catching up on sleep, exercising, meditating or just wandering around and seeing where the day takes you. Let me know if you encounter any twists.

Moon moves into sensual Taurus at 4:17PM NY for the rest of the weekend, making dynamic connections to both Mars (action) and Venus (social expression), suggesting a Saturday and Sunday well-spent indulging in pleasures of the senses, especially with a significant other if you’ve got one hanging around. Even if you’re flying solo, the weekend can be delightful.

Astro-logical Forecast for Thursday 9/23/2010

Busy night…leading into another pro-active day. Start by noting your dreams this AM.

Moon moved into me-me-me Aries at 4:47AM NY, reaching fullness at 5:17 AM NY by opposing the Sun at zero degrees of Libra, the very beginning of that sign. Recall what I wrote yesterday about the first day of a new season being exceptionally powerful and driven to be noticed! Now add in a FULL MOON — illumination — happening on the same day. Turbo-charged — if you choose to actually do something with the dynamic forces at your disposal. So…DO something…perhaps following up on your New Moon agenda from two weeks ago — the one about how your authentic creative self is being of service, whether your process needs a bit of refinement and how going with your gut may offer clues to greater efficiency and discernment. You will likely have plenty of opportunities for action today…even if you do have to create them yourself.

Astro-logical Forecast for Wednesday 9/22/2010

Today marks the last day of summer — the Sun is at the end of Virgo and will move into Libra at 11:09 PM NY tonight and then…happy Autumnal Equinox…a perfect balance between day and night.

The first day of each season is especially powerful. We are immediately alerted to the likelihood of change and the beginning of a new cycle. These days are prominent, noticed and in some cultures even celebrated. The astrological signs that mark the seasons are Aries (spring), Cancer (summer), Libra (fall) and Capricorn (winter). Thus if you are born on or near the first day of those signs, or you have a planet or ascendant within the first two degrees of those signs, you will likely have a drive to be noticed in whatever areas of your life that planet signifies. For example, William Shatner, whom I wrote about a few weeks ago, has really been making headlines this year. His Aries Sun is right at the beginning of the sign and that Sun is — or recently was — being transited by Pluto, Saturn, Uranus and Jupiter (all in the current Big T-Square Party) at the beginning of Capricorn, Libra and Aries, respectively. This man can’t help but be noticed, especially now!

Libra is a airy, mental sign, generally concerned with relationships, social graces and with promoting fairness, justice and balance. This does not mean Librans are balanced; it means they generally are seeking balance and are quite capable of swinging back and forth wildly as they search for it. As sweet as Libra can be, they are not marshmallows. The term “iron fist in a velvet glove” often applies. Jimmy Carter is a Libra — and yes, points in his chart are being triggered by that Big T-Square Party right now, pushing him back into the headlines, along with a heavy mantel of gravitas courtesy of an authoritative, tell-it-like-it-is Saturn transit about to hit Carter’s Libra Sun.

About today: with the Sun at the beginning of Libra, it is joining the current Big T-Square Party (see forecast for 7/27 if you don’t know what that is). Thus we can expect a lot of activity — especially pro-activity. Be mindful of the potential for overloads and short circuits in your system, including your technology. Keep your grounding cord down and move forward. Note we are warming up for a particularly active Full Moon early tomorrow AM — watch this space for details — and watch the headlines for grand statements on social policy over the next few days — fairness, justice and balance in relationships.

Astro-logical Forecast for Tuesday 9/21/2010

Are you thinking about redecorating your home? If so, pick out the colors and other aesthetic elements before October 8th if you can. Venus, planet of love and beauty will be going retrograde on that date for about six weeks. The chances of falling in love with beautiful things that really aren’t our style are higher when Venus appears to move backwards in the sky. What you fall in love with in October and November may not suit you come December. And yes, that applies to relationships, too.

As for today — big news is the opposition of expansive Jupiter and rebellious Uranus to the Sun in perfectionist Virgo. Somewhere there is someone who doesn’t want to be constrained and wants to be recognized as socially significant no matter what the risk. We’ll see what the headlines bring…

Astro-logical Forecast for Wednesday 9/1/2010

Coincidence or conspiracy? Tuesday evening I am at my computer working, when suddenly I hear these words of substance (see yesterday’s forecast): “Thank you. May God bless you. And may God bless the United States of America, and all who serve her.”  I look up and see that it is 8:19PM NY time; Moon has just come out of its “no-consequence” Void and moved into Gemini. All of a sudden one of the websites I had open on my computer screen has started broadcasting Obama’s speech — or at least the last three sentences of it. Cue “Twilight Zone” theme song now…

Moon is in Gemini until early Friday morning. People born with Moon in the airy, mental sign of the Twins have a need to inform with cleverness and charm — and they are often adept at arguing both sides of a situation, thus finding it difficult to make a decision.  If you’re dealing with information overload today, re-focus on the big picture — possibly the one you had in mind on the New Moon three weeks ago. A grounded connection from disciplined Saturn to possibly scattered emotions can help you chart your course today.

Meanwhile, if you’re thinking of planning an escape this weekend, the aspects do bode well for it. Moon in Gemini would love to help you gather the information for that possibility if you haven’t made plans…

Astro-logical Forecast for Monday 9/20/2010

9:09AM NY/6:09 AM LA starts off with a meet-up between  nebulous Neptune and the Moon (our reigning need), which then goes void until 4:15PM NY/ 1:15PM. Take note of your dreams. A morning meditation could be transporting — as could other forms of connected bliss. If you have trouble getting out of bed (especially on the West Coast) and otherwise dealing with reality, know that others may be having similar experiences — the “flake factor” is high during these periods — so be patient  and flexible — especially with scheduled meetings and set agendas. Doublecheck your calendar and confirm your appointments. If you’re an artist relying on inspiration for a living, today is a good day for brainstorming. For more details on Moon Voids, please see the bonus forecast posted after 8/4/2010 — if you haven’t read it already.

After the Void, Moon will be in watery Pisces, a sign which needs, to quote my teacher, “to identify the ideal, understand impressions and work with the intangible”. Sounds like the afternoon and evening will bring more of the same texture as the morning, only with a mindset and intention that’s actually in gear.
